This thread is for posting design ideas, inspiration, and discussion on:

Technologies
Technologies provide a clear focal point for future developments. Through technolgical research factions gain access to better and better enhancements of all aspects of their world and assets. All technologies are researched at the Union level.


We will need at least a few of these at the start of the game. Most of these are designed in the context of the things they unlock. Many of these technologies naturally follow from an idea for a set of upgrades and improvements. However, sometimes it is the other way around!

A cool idea for a technology leads to a set of ugprades and improvements that come with it, so I made this thread specifically for that!

(Do not worry about the details, implementation, or numbers you give. Those are subject to change anyway since we must balance them with the other things that are being designed.)

  • Any that provide access to any of the many other proposals made in other threads
  • Deep Space Probing - allow exploring more of the galaxy
  • Space Habitats - living in space stations away from planets

I think adding technologies may have to wait until we have a running system first, see how the first tier technologies go and adjust from there.
