Less elections

When FWURG was started Mercury's set up the Union laws such that an electoral period is 20 weeks. This means that someone is the Chancellor for 20 weeks. Every 20 weeks new elections are held, so that new players could get in on the election race and had a shot at running the Union.
The Union Electoral Process describes the IC laws to set up the elections and the associated periods where people can run for Chancellor. The whole "circus" of the elections starts 4 weeks before the vote, with many players that want to run starting their campaigning earlier because of the need to find running mates and secure some votes before the chaos begins.
Currently, we have:
I propose to start an IC movement toward a 50 week duration for an electoral period. That way we have less frequent elections, allowing people to prepare and campaign a bit more casually.
I have several other ideas for interesting votes with regard to the elections and the Chancellory, and most of them can simply be done ICly. But me and Mercury think this one is relevant to discuss OOCly.

Currently, we have:
- A stable group of players,
- Less interest in actually being the Chancellor (just look at the last few elections),
- A fifth of the duration of each electoral period spent on campaigning.

I have no objections to this, and I agree that this might help also with being able to get things done as a chancellor. Good idea!
I also agree to having less elections.
In the current short period you can only do small things. As most small things have been resolved by the players only large things remain and these take a lot of time. So by increasing the time they can be done.

I agree on the 50 week proposal.
This incidentally makes the motion of no confidence also a bigger thing, which is nice in my opinion.

I support this development
