Proposed Ataru maneuvre: Spring Attack

The idea is based on the D&D Spring attack where you move, attack and move away. Combined with Ataru this means quickly striking the enemy multiple times and stepping back between each hit.
Spring Attack
When there is enough room to maneuvre and you are using no action besides attacking you gain an additional +1 to Slashing
(Slashing +1 / Cutting +0 / Piercing +0 | Dodging +1 / Blocking +0 / Deflecting +0)

It appears that this is basically a +2 Slashing, +1 Dodging manoeuvre. As 'enough room' will always be a contested condition (i.e. Players claims this, storyteller is hairpulling because player again claims this)
Next to this, I don't like giving Ataru defensive boosts... go pick another style if you want more defence. Have a look at Makashi...

The concept of a spring attack does fit with Ataru.
However, this power is basically a slightly different copy of Saber Swarm for slashing. The Dodging bonus actually makes this manoeuvre weaker as you can't stack up on Slashing as much.
And I agree on the "enough room" hear tearing.
I like the concept of Spring Attack for Ataru, but I think we need a different take on the power itself.
