New saber styles brain dump

This post is just a brain dump of some things me and RemcoSwenker thought up. No significance should be attached to anything in this thread. Of course, you are free to reply on anything in this post -- it is in the public after all.

----

No second tier style should be created which only depends on Shii-Cho. As everyone has this style, it is not interesting to develop only from here.

----

The rules do not prohibit using multiple special manouevres together: A style with multiple special manoeuvres used as (trigger condition, finishing move) pairs. This would allow for example ("When blocking an attack", _) and ("When you bring an opponent of-balance", _) to combine with (_, "you get a +1 cutting next turn") or (_, "this removes one of the opponent's offensive advantage actions."). This would create four moves:
  • ("When blocking an attack", "you get a +1 cutting next turn")
  • ("When blocking an attack", "this removes one of the opponent's offensive advantage actions.")
  • ("When you bring an opponent of-balance", "you get a +1 cutting next turn")
  • ("When you bring an opponent of-balance", "this removes one of the opponent's offensive advantage actions.")
(These examples are not balanced!)

The manoeuvres would have to be a little more powerful than usual, as you need to invest in at least two (one condition, and one finisher) manoeuvres to get any effect at all.

----

The new advantage action scheme allows interesting conditions and 'token use'. Manoeuvres can base themselves on things like "When you have at least two offensive advantage actions" or "sacrifice one of your defensive advantages". Care should be taken that this doesn't become a 'stack defensive, burst win' thing.

----

We want styles that do not allow 'regular' hilts, to force people to pick and choose, instead of just going regular saber cause they can use all styles. We might need to make a diagram of what styles allow what, and how a Jedi could conceivable move through these styles during a combat.

----

We could make a style that allows a wide range of hilts/sabers, but have some (or all) of the manoeuvres require a certain type of hilt or saber. This would signifiy the development of the style into a more specialist style (and allows others to pick up the style as well without being immediately force into a single paradigm).

----

A throw special manoeuvre: style should require dualwield, manoeuvre should require Telekinesis 2+, can execute a single attack at range. Dunno about actual statwise effects (maybe ignore 1 defensive advantage?)

I don't think Vapaad should be tier 2 or and have a potential follow up. As what I understand from the stance is that Vapaad is 'the master fighting style'. The style only the very good can learn, and is on top of the style-chain.

Everything is still open to discussion :) Point is, very little players will be able to actually grab a Tier III style any time soon. I have no problems with showcasing a Tier III style, but don't expect it to be actually obtainable within the next year or so :P

Suus mahna can be used um-armed and with a one handed defensive weapon or shield.

Thank you, but I was already fully aware of that...
