Making a Jedi

Hello, I'm reading around and currently thinking up a Jedi.
What I want to do is have a scythe, it isn't quite a conventional weapon but it seems like fun:

The issue is, is this allowed and assuming that what choices would I make for the lightsaber creater.
Brend recommended a Lightsaber - Dagger - Force Pike but the daggers do piercing damage and a scythe would do slashing.

An idea is to have a regular lightsaber of your taste, and to have the scythe as an extra, special weapon. I believe Brends Jedi, Padawan Shebi Ajava does have a special bow as extra weapon with his own style. Maybe you can do something like that.

However, Scythes do not have proven themselves to be effective weapons in combat, so you might want to think about that.

I think he's looking for a light-scythe, not a secondary weapon...

So that's why I suggested the pike hilt, maybe coupled with a regular blade and a custom style.

I don't see a problem with a light-scythe. However, I do believe we need to universalise the rules for this a bit.

I propose that we allow a Staff length handle to be used with all four types of blade (dagger, short, regular and long). The angle of the blade to the staff is an aesthetic choice so the bonuses of the weapon will be clear. This allows us to add the option to the saber builder easily without needing to redo for various possible blade angles and locations.

Secondly, I want to make a note to all people using Staff Length handles - with the exception of Shii-Cho, none of the current saber styles allows you to use such a weapon with that style. It may therefore be beneficial if a new style is created specifically for staff-length handle weapons.

Ataru Usage Limitation: Requires a lightsaber with a regular, short, or dagger sized blade

So with a staff-length handle you can still use Ataru so long as you have a regular, short or dagger size blade.
However with a staff-length handle you may have trouble dealing many light blows.

You might whir the blade around instead of jabbing? That might count as light blows?
Just FYI: my Jedi has a staff with a short blade (because that is the only choice allowed at this moment >_>), Shii-cho AND Ataru because the rules allow it with the way it is now. I guess creating a custom style is interesting as well. Maybe when I suddenly get some inspiration....

You are correct, I misread the requirement. Still a staff style would be awesome!
