The Jedi Counsil has put out a new mission for three Jedi Padawans - Contact lost, a group of Force Sensitives, that maintains regular contact with the Jedi Order, outside the Union sent a signal on an emergency channel a few days ago and there hasn't been any contact with them since.

The planet the group resides on is isolated and the population is somewhat primitive. Padawans that apply are expected to be able to get by with an absolute minimum of advanced technology.

This mission will emphasise the use of the Force. Not just it's power but how it's used as well.

((OOC: Posting frequency is once a week. Mission reward will be 1 force power. Once three padawans have applied I will start the mission.

[T'Sal]

T'sal applies for the mission. With her technical knowledge (including primitive) and languages skills, she will be a great asset. She is curious and wants see how other force sensitive are.

[Master Leithor]

The padawans gathered in one of the briefing rooms. It seemed they were the only ones there.

"Welcome."

A middle aged man stepped from a shadowy corner. The padawans could have sworn there hadn't been anyone there a moment ago.

"For those of you who don't know me, I am Master Leithor."

He looked at Shebi Ajava.

"Padawan Shebi, I am sorry but I can't allow you to join this mission. Your talents are better suited for more important things."
((OOC: I'm very sorry but I'm not increasing the party size. I considered who to kick out very carefully but I still feel really bad about this. I'm willing to make it up to you, just PM me.))

He looked at the rest.

"We have recently lost contact with a group of Force users outside the Union in sector 16 1. Before we lost contact we received a communication with nothing but static, but the channel they used was for emergencies only.

Because of the primitive and peaceful nature of the planet they live on you three should be fine. Apart from your lightsaber and a communications device you may not take any advanced technology with you.

Now go and gather your gear and report back to me when you're done."

"Yes master", Shebi Ajava replied.

"Good luck, and may the force be with you.", she said to the others before leaving.

[T'Sal]

T’sal looks curiously to the big feline padawan.

“Master leithor, could you please more precisely describe with what you call ‘advanced technology’. As them seem to be able to contact us, they should at least have electronic devices.”

Having been taught science from a historical perspective T’sal wants to know the exact state of their technology. She walks to master Leithor and shows a technological overview on her datapad.

((OOC: Being a complete nerd. So where do you draw the technological line? After that I can pack appropriate))

[Master Leithor]

"Ah yes, my apologies.

The planet you will be going to is at the beginning of an information age. The device they use to communicate with us was brought by members from the group of Force users that where born in the Union.

You can't bring things like blasters, current energy storage devices or hover devices and the technology you bring must be fitting for that time.
((OOC: Think of taking tech we have now IRL.
Example: you list taking a 'primitive portable computer' your taking a current day laptop.))

If that was all, please proceed in getting ready."

[Nalan Passik]

Nalan wondered why the absence of heavy technology was so important . But it would have to be clear once they arrived at their destination. Nalan packs light with her two lightsabers and a small communication ear piece to keep contact with her party members.

"I am ready to depart" she announces with a smile.

[T'Sal]

T’sal goes to her rooms to retrieve her stuff. She a has a small workshop where she can tinker on old machines. Currently she is working on a miniature steamboat, but there are also some clockworks and transmitters standing in the shelves. T’sal goes to the cupboard with old electronics and grabs an old portable computer. She boots is and checks it out. She would need to make some adjustments and makes a todo list. She sets S4 on the task while she gathers the rest. To determine what kind of cloths she needs to bring with her. She looks into to computer to find some information of the sector [16, 1]. T’sal packs her cloths accordingly. S4 is beeping that he is ready with the old portable computer. She puts it in her shoulderbag with a transformer adapter (so you can load the battery from any power supply) and her historical engineering kit. She gives S4 some final instructions before she leaves and pets him.

Fully loaded T’sal goes to the meeting place wearing her green chemisette and her Jedi cloak. She has a backpack and a shoulder bag.

Before leaving to find gather his stuff, he briefly introduces himself as Jareth Lightfang and thanks master Leithor for allowing him to join this mission. He then goes back to his room to store his more advanced technology, such as his blaster and rummage about for some of his old equipment, which was nearly obsolete when he first got it, but never could be bothered to throw away.

[Master Leithor]

Master Leithor looked to the three padawans and the equipment they brought.

"It is good to be prepared, but you don't need to bring anything to spend the night. Pack light, you will need to rely on stealth as much as you will need to trust the Force."

((OOC: @T'sal: I think a terrain map will be better than a star map, you can also loose the spend the night stuff.
@Jareth: your strength is high enough for the steel vest not to slow you down, note however it will offer no protection to lightsabers, blasters or firearms. You too can loose stuff for spending the night.
@Nalan: packing light is good but please post an list of what you take in OOC.))

"I will now tell you why you can't bring any advanced technology.

While the inhabitants know there are more races outside their world, their technology is primitive. If they where to gain certain technologies they could potentially destroy themselves.

That is why you must make sure the force users are safe and any technology that wasn't developed by the inhabitants is kept from them for their own good."

He paused and looked each padawan in the eyes.

"Are there any last questions, before you leave?"

[T'Sal]

After master Leithor words T’sal decides to pack lighter and drops her backpack. She loses some weight and she gets another shoulderbag for the old portable computer where she puts the engineering kit in as well. The rest goes into her regular shoulderbag. T'sal takes a final look and after she is satisfied she stand ups. She is ready to go and find the lost group, but for doing that she needs more information.

“Master Leithor, could you tell us more about the group of force sensitive’s. With how many are there they and what can they do?

Nalan awaited patiently for the awnser T'sal would get. After a reply has been given Nalan speaks up

"And besides that fact. You say we lost contact with them. But why are they there? Are they born there or send there from here and what is their purpose there?"

Jareth also decides to store his sleepingbag, canteen and steel vest for lighter travel. He returns in time to hear the questions about the initiates and he too expresses his interest in knowing more about them and their purpose.

[Master Leithor]

"They have 42 members and their abilities with the Force range from very low level to about the strength of a Jedi Knight."

Master Leithor said looking at the three padawans.

"The group was originally founded there, we came across them by chance and sensed we shared a connection to the Force. That was the basis on which we made contact.

They are total pacifists and have dedicated their lives to the Force."

He took a long look at the three and nodded with a confident expression.

"Your top priority is the safety of the group and it's members. See if you can restore communications as well.

Now, off you go. And remember keep contact with the planets population to a minimum."

And with those words he sent the padawans off, taking a step back into the shadows and disappearing the same way he appeared.

The padawans landed a little distance away from the monastery the Force user group lived in. The ship they arrived in took off after it had dropped them off, the pilot told them they would only need to radio him when they where done and he would come and pick them up.

The Padawans found themselves in an open spot in a forest. In front of them stretched a path. T'sal's map told them it would lead to the monastery.

Nalan looked around her on the open spot and pondered. But for now there rests nothing more to do then to just get to the objective group and see the situation.

If the rest of the group agreed Nalan starts to walk the path towards the monastery. Keeping her senses keen to her surroundings.

[T'Sal]

"The monastery of the group is at the end of the path. It is not so far."

T'sal follows Nalan and walks down the path. T'sal takes also a good look around during their walk to get to know their new environment. What kind of forest is this (sort of trees/plants) and what kind of wild life is present?

Nalan and T'sal where walking along the path. Jareth was lagging behind.

After a half hour hike the padawans arrived at a clearing in the forest. Just across the clearing was a large templelike structure.



There was a strange disturbance in the Force around the structure. It felt to empty.

There was no one around either.

It was clear Jareth wouldn't be able to enter as he was far to big.

[T'Sal]

Upon entering T’sal first takes a good look around to get an idea of the general lay-out of the temple. She then reaches out with the Force and tries to find out more about the disturbance and its source.

"It seems a little bit too quiet here."

"We will check around inside Jareth , maybe you can check around the building for anything suspicious."

Nalan enters the building together with T'sal and checks around together with T'sal to get a better feel of the situation.
