Shaedys looked around the arena, sizing up suitable places to gain a high ground advantage and soon finding one.

Shaedys went on the offensive, running at Nalan with his lightsaber. He then exchanged some blows, paying little head to his own defense and instead carefully measuring the strength of Nathan.

As fast as he had come at Nathan he would back off again, making a jump onto the generator in the middle of the room followed by a more powerful jump onto the second floor of the arena, gaining a good vantage point from which next to strike or defend.

Cracking resounded through the arena as Nathans lightsaber clashed with Shaedys'.

As his opponent moved to the high ground Nathan moved to the pool and stuck the blade of his sabre into the water.

The water flash boiled creating a small explosion of steam, Nathan's metal skin had no problem handling the hot vapour.

Using his telekinesis he covered a part of the arena in a cloud of steam, hiding him from sight.

Trigiel has been on quite some mission with Trigiel and he has quite reflexes and good sight. He is a jumpy type so T’sal is not surprised by his actions. Luckily jumping follows the laws of mechanics so T’sal could use her wits to determine Trigiel Trajectory and interrupts his movements. T’sal moves closer to the object at the other side so he cannot hit her without crashing into it. When Trigiel comes in T’sal ducks and comes jumping upwards to hit him and put him off balance. Her light saber flashes in the sudden upwards stroke to meet him mid air. T’sal continues her jump to the second floor where she takes a look around down on Trigiel.

Ajava vs Nebesnogo

Nebesnogo hesitated but a moment, but it was too much already. Anticlimactic as it was, in one swoop, Ajava connected her blade with Nebesnogo, who's offensive position left him unable to defend against his superior foe.

((OOC: Ajava: A feint and acrobatic attack is appropriate for a direct combat action and the action was posted well in time. Thanks for clarifying it was an offensive direct combat action. Shebi Ajava is clearly more manoueverable than Nebesnogo, so the check of 13 is sufficient. APPROVED

Nebesnogo: I don't have a post from you, so as much as I hate doing this, I cannot modify the results. Shebi's 7/9/7 opening simply outclasses your 6/6/5 defences, so I'm afraid going on the offence to open and not posting a change to Shii-Cho was a mistake which cost you the match. Sorry.

Shebi Ajava wins!))

Ariana vs Nalan

Nalan and Ariana's fight began slow, with Ariana dictating the action and gaining advantage, as Nalan was helpless to stop her.

((OOC: Ariana: Flying up to gain high ground is reasonable, and high ground is established as a proper offensive advantage action, so the action is allowed. I do not think Strength is the appropriate score here as your advantage stems from your flying position, not from keeping Nalan below you. I therefore applied Fitness instead of Strength for a total score of 8. 8 is a bit of a borderline score, but you have two advantages: you can fly (while Nalan can't) and you can use the terrain (swimming pool) to your advantage. I therefore rule your actions APPROVED

Nalan: I don't have a post from you. If you fail to post in this round, you automatically forfeit the match.))

Nathan vs Shaedys

Nathans blade fizzled as it touched the water, while Shaedys made his way up to the second floor. Since the weapon itself had not gotten wet, there were no other consequences except steam of course, the weapon reactivating when it was removed from the water.

((OOC: Nathan: A cloud of steam wouldn't fill the whole room, however I think it is a creative use of the environment which I'd like to encourage, so I'll allow it. Just to be clear, this does not fill the whole room, just an area of it. However, using the steam to hide is entirely reasonable. Looking at Shaedys' stats and yours it barely passes. APPROVED

Shaedys: An offensive action is a tad vague. Please specify whether you are taking an advantage action or a direct combat action. I am going to presume you are aiming for an offensive advantage action since otherwise you'd have said where the bonus lies, but please do specify this next time. Moving to high ground for this is APPROVED))

T'sal vs Trigiel

T'sal and Trigiel both fought to gain high ground, and though neither could take the advantage just yet, Trigiel would have to be careful, as T'sal seemed to be on to his jumping plans!

((OOC: T'sal: You are trying to gain high ground, which is well established as a way to gain advantage. I do not believe Intuition applies here - you are getting your own advantage, not cancelling Trigiels. Even with Fitness, which is more appropriate, the move is APPROVED.

Clarification: You cannot both cancel someone else's advantage and claim your own in one check. It requires two. Thus, it takes two rounds to complete.

Trigiel: You are trying to gain high ground. That is an acceptable move (and very popular today). APPROVED.

Note: I understand that there is some oddity in both of you claiming a high ground advantage. I see Trigiel using the various objects to jump between while T'sal uses the second floor. If that hadn't been the case I would have cancelled the two out, but since you're using different things, I'll let it stand as is.))

All Nebesnogo saw of the battle was a blur of motion from Shebi Ajava. He had tried to move but his arms were just to tired after the battle he had with Trigiel and could not defend himself in time.

Then Shebi was in his face and he could not hold on to his lightsaber as she smacked it from his hands. Then her follow up hit him knocking the little Mudry on his butt.

Nebesnogo looked at his hand where his lightsaber should have been and then up to Shebi Ajava who was now positively towering over him with him sitting on the ground. "Wow I did not think it would be this short." he said as he crawled to his feet. "Congratulation on your victory I'm sorry I was not a better opponent for your final match." he said with offering his hand to shake.

After flying around the swimming pool Ariana waited for the right moment to strike, she dropped down to the water level coming straight at Nalan and tipped her regular bladed lightsaber in the water for a very short moment. A small amount of hot water and steam formed around her lightsaber. After quickly pulling her lightsaber out of the water to block one of Nalan's attacks she pushed the hot water and stream towards Nalan's face to disorient her. While Nalan had to evade the hot water and block the regular blade Ariana cunningly cut Nalan with her dagger in the side.

Trigiel felt that he had to fight hard if he would win this match. T'sal being a natural force user surely worked against him here. He jumped away to a place with some rods next to him. Those rods gave him an idea: He lowered his saber, taking the stance known as the 'fools stance'. Open, but very flexible. He waited for T'sal to attack, but right in her charge he cut the rods to let them fall in front of her, blocking her attack. Allowing him to defend her cutting attack before repositioning near the swimming pool.

While he was fighting, he wondered if the pipes and tubes were containing something. He used his sensitive optics to see what he could find out.

Trigiel and T’sal both seem to get into a good position. After the first exchanges it was now time for some real action. As Trigiel is a good fighter T’sal has to press on to get the edge. Trigiels jumps up and takes a ‘fool stance’. T’sal is surprised but decides to charge in full power from above to beat him down. T’sal is moving in closer and she unleashes a flurry of blows, she includes some feints attack to surprise him. But as the gets next to him he cuts the rods and her attacks are partially blocked. T’sal has to evade the rods and with Trigiel flexible stance he makes some well-placed attacks towards her. She continues pressing forwards and drives him backwards towards the pool.

Shaedys then charged at that position by jumping straight down, making a whirlwind like motion to disperse some of the steam directly around him. Ariana vs Nalan

((OOC: I do not have a post from Nalan, so I'm afraid that ends this match :( Ariana wins!))

With Nalan unable to keep up with Ariana, the battle was soon settled as a flash of hot water hit Nalan in the face and caused her to fall into the water just as Ariana connected with the saber.

Nathan vs Shaedys

Chasing after one another, the two Jedi forced one another back, ending their defensive and offensive advantages respectively. In the cat and mouse game, Shaedys appeared to have the advantage, putting Nathan off balance!

((OOC: Nathan: the forcing the opponent off the high ground is somewhat dubious, though I like the saber-through-floor idea. I'm not saying that'll always work, but I think we can do so here, especially since Shaedys actually moves down in his post. Therefore I will allow the action. 11 is enough, so APPROVED

Shaedys: using the force to find someone in the steam is reasonable, I will allow that. Again, the forcing the opponent out is somewhat dubious, but I imagine Nathan has to leave the steam to chase Shaedys out, so I will allow it. 10 is enough as Nathan is not as powerful as Shaedys, so APPROVED.

Nathan has been put off balance. Please don't forget to note this next round.))

T'sal vs Trigiel

Both of the Jedi pushed one another, and so evenly matched, they soon found they had both taken too aggressive a stand, exposing themselves and pushing one another off balance. Neither Jedi would gain much advantage out of that, but both of them needed a moment to settle themselves.

As they struggled to regain their balance, Trigiel noticed that there were no signatures of heat in the pipes. Ultra violet light and night-vision zooms would not be helpful either, but come to think of it, this arena was probably a fake, set up specially for the match - that likely meant nothing was in the pipes.

((OOC: Trigiels stats are correct. Notice he switched styles.

Trigiel: a creative use of terrain which seems reasonable to me. The DC of 9 against T'sal is as well, so APPROVED.

T'sal: I think it makes sense you are pressing forward, however charging is more of a Direct Combat Action than an advantage action. I'm afraid that means I have to say DENIED.

Both T'sal and Trigiel bring one another off balance! First for Fwurg ^_^))

Trigiel is now with his back to the pool. T’sal reckons that he is up to something and decides not to continue her direct charge as it does not seem to be very effective. T’sal stays back and waits to see what Trigiel wants to do. Knowing him he will definitely come at her with something. So she stands still and takes a defensive stance. But this does not mean she is not going to attack, if fact T’sal is secretly planning a counter-attack strategy.

When Trigiel comes at her she makes a quick side step and then turns around her axis. She moves towards his unguarded side and making use of the momentum of the spin T’sal makes a power cutting attack towards Trigiels shoulder.

By taking a look at the pipes and tubes, Trigiel saw that they were empty. A good thing as he now could destroy them safely, at the other hand a bad thing because now he could destroy them safely. T'sal could not easily win from Trigiel, but neither could he and she had the upper hand. To late he realised that he missed his opportunity to win, so he had to be exceedingly clever if he ever would like to stand a chance.

With his back to the pool, and T'sal taking a defensive looking stance, he had an idea. He did an attack towards her, but she did a well known counter attack. Although Trigiel knew this attack, it was still hard to counter it, thats why it was well known, the move was so damn effective. The best way to counter it is to be faster, luckily, Trigiel is faster. In one move the cyborg deactivated his short saber which shoved back into his waterproof pocket, and activated his regular length saber in his other hand, instantly protecting his previously undefended rear. He continued a spin back to the pool and with a mighty blow he cut the side of the pool. With a telekinetic push his aim was to create a big hole for a big wave of water.

Nathan was in trouble and he knew it. He would need to change the game, if he wanted any chance of winning.

Exchanging a few blows with his opponent, he started a complex and potentially dangerous move.

With an upward one-handed slash Nathan created some free space in front of his opponent. Stepping forward he turned his back to the human so that he was now in between Shaedys and his lightsaber.

Grabbing the hand that held the weapon with his free hand, Nathan managed to lock his thumb and index finger around to top of the sabre's hilt. Squeezing the hand, he succeeded deactivating the weapon and simultaneously deactivated his own.

Reaching over his shoulder he grabbed Shaedys' collar with three fingers, using the other two to hold his own lightsaber hilt and threw the smaller Jedi over his shoulder onto the ground. A quick jerk at the right moment freed Nathan's opponent's sabre from it's owners hand.

Nathan reactivated both lightsabers and waited for his opponent to get back up.

Shaedys phased out for a moment as he figured out his strategy for the next few moments, glancing over the terrain for anything he really wanted to use but then instead remembering the last fight he had done versus Ajava.

Using this knowledge Shaedys ran closer to Nathan, using his force speed to come in close and stick there. Once there he would start a barrage of attacks on Nathan, trying to stick close to him so that he could not dissuader again and Shaedys could keep on the pressure.

Nathan vs Shaedys

Neither of the Jedi was able to get their intentions done, but with Nathan off balance and outclassed by Jedi who was his senior in battle, Shaedys soon managed to push Nathan off balance once more!

EDIT: I miscalculated the values. I can't see how, but I did. It has been corrected. Appologies!

((OOC: Nathan: Unfortunately, the rules of the game do not allow disarms. THere is a Sun Djem manoeuvre for the Shii-Cho power, but you don't have that manoeuvre and you cannot use it under these circumstances.

I might be inclined to give you some additional leeway because Shaedys really was very late, but even if I had just taken his regular stats from last round, he'd have put you at unbalanced, so it really wouldn't matter. Having a Force Level on you, he really holds the advantage.

I am afraid your action is DENIED.

Shaedys: I do not believe 'keeping the pressure on' by making a barrage of attacks really gives you an offensive advantage. I denied a similar action from T'sal last round for this exact reason. Your action is therefore DENIED.))

T'sal vs Trigiel

Neither of the Jedi managed to really pull off their tricks, wanting to do too much in too little time. T'sal managed to gain some advantage though, owing to her more effective attack as Trigiel switched sabers. With a solid attack, she managed to put her opponent off balance again, while regaining her own balance.

((OOC: The Direct Combat Action was posted in time.

However, both you you have listed two checks for your report for doing different things. You are only allowed to take one action. Thus for T'sal, she could either feint being defensive and then suddenly countering, or she could set up for a powerful counter-attack. From your actions it is unclear to me whether the powerful counter or the feint is the key element in your move.

Likewise, Trigiel makes both a saber switch manoeuvre to defend himself and a 'open up the pool' trick. That's two moves as well, and it is again unclear which one is the key element in your move.

I said in my opening post, I would pay special attention to action amounts and conditional actions, so I'm afraid I can't give you leeway on this. For this reason, both manoeuvres are DENIED.

Ironically, this does not change the outcome, and Trigiel is off-balance, while T'sal restores her balance.))

Both Jedi dance around each other and while T’sal regained her balance Trigiel had still some difficulties. T’sal sees how Trigiel tries to make a hole in the pool wall. If he wants to fight with water T’sal goes all in. T’sal quickly closes in on Trigiel and makes a big sweep towards him. When he starts to dodge she continues her attack towards the hole as to make it bigger.

T’sal continues where Trigiel had left. She gathers the force around her. She creates a big wave and tries flushing Trigiel away. While the water comes from the front, T’sal jumps and lands behind Trigiel. T’sal makes quick cutting attacks at mid range as not to get caught by her one wave and not to let Trigiel get away.

Shaedys looked around the terrain for anything he could do however he did not notice any immediate opportunities therefore he jumped himself out of the cloud and the lower floor and onto the second floor. There he ran around a little clockwise to the arena, making speed before he jumped right back off again straight towards Nathan as if charging. At the last moment he would focus and use the force to alter his course upward, making a somersault over Nathan while swinging his lightsaber defensively. Shaedys would then act as fast as he could, landing behind Nathan and spinning around and in a fluid motion making a stab with his lightsaber at Nathan. As Shaedys moved away from him, Nathan moved back to pool.

When his opponent jumped during his charge, Nathan used the Force to speed up and dodge Shaedys' stab.

Trigiel had to defend himself somehow. His attempt to break the glass failed, now he understood why. 'Be one with your environment' echoed his lessons trough his head, 'be your environment[/i]!'. He never should have tried to make a move to break the glass. Instead, breaking the glass should be his defensive move. 'Don't let your disadvantage be in the way to reach your goal, use your goal to your advantage', continued the echo in his head. Trigiel knew what he had to do now.

He saw what T'sal wanted to do, and played along. They went with enough missions together for him to see her mistake even before she thought herself of making the move. He let her close in, dodged her attack and let her think she had time to gather some water. As T'sal undoubtedly struggled why she couldn't get the water, Trigiel used this moment to open a well timed crack in the basin. The moment T'sal attacked again, probably thinking she was going for the winning move, Trigiel destroyed the basin and a big wave of water flowed out of the crack not only slowing her slashing attack, but damaging her lightsaber as well. Trigiel didn't care if his lightsaber was getting damaged in the process as well as long T'sal's lightsaber was destroyed.

((Combat, round 4: Defensive DCA taken.((Check: 9 = 4 Force Level + 4 Strength + 1 Telekinesis -- For destroying the basin letting the water slow T'sal her attack, and try to let the water to destroy her lightsaber. Telekinesis to aid in the general flow of the water.))

T'sal vs Trigiel

A giant splash of water exploded into the area, the burning steel and glass of the pools side wall causing the water to boil and splash out in all directions. Both the Jedi were completely soaked and their lightsabers disabled!

((OOC: T'sal: You can certainly slash into the side of the pool to cut it open. So I will allow the action. Though the wave won't be a lethal threat, it will be present and I think as a Direct Combat Action it makes sense as it does give a situational bonus for the moment its there, so all good!

However, you cannot use Telekinesis to push the water. Though no formal ruling has been made on this, I do not believe Telekinesis even works on fluids, but even if it did, you cannot make a wave, since Telekinesis 1 allows only slow lifting, not harsh pushes. Without Telekinesis, Energy does not really apply, but the key component becomes cutting the basin. I believe that would be strength, as it alters the environment.

I'll get to your success / failure in a bit.

Trigiel: There's some discrepancy as to who is breaking the basin. Both Jedi appear to be. So I'm going with that.

As with T'sal, I am not aproving your use of Telekinesis on the water, especially not in forcing a wave. You correctly use Strength. Your score comes up to 8 then, identical to T'sals.

Both: Considering both your actions, and the timing required, you'd have to cut into the side of the pool very close to one another - and indeed this is what you both appear to be doing from your description. I'm therefore going to rule that you both get hit by the water and I will approve both actions as a result.

Both Trigiel and T'sal will get soaked, and both of your lightsabers are disabled by the water for a duration of two turns. This means next round you cannot attack with your lightsaber (even if you have a spare - as per the rules switching to it requires a round).

That said, Trigiel is still off balance next round!))

Nathan vs Shaedys

Shaedys charged and jumped over Nathan, who hurriedly tried get out of the way. He was fast enough, but not able to avoid the feint even with his speed, and Shaedys connected the blade to his opponents body.

A bell was rung and Master Screetor moved in to announce Shaedys the winner of the match!

((OOC: Shaedys: A charge and feint seems like an acceptable offensive Direct Combat Action to me. I wouldn't allow it to be used multiple times in a row as the trick'd get old, but this is acceptable. You are trying to outmanoeuvre a quick opponent, but I think 12 qualifies you as being successful in this endavour. APPROVED

PS: I only just noticed you list yourself having a curved blade and short handle. I think this should be reversed.

Nathan: I understand you are trying to dodge the opponent, but that is presumed. You mention using Force Speed, which is allowed and approved, but I don't think simply moving out of the way really qualifies as a defensive DCA. I considered this carefully as denying your action effectively means you lose the fight, but in this case I really cannot justify approving an action that basically does not do anything but move somewhere. Your action is therefore DENIED.

I'm afraid that means Shaedys, this time for real, is the winner.))
