"The shape of ones Lekku allows us to see the connection between Kika'Lekki and an individual" she explained "This is why Twi'lek with the largest Lekku make the best leaders and why noble families often have more than two Lekku. By looking at the Lekku of other species, we can determine their qualities."

Somehow the science behind the Kiva's beliefs seemed questionable, but with the casualness with which the explanation was given, it was quite clear the Kiva at least believed it... and from the nodding, so did Arnia'Evixel.

((OOC: Please do ask more questions if you wish, but if not, I want to move us along to the meeting with the noble. It means you will leave the current location and possibly not return. Please let me know if you are ready to continue.))

"I see. Than you must not have a high opinion of me...", Ajava left the sentence hanging in the air.

Ajava turned to the twi'lek girl.

"Let's go", she said out loud, followed by a much softer follow-up: "I would love to earn another kiss by bringing you home."

((OOC: Ready to continue.))

The first thing Trigiel thought about were artificially long Lekku, it would be too easy to become leader here that way, it probably didn't work that way.

He had nothing to ask, and was ready to go as well. "Thank you Kiva, for these great gifts, we will honour them and make sure they will be used to bring Arnia'Evixel safe and sound back to her family."

"You have been most helpful." The Kiva concluded, turning around and heading back into the temple as the two Jedi and their charge left.

Soon the Jedi made their way back to the noble running the space port, and after giving him his gift - or more accurately bribe, as a gift of money to get someone to do something is usually described, and a speeder was summoned to take them to their final destination, the Evixel clan.

Desert land shooting by underneath, the speeder raced towards their destination as Arnia explained:

"When we arrive they will be somewhat suspicious but hopefully the gift will reassure everyone... then we'll probably be taken to the elder and I can present my gift and then hopefully everything will be all right..."

The girl sounded as if that might be an oversimplification, but the force told the Jedi she was optimistic at least. As they moved on, a mountain came into view, their destination.

((OOC: If you want to discuss any protocol questions or other such stuff with Arnia'Evixel, now is the chance to do so, as without such questions, next post I'm putting you in the middle of clan diplomacy and then you're on your own ^_^))

"So far, nothing has been going as smoothly as I had hoped. Maybe it would be a good idea if you tell us a little about what we can expect? For starters, how can we assure that they won't just take our gifts like the border patrol did?"

to prevent troubles on their way, Trigiel had put on his cloak again.

"Are there any special titles we need to know? People tend to make a great deal of titles and it makes a good impression if we have them correct."

"Of course they won't just take the gifts, that would be really rude to the space port master!" the Twi'lek girl explained. Somehow it was somewhat unnerving that the primary insult would be to the space port master, rather than to them. "In fact, if they refuse the gift, thats when we have to worry... it means they don't want to help us..."

She nodded sagely

"I think you'd best follow my lead on the titles, because it would be too hard to explain to foreigners." she clarified "Except for any Father or Grandfather titles, that you should avoid because you aren't part of the clan, so it'll be different. Though you can say Mother to a Kiva, but you don't have to and you shouldn't do it if the Kiva is still in training and... actually just avoid any family related titles I use in general."

The speeder came to a halt in front of a giant metal door, some ten meters wide and four meters high, in the side of the hill. To the left was an access panel and a security camera, likely where visitors could report in. Outside, several speeder bikes were parked.

"Other visitors" the girl explained as she climbed out of the vehicle "If they belonged to the clan, they'd be parked inside. Nothing to worry about, the clan probably gets some twenty or thirty visitors a day."

Looking at the twi'lek girl, Ajava said: "We'll see. I'm sure they'll want to help us, we're bringing you home, after all."

She walked over to the access panel, and pressed the 'ring' button.

"Insulting the space port master? Not even mother Kiva? Well if they refuses the gift, we can always try to ask for directions." Somehow Trigiel had still some troubles accepting that here everything goes by nobles and masters which were quite demanding as it seems.

"I will not use family titles, unless it is the Kiva, I will use the titles either they present themselves with, or you use. In case of unclear titles, I can always ask." Trigiel rehearsed out loud to check if he had it right.

The Twi'lek woman nodded and soon the giant doors opened into a dark hallway. Or rather, it was not so much dark, just not as well lit as the outside, leading it to seem darker than it actually was.

As eyes adjusted to the darkness, a Twi'lek male came to guide them past another group of guests who seemed to be leaving, heading towards a larger room. In the room a raised platform held a throne that was clearly intended for a Hutt. This cave-like building had no doubt belonged to a Hutt before the Slave Rebellion had taken control of the world - its new owners had found the solid stone structure that formed the Hutt throne too difficult to remove so instead they had adopted it for their own purposes.

The 'throne' was occupied by an older Twi'lek man who had not two but four lekku and who was as fat as a man could be, making him somehow echo the Hutt concept, though it was clear this man was a noble rather than a slaver.

"My Lord, I am Arnia'Evixel. I was freed from the Hutt by heroic Jedi Knights..." she began to explain. The old and fat Twi'lek nodded, but he was more interested in Ajava and Trigiel.

"Jedi Knights... I do not often get Jedi Knights to visit." he observed, which from Arnia's look at her liberators seemed to suggest that this was their cue to introduce themselves.

Ajava pulled back the hood of her robe and took a step forward.

After a curt bow, she introduced herself: "I am Shebi Ajava, of the Veolian Commonwealth. I met Arnia'Evixel during a mission in which I cooperated with a group of ultramarines. I promised I would bring her home safely."

'Jedi knights?' Trigiel thought to himself, 'apparently we have gotten a promotion. Ah well, let's play along.'

Trigiel pulled back his hood as well and took also a step forward. "I am Trigiel, a Teprogrenaian cyborg."

For a Twi'lek from a different part of the galaxy, Jedi ranks were no doubt as confusing as the Twi'lek rules of nobility were to the Jedi, so it was a small wonder they got it right so often.

"Ultramarines? We don't want any trouble with ultramarines!" the nobleman noted, receiving some whispered advise from a much skinnier Twi'lek behind him. "Ah, you are their friends! Excellent! Friends of the ultramarines are welcome here!"

Seeing the conversation go in the wrong direction, the green Twi'lek woman interjected, though why she thought this was the wrong direction remained unclear. Regardless it attracted the nobleman's attention away from the Jedi a moment and towards the woman.

"My Lord, the Jedi have brought gifts to honour the clan." she explained, giving an encouraging look to the two Jedi.

"Gifts? I like gifts!" the nobleman noted, looking back towards the Jedi expectantly.

Trigiel did a step forward and presented the bolt of silk what was given to him by the Kiva with a formal bow. "My Lord, we have brought this fine silk for you. I hope it is to your liking."

"Ah, beautiful fabrics! These shall make for some fine clothes." a servant took the silk after the nobleman had inspected the goods "I do love gifts" he nodded sagely, accepting the gift the Jedi had bequeathed to him.

"I have brought a gift as well." the green Twi'lek woman stated, moving forward to present her gift, a small box that the Kiva had given her.

As the nobleman opened the gift - clearly happy and amused to receive this - he found an egg inside, packed safely in a small nest of some cloth. Looks were exchanged between those receiving the Jedi, followed by nods, as if this was somehow significant and fitting.

"His Lordship accepts these fine gifts in the warm spirit with which they are given. He welcomes our sister into our midst."

A great sigh of relief came from Arnia'Evixel, who was clearly quite happy to hear this.

"This means they have accepted me and will help me settle in." she explained, taking a bow to the nobleman.

"Thank you Milord, you are most kind."

Everything seemed to be going well!

Not exactly knowing how things were supposed to go, Ajava also bowed to the noble.

"We will have to be on our way then.", she said as she made to leave. She felt a pinge of sadness that she had to leave the twi'lek girl behind, but squashed the feeling as soon as she recognized it.

"I take it the clan would take good care of you? Or should we help you to reach your parents?" Trigiel asked, not sure how to continue further.

"The clan will take good care of me." the green Twi'lek girl reassured Trigiel, giving him a warm hug "Thank you for all your help, Trigiel. Everything is going to be okay now."

Twi'lek clan bonds were important apperantly, and having accepted her as one of their own, no doubt the girl would be taken care of.

As the nobleman left to show off the gifts he had received, the girl moved on to Shebi Ajava, wrapping her arms around the Veolian woman "Thank you for getting me out of that place and bringing me home. It is going to be better from now on..."

She kissed the veolian woman on the cheek gently a moment, stroking her green hand over the back of her head for a moment.

"Do write to me though. The Union was an amazing place. I would love to hear about all of your adventures, every once in a while."

Shebi Ajava was surprised by the embrace, but didn't seem in any hurry to get out of the girls arms. She wrapped her arms around the twi'lek, and held her for a moment.

"I will try. I'm not sure how much I am allowed to tell you though, a lot of the things we do are not exactly public. If you are ever on Unity, or in trouble, come find me at the Jedi Temple."

Shebi Ajava seemed a little reluctant to break the embrace, but did so anyway.

"May the force be with you, Arnia'Evixel.", she said as a farewell.

Although it is practically impossible to give a cyborg a 'warm hug', Trigiel loved the gesture and gave the girl a good hug as well. "Good bye little girl, take good care of yourself and may the force be with you."

The two Jedi made their way back to their ship, which had been restocked with supplies (including an expensive bottle of alcohol) and refuelled, courtesy of the local nobleman. Additionally, the navigation computer had been programmed with a route back to Union space which avoided pirate territories. Normally, one might think that this meant someone had broken into the ship, but in this case it had simply been a public upload of navigation data and a normal procedure refuelling and resupplying and nothing had been accessed illegally.

With the ship ready to leave once again, little else was left to be done on this planet...

((OOC: Last chance to arrange anything on this world, otherwise I'm moving to the story wrap-up, which includes a well deserved reward!))

"What a nice courtesy, that bottle, it is almost worth giving it to Arnia'Evixel. Ah well, this safes us the troubles of searching for the destroyer and reclaim our bottle.

Shall we take our leave then?"

If Ajava had nothing else to do, Trigiel asked the flight control for permission to take off and plotted the course back home.

"He he", Shebi Ajava laughed softly, "if we get grabbed again by the Hallowed Vindication, we can be done with it quickly by just handing them the bottle of spirits."

"Please check our systems before taking off. I don't want to explode halfway back."

And with that, the two Jedi flew off, back to the Union and the Jedi Temple to write their report.

((OOC: This adventure took longer than expected and with only two players, everyone has made a high amount of posts. I therefore believe that despite not being announced beforehand, I think a reward is in order. A story page was already created but needs to be finished before the final reward may be claimed, of course.

For this adventure you get a choice of possible rewards:
  • A skill point, to be spent on any skill
  • A force power, to be spent upgrading a Force Power you already know
Choose wisely!))

Shebi Ajava checked over Fecta Trigiel's preliminary report, and made some small adjustments before handing it in with Master Screetor.

"Master. At the planet we encountered the text 'Follow the White Rabbit'. I have made a note of it in the report.

I think it is some kind of rallying call for the Slave Rebellion. Arinia'Evixel told me that the white rabbit is a rallying call for slaves to rise up and rebel against their oppressors. She also told me that it scares the living daylight out of the Hutt. So much even that too speak of it in Hutt space warrants the death penalty."

((OOC: Thanks for the reward ^_^))
