[ Sector 15 -10 ] Escort to the Slave Rebellion
Confident in their abilities with the blaster rifles they hold, the handmaidens were quick to open fire while stepping back to take cover just around the portal. Seeing the three Jedi all engage the kidnapper, they try to take advantage of this by quickly aiming at the largest operative.
Unlike normal soldiers with blasters, who's main method of attack is usually to fire a continuous stream of shots, both handmaidens shoot in short staccato bursts in unison with both of them aiming at different parts of the target's body.
By keeping well-aimed suppressive fire on the largest operative, they hope to allow the Jedi some measure of movement without this devolving into a 3 on 3 melee.

Supported by the Empress' bodyguards, the Jedi moved in violently, lightsabers blazing, but aiming for their opponents weapons.
Ariana and Shaedys moved in on the largest operative, supported by fire from the two operatives escorting the Empress, moving their blades in to take care of the rifle, which the warrior sacrificed a little bit too readily, allowing the jedi to slice the weapon in twain.
Using the opening, the warrior swung around, moving in between Ariana's arms and saber to ram his elbow into the Praetorian's neck, slamming down hard on the throat and knocking the Jedi off-balance!
It was clear this warrior was a skilled one, at least on equal footing with the Jedi! The other two were not as skilled however.
The smaller male engaged Darones - not falling for any of the trickery: this operative had been educated about Jedi and did not underestimate the small guy. Darones simply wasn't able to put up an effective offence against the operative yet as he focussed on his own defences, but neither was the other guy. Despite the operatives efforts to push the butt of his rifle into Darones' face, the Sundarian padawan skilfully avoided any attacks made against him, leaving them in a stalemate.
The woman, not being attacked by anyone, raced straight towards the two Veolian bodyguards. For a moment it appeared as if she would impale them on the bayonet of her rifle, but as they dodged the attack, instead she raced passed them towards the exit ramp of the ship, racing around the corner. Perhaps three well armed Jedi were a bit much for the woman.
((OOC: Ariana: Flanking seems like a fair offensive advantage action. Since you're already in a good position for that with the operatives moving past you, a score of 8 is more than enough.
Shaedys does not state he follows suit. In fact, he moves to a different assailant. However, since he is not taking a different action, I am going to Approved the action despite of this, as it is arguably the intended effect.
Ariana, you have been slammed in the throat by a full speed elbow and are off-balance next round.
Shaedys: you're not taking an action this round, so I'm going to say you support Ariana as described above.
Darones: you are using Soresu to attack while last round you declared you were using Shii-Cho. This is not legal. I am re-calculating your attack as if you were using Shii-Cho, making it 3 / 6 / 4
Your action to feint and trick is fine, but in order to get a Direct Combat Action out of it you need to tell me what you want the bonus to apply to. Since you didn't, I cannot provide a benefit from it.
Largest Operative: The operative moves in very close to Ariana to get inside her attack range. This is a Direct Combat Action and helpful in putting Ariana off-balance. His weapon is now destroyed.
Smaller Male Operative: The attack is not sufficient to harm Darones who has formidable defences. His weapon is still intact regardless.
Smaller Female Operative: Uses an action to attempt to flee the scene. If she is not attacked next round, she will have escaped.))

((OOC: I am confused.
- Arianna didn't attack the largest operative! She attacked the operative that carried the empress.
- Darones did claim an action (though it was hidden rather well): "... trick his opponent into making the first move gaining an offensive advantage;..." (emphasis mine)
- You used the descriptions Large Operative, Medium Operative and Small Operative before. It is not clear who is who. Is the medium operative the woman?
- Who is actually carrying the empress now... There is no mention of a female operative earlier in your posts. Since Arianna attacked the operative carrying the empress, should I assume that the largest operative was carrying the empress all along? Or is the female operative carrying the empress, and fleeing at top speed (without you noting this in your post)...

Ariana made a screech when she was hit in the throat quickly followed by a loud roar when she charged the operative that was holding the Empress. Fueled by anger and knowing that the operative was already unarmed she lashed out at the operatives right leg. Ariana hoped that she could force him to fall. She knew that this could cut his leg in half and lashed out with all her strength.
If the operative would fall Ariana would fly past him, deactivate her lightsabers, and catch the Empress before she would end up under him.

The empress, being only half aware of the battle due to being carried by the large operative, tried to kick the operative in the unmentionables. Unfortunately, he was a bit to large for her to actually reach him, she all she did was ineffectively kicking his chest and belly.
The handmaidens expected the worst, but took the escaping operative as a positive sign. As they saw how the larger operative hit Ariana, they re-focussed their fire on him, as he was clearly the greatest threat right now.

Without his weapon, the large guy holding the empress was at a disadvantage and the full weight of the draconic jedi being tossed into the fray didn't help either! Racing towards him with great aggression, Ariana slammed her lightsaber down at the man's leg, but finding her wrist blocked by the man's arm as he defended himself. A battle of physical strength ensued, with the man providing a remarkable amount of physical power, far beyond what Ariana might have expected. Even so, the strength of her attack forced the man off-balance.
Unfortunately, in her aggression, Ariana failed to pay attention to her defences, leaving herself open and exposed to an enemy who had already shown he was able to hit her. Being off balance already meant he now had a clear shot at her, and neither Darones nor Shaedys appeared able to interfere as they attempted to manoeuvre to a position of advantage and get into the battle properly. As Ariana struggled with his one arm in a battle of strength, the other moved in with expert accuracy, slamming the Jedi in the head with a solid blow. Very solid indeed, as Ariana could feel the room spin, then spin some more before going dark...
The Empress' guards meanwhile did their best to protect the empress, but with the two other Jedi distracted, a melee ongoing risking the Empress being hit and the smaller male operative turning to face them, there was little they could do.
The female operative meanwhile disappeared, having successfully retreated from the battle.
Seeing their ally fall, the Jedi might be inclined to take pause, and the smaller male operative who wasn't carrying the empress took the opportunity, speaking in a modulated voice:
"Al right, enough with the act, get your wounded and follow us! If we take too long fighting with us here, we won't have time to properly set up your heroic escape once we cross the border and then the Fleet might capture you on the way back to Union space and we'll be back to square one! I am not doing another in-promptu fake kidnapping slash rescue!"
((OOC: Ariana - The operative facing Ariana was already very close to her. This makes a Bull Rush a lot harder imho, so while I will allow it as you can also push someone if you're next to them, I am giving a -2 circumstance penalty for it. That said, Ariana is clearly bigger and heavier than the operative. Praetorians are naturally large (but not Huge as per the stats ^_^) so I'm giving a +2 circumstance bonus for that. This brings the final total back to 9. Finally, the operative is carrying an Empress who is making a lot of ruckus. This gives penalties to the operative. All in all, I believe Ariana has sufficient strength to pull this off despite not getting a running start and her Offensive Direct Combat Action is therefore APPROVED.
Ariana's attack is a solid one and enough to put the operative off-balance, but not enough to take them out - this is a special elite warrior, not a common soldier, as you will learn. As a severed leg would clearly be a kill move, I won't let it go there, so instead Ariana's attack forces him to lock in with Ariana and puts him off balance.
Unfortunately, Ariana's defences are even weaker this round than they were last round, due to her being off balance and Shadys and Darones are not exactly helpful here. This places Ariana at a distinct disadvantage that the opponent is capitalizing on. For this reason, Ariana is knocked out of the fight.
That all said, I have also taken a special note here: Ariana clearly risked her life to save the Veolian Empress, above and beyond the call of duty and showing exceptional bravery at the expense of her own safety. This qualifies Ariana for a special reward at the end of the mission.
Empress & Guards - Apologies for not clarifying the defensive action was denied (and is again this round) - a score of 2 simply isn't enough to get out of the way of these elite warriors and really the lot of them are out of their league.))

Shaedys - PC
Shaedys glanced towards the empress, still hanging over the back of the large male operative. Taking into consideration that the female operative had made an escape as he did not himself engage her. Instead not taking enough action in the fight, and now Ariana was knocked out by the large operative as well.
Taking all of this into consideration, he deactivated his lightsabers. This was to signal a peace, but all the while gripping the handle of his lightsaber and being able to activate it again in an instant. Keeping his guard up.
Shaedys directed himself towards the big male operative and said "Hand us over the empress and we can proceed peacefully with this 'in-promptu fake kidnapping slash rescue'. We need a wee bit more info than three spec ops rushing in on our escortee."
Shaedys then glanced over to Ariana again, concerned over her safety, but meaning to secure the empress first as he saw Ariana as being in no immediate danger.

The empress, even though being roughly abducted, had the presence of mind to pick up on the words of the operative carrying her. She stopped trying to kick the operative, and clearly asked: "What exactly do you mean with 'the act' or 'in-promptu fake kidnapping slash rescue'? I demand you put me down and explain what is going on!"

"Shut up, your high-upity-ness." The large operative told the Empress without much ceremony. He was about to get into a debate with Shaedys when suddenly the ship shook and the computer decided to speak up.
"Warning. Docking Clamps are Active. Flight activation may threaten structural integrity and void warranty."
Suddenly a cracking sound went through the ship like none of them had ever heard, metal bending as the ship tore itself free from the docking clamps, leaving part of the hull stuck in place.
"Warning. Structural integrity is compromised. Space Flight is not recommended without an enclosed atmosphere."
The ship took off and shot forward with high acceleration, which was sort of a problem as they were inside the Star Destroyer!
Warning. Colli..."
An explosion followed, blasting open the docking bay doors as the ship accelerated at high speed, almost knocking the Jedi over - the ship shot out of the blown up docking bay doors.
For a moment they seemed to be out clear, but this was just where the trouble began as the engine started to stall
Warning. Structural integrity compromised. Engine output cannot exceed planetary gravity without proper maintenance.
The computer was being very helpful today, but the ship itself was not, as the stalling engine meant the ship was shaking violently and bouncing off the planets surface.
Finally, it came to a crushing halt, but a moment later, the distinct CLUNK of a tractor beam was activated as a second ship began dragging in the vessel, shaking it again.
For a moment the Jedi believed they had been recaptured by the Star Destroyer, but as they ascended ever further upwards, they soon realised it was a different vessel towing them off into space... and luckily into its hull otherwise they would have been de-pressurized in space.
"Was that absolutely necessary!?" the large operative yelled with his deformed voice as the ship finally settled down.

"Shut up." the large operative stated with his altered voice, ramming his elbow into the face of the Empress, hard enough to break her nose if she happened to be holding her face the wrong way, and definitely hard enough to knock her out. For some reason it seemed as if these guys did not have very much respect for the Empress.
As the Empress blacked out, Ariana woke up.
"You were just kidnapped by 'Hutt Bounty Hunters'." the smaller male operative explained, actually making air quotes, which was odd as the symbol did not exist in Ryl, at least not in the same sense as it did in galactic basic.
"The 'Bounty Hunters' are taking you out of Slave Rebellion space. It appears someone has sabotaged the Sacred Vendetta's hyperdrive computer, so they cannot pursuit for at least an hour.
It would surely look bad for the 'Bounty Hunters' if you lot managed to steal that convenient shuttle over there, say twenty minutes from now, and you managed to escape from them in turn and make it to Union Space where the Sacred Vendetta cannot follow you."
From his tone of voice it was clear that this was more of a suggestion than a scenario to be avoided.
Meanwhile Darones made his way to the cockpit where the female operate had taken control of the vessel, having been the one who so brutally overwrote all proper safety procedures to escape in a somewhat brutal and unceremonious manner.
The ship was a wreck, almost literally - it had several parts of it torn off, if it hadn't been in a hangar it would be directly exposed to space and its computers were showing malfunctions in their malfunction handling routine. It would take weeks to repair in a proper dock and anywhere else - like a hangar bay - would simply be impossible. In fact, Darones doubted this ship would ever be space-worthy again...
For the moment it looked as if the vessel the Jedi were on was indeed making its escape, and elsewhere in the hangar bay was the shuttle that the smaller male operative had referred to. It seemed big enough for them all - including the slaves, bodyguards and servants - to fit inside though clearly this would mean leaving the Empress' luggage behind and even then it would be an uncomfortable fit.
((OOC: The Empress is knocked out for the moment. She will regain consciousness when the Jedi have flown off in the other shuttle. Whether or not the operative actually broke her nose is up to her player.))

Veolian Commonwealth - Faction
The two handmaidens, after seeing Ariana go down and Shaedys and Darones disengage, were dumbstruck.
However, as they were the Jedi here, they waited a moment to see what happened next. What happened next was Darones fleeing, and the empress being knocked out with a very unpleasant crunching sound. They did not know what to make of the Jedi's behaviour, but they knew exactly what they needed to do:
"Unhand the empress immediately, or we will open fire!", one of them shouted at the largest operative while the other switcher her blaster to burst mode.
Both handmaidens took aim at the largest operative, but made sure that they could target the Jedi as well, if need be. Remembering the words of the admiral, they suspected that these operatives were sent to 'help' them, but they were clearly not doing so. They knew that they were no match for these kinds of operatives, but they had no other options.
((OOC: I think that someone strong enough to actually disable a Jedi together with the Empress' just speaking to him is just enough circumstance to have a broken nose.
Also: I'm sorry to drop into combat mode again; feel free to overrule the inconsequential two-circle bodyguard ^_^))

-DONK-
Without any ceremony, the Empress was dropped onto the ground, the larger operative simply letting her slip and fall, likely causing some further bruises.
It seemed as if the operatives were not interested in any more fighting now that the primary objective had been accomplished. Without saying another word, they moved to exit the ship through some of the torn holes in the hull, hopping into the hangar bay and moving off, leaving a perfectly good shuttle behind.
This was clearly an opportunity for the Jedi: all they had to do was take their wounded to the shuttle and fly off back towards Union space. With all that had happened, perhaps it was indeed for the best to return home and face the music...
Without any ceremony, the Empress was dropped onto the ground, the larger operative simply letting her slip and fall, likely causing some further bruises.

Veolian Commonwealth - Faction
The two handmaidens, seeing the operatives stand down and leave kept shut about the rough handling of the empress. Instead, one of them went to check on the empress, and then the two unconscious handmaidens. The second handmaiden went to check on the empress' slaves, and then the rest of her retinue.

Darones Rei - PC
Realising that their ship had been damaged beyond repair, Darones left the cockpit and walked back to the other Jedi and their charges.
"Well," he said, "It seems that our 'friends' have managed to fry nearly every single system on board this ship. Without a space dock and the right equipment we can never repair it, nor do I think it will ever become space worthy again. If we are to get out of here, we will need to find some other means of transportation."
He then remember the other shuttle that was standing in hanger bay, seemingly unattended.
"Perhaps we can use the other shuttle in this bay, though it would barely fit all of us. To reach it we would have to leave as much as possible behind, and we would have to be as quick and stealthy as possible. If we are fast enough we might be able to take it by surprise and make our escape."

Mercury - Storyteller
The empress' retinue and slaves were al right, if somewhat shaken, one of them having gotten some scrapes when they fell in the wild shaking of the ship. The empress herself was likewise okay, despite the wounds described earlier - she would likely make a full recovery.
Darones meanwhile took a look at the shuttle on the other side of the hangar: it appeared to be unguarded...

After taking care of the bleeding and making sure that the Empress was allright Ariana left the Empress in the hands of her handmaidens.
After Darones noticed that the ship was unguarded Ariana joined him. "Let's check inside. Follow me." Ariana whispered to Darones.
Ariana sneaked into the ship checking out the layout and looking for creatures in the ship.
((Check: 8 = 4 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 1 Stealth -- Sneaking around in the ship.))
If she would not find anything she would go into the cockpit and do a system diagnostic to see if the ship if ready for a journey.
((Check: 10 = 4 Force Level + 5 Reason + 1 Programming -- Checking the ships systems, checking if it is flight ready.))
If there is nothing inside the ship and the ship is ready for flight Ariana would signal the rest to get to the ship.

Darones Rei - PC
Before going out with Ariana, Darones made some suggestions to Sheadys and the handmaidens,
"We can't fit all our luggage in the shuttle if we are all to come, so I guess we pack light and bring as much food as we can. Ariana and I will go out to see if we can fly her out of here. I suggest you make preparations and be ready to go, we will not have much time."
He then joined Ariana to scout out the hangar bay and the ship.
((Check: 9 = 4 Force Level + 4 Fitness + 1 Stealth -- Sneaking in and around the ship))
Once the vessel would be secure, Darones would settle himself in the cockpit and assist Ariana with full system's check before making sure they where ready to go when all would be on board.
((Check: 12 = 4 Force Level + 5 Reason + 1 Mechanical Engineer + 1 Programming + 1 Slicing -- Assisting Ariana with system's diagnostic and prepping from flight.))
