"I have read all your files. So far I am not impressed. It seems to me that though of you have done their best, others have not."

Although the eyes of the Jedi Master were obscured by his goggles, everyone got the feeling that he was looking straight at them when he mentioned 'others'.

"You are Jedi. It is my hope that you will grow into your role in the Order, but for this, you must give it your all. The fate of the Union and the galaxy may depend upon you. The Order demands constant readiness and vigilance. The day will arrive, and you will know it when it comes, that everything may depend on your ability to do what cannot be done.

Before we begin today's training, get to know your fellow students. I had your files to read through, they did not. If you do not know each other yet, make sure you do before we begin. You will be working together closely, and it will be best if you know what to expect of each other."

Once you are done, I will start to train you. When I am done with you, you will be ever vigilant, and ready for that day, when duty calls you."

((OOC: This is the second basic training. It is meant for Jedi characters that have not yet gone through a training mission.

The reward will be 1 skill point. Posting frequency: about 2 per week.))

After seeing that nobody was eager to go first, Saron Itho stood up and begun introducing himself:

"As you very likely want to know, my name is Saron Itho."

Then he sat down again, awaiting the introductions of the other jedi.

Next Trigiel stood up for his introduction. “I am Trigiel, a teprogrena. I am not a droid.”

Trigiel looked around to see if there were any reactions then he continued: “I understand that not all the species in the galaxy are too fond with my kind, so if anyone have any problems with working with a cyborg, please state so.” He paused again, then: “I can assure you that my appearance comes with certain benefits so I am open for any questions.”

He looked around again, then he sat again.

"Hello my name is Ariana. I was hatched on Praeto 43 years ago. When it comes to combat I chose to fight offensively with both my light sabers. As my master once said: 'Offense is the best defense.' If we need to be stealthy and can not use our light sabers I usually switch to throwing knives."

Ariana looked at the others and continued.

"We praetorians do not judge other races for their appearance and physiology. We understand that it is important to be strong and have a long efficient life. "

“I am T'Sal, a jedi padawan and researcher. As Ariana stated you should not judge a book by its cover. I am familiar with science but not with the advanced cyber technology of the Teprogren. I would be delighted to have a conservation about it later.”

Trigiel seemed to think for a few seconds then he turned to T’sal. “The plural of my race is teprogrena, not teprogren. Although I believe this case is just an error of speech, not ignorance.”

The diaphragm of his optical sensor closes and opend again, like he was fine with the error for this time.

“I would love to talk a later point in time.”

"Good. You will get to know more about one another through working together during the training."

Jedi Master Qun Treen looked the four padawans over, before stating: "The training will be simple. Extraction of two wounded subjects in an urban environment. You can expect resistance, so select your equipment carefully to maintain both mobility and flexibility.

You have twenty minutes to select your equipment. Meet me at training area 27-B.

Dismissed."

((OOC: Please post any equipment you have on you in the next post.

Remember that you can take only one relevant action in a single post. You'll have to wait for the result of your check before you can make the next post, though you only have to wait if you took an action, not if you are talking for example, nor do you have to wait for the other player to get their result.

For now though, a simple post of arriving at 27-B and a list of equipment you have with you will be enough (I suggest bringing a lightsaber ^_^)))

Trigiel went to his room to fetch his stuff. Underway he made a quick assessment of the team. An ICT oriented limëan, defensive in battle. A health and tech oriented praetorian, offensive in battle. Just like himself. A science based hiocan, she didn’t tell but he believed she was defensive in battle. And a very shy mudry. What Trigiel rememberd of him is that he was a small nasty brad if necessary, probably offensive and good with weapons, but he wasn’t sure. Together that makes in the team:

No animals in the team, probably 2 medics, 3 engineers, 2 programmers, 2 weapon experts and 1 scientist. The rest of the skills he just couldn’t remember.

2 defenders 3 attackers.

2 flyers, both offensive.

He could jump pretty well himself and had a grappling hook so a jetpack was unneeded. A stretcher could be fabricated at location, and was thus too much to take along. He was thinking whether he should take his sniper along or not, but he decided it was only a trouble for quick movement in an urban setting.
So he took a first aid kit and some grenades, mostly to blow op defenses and tanks if necessary. There were no vehicles so an engineering kit was probably unnecessary, and someone else would bring it along otherwise, he hoped. Just when he wanted to go back the idea of a small repulsorlift popped in his brain. Really handy for moving a stretcher, but there was no time anymore to look for one so he went back. The last one at the dock he saw. ((OOC: For reference, at arival the others saw him carrying only a small bag and a belt whith some grenades))

((OOC: Equipment:

Build in
• sensitive optics (infra red, ultra violet, night sight)
• Hidden water proof arm pockets for lightsabers
• comm link (So no direct speech is needed)
• Hidden water proof compartments at the side of both upper legs, big enough for a small blaster each.

• Two tonfa handled lightsabers (in arm pockets)
• A small blaster (in right hidden leg compartment)
• A grappling hook attachment 40 ft/ 14 m (as seen in episode 1, during the battle of Naboo) (left hidden leg compartment)

• 3 anti armor grenades))

Jedi Master Qun Treen
NPC

Looking every arriving padawan over, Jedi Master Qun Treen patiently stood between the two closed doors leading to training area 27-B. Once everyone arrived he picked up a communicator and stated: "Please start the preparations."

Directing his attention to the padawan again he stated: "Quartermaster Nishra informed me that some of you think extraction in an urban environment requires the use of grenades."

He sternly looked at each padawan again.

"You are Jedi. Think of the level of control you have over a grenade. Once thrown, it is impossible to control the weapon. A single unforeseen circumstance might destroy the lives of innocent bystanders, or three of you. After this training, do think on the consequences of such an event."

"Once you step through these doors, the training begins. The objective is the extraction of two wounded subjects. You will find the wounded subjects in the red zone. The extraction point is in the blue zone. The mission is deemed a succes only all of you and both of the subjects arrive at the extraction point."

The doors slowly open, offering a view into a wide hallway with bad lighting and rusty walls with graffiti on them. The walls and ceiling are riddled with pipes, some of which seem to leak strangely coloured fluids. The view of the hallway ends with a sharp corner to the right.

"Before you go in. You are not required to drop heavy equipment, but I remind you of the benefits of mobility. You are allowed to leave any equipment you deem unnecessary here."

((OOC: Everyone: I'm afraid I have to disallow some items you have selected. Since the Jedi Order's quartermaster Nishra has been instructed not to hand out heavy ordinance you can not take grenades with you.

Furthermore, I'm giving some advice on some items a have seen on your characters.

Ariana: A portable stretcher (a.k.a. brancard) is not extremely heavy, and can be taken with you as a backpack. Since they still have to carry a grown person, it has a measurable weight. Take care you don't take too much stuff with you -- this will limit your mobility.

T'Sal: Your gogles can easily have heat (the same as infrared) and night vision. X-Ray vision is not possible; looking through walls requires more than a simple pair of gogles. (I'm not even sure whether it is possible to do at a usable resoluation at all without some seriously dangerous radiation -- I'll discuss this with Mercury once he is back -- for now please drop the X-Ray gadget)

Quartermaster Nishra does not hand out any grenades.

A portable stretcher (a.k.a. brancard): see Ariana.

Any forcefield generator small enough to carry can only withstand a few blaster shots, and will certainly not hold against a lightsaber. The problem is the energy requirement of the shield; any generator capable of projecting more than temporary blaster protection requires large amounts of power. This would make the generator wiegh at least 200kg. -- You can take this generator with you, but it weighs roughly 30kg and projects a force shield large enough for two people to take cover behind. It will only block blaster fire, and will overheat under continuous fire.

Nebesnogo: Quartermaster Nishra does not hand out grenades.

Trigiel: Quartermaster Nishra does not hand out grenades.

Please add an updated list of equipment in your next post.))

Trigiel didn't had anything to drop, so he took a look in the hallway, He was really curious about the dropping liquids what it was and if it was harmful or not.
((OOC: force level 4, vision 5, reason 4, equipment: Sensitive optics (infra red, ultra violet, night sight))

He already thought about some tactics: The subject where probably on two different locations, so they needed two teams. But even if the subjects where on the same spot a scout team and a task force team should be a reasonable option. A logical choice would be a ground and air team, but since there was a roof here, that might not be the best choice. A better plan would be to divide the group in a fast and strong team, both equipped with health care, technological know-how, offensive and defence capability's.

Although the final teams are best decided with more knowledge about the field, it is a good idea that everybody have the same idea. "I propose to create to teams, one with Ariana and Saron Itho, a second team with the rest. Unless there it is an open area, then a flying team and a ground team."

((OOC: The others only see a bag as equipment for Trigiel))

As the group walks towards the corner to see what the situation is, they hear a soft hiss of the doors closing behind them.

While Ariana and T'Sal move toward the corner to see what the situation is, Trigiel investigates the coloured fluids. The yellow-green fluid drips from a rusted pipe in the ceiling, and seems a bit to sluggish to be coloured water. Upon adjusting his visual sensors he concludes that roughly half of the pipes contain heated fluid, while the other half contains chilled fluids.

While Trigiel is inspecting the fluids, Ariana en T'Sal move closer to the corner. Looking around the corner, they see that the corridor ends up on a balcony about 5 up in an enormous hangar-like space, easily large enough for mass transit cargo freighter to be stored. As Ariana carefully moves closer to the edge, she sees that the hangar is divided into two areas with painted lines.

The 'red' zone contains a building closely resembling an ancient castle. It is surrounded with a wall with a gate and a trench with a large bridge. The bridge is hoisted, the gate closed, and the wall is manned by droids armed with blade-like weapons. The crenelated roof of the building offers some cover to eight extra droids wielding blasters.

The 'grey' zone seems to form the other two thirds of the hanger. The grey zone is filled with randomly placed boxes, crates and three towers. Each tower contains a large transmitter dish aimed towards the red-zone building. The area around the three towers is patrolled by three hovering sphere-like droids with obvious shields around them. In the middle of the triangle formed by the three towers, a large generator is spewing steam into the air.

At the far end of the hangar, Ariana can make out a seemingly powered down and heavily armoured blue hovercar in a garage-like structure.

T’sal was glad that she had uploaded all the information on droids and security systems onto her notepad. She takes her notepad and takes a spot where she can get a good view.

“Let’s see what kind of droids and offence/defense powers there are.”

With her goggles she is able to zoom in and get a good view up close to distinguish between different droids type/series, adaptations and weaponry. Luckily, her father had taught her quite some history so she knew some things about castles. She also takes a good look at the transmitter dishes and the steam generator. She takes some time to make a good analyze about the strong and weak points and other things which might be interesting.

As an answer to Nebesnogo Sveta's sound check: "I can hear you loud and clear, Nebesnogo Sveta"
((OOC: The party only hear Trigiel over the comm, they don't hear him speaking in a comm))

“It seems that I must redefine the Jedi’s definition of ‘urban setting,’” Say’s Trigiel after seeing the castle. Now knowing what the situation might be, he came up with some additional tactics: “Assuming the droids are all hostile, this does seems to be an interesting challenge. I can think about three tactics:

First; Take out the blaster droids, jump/fly/climb over the wall, take out or ignore the staff droids, find the wounded subject, grab them and jump over the wall to freedom.

Seccond; Go to the armored hover car, use it to assault the castle, after then walk inside, and secure the subjects

Third; A small team lay cover fire while a task force go in and secure the subject.”

Trigiel looked over the terrain to see if he missed something.

“But then there is still the issue of the transmitters and sphere-like droids. They would do probably something. And not to forget, the drop point which I not yet see. This can mean two things:
We need to find it.
The car is the drop point.”
Worried about what the transmitters could do, Trigiel started to study the towers and the transmitter dishes.

((OOC: force level 4, vision 5, reason 4, equipment: Sensitive optics (infra red, ultra violet, night sight

By the way, how high can I jump with force jump? Can I jump, shoot the grappling hook and hit the ceiling for example?))

"We need more information before we can make our assault plan. Why does none of your plans include the transmitter dishes or the generator? The least we can do is disable the generator and use it as a distraction. Although i hope that disabling it lowers some of the defenses. With the information we currently have only your second plan is viable... I will not participate in a frontal assault, we will be heavily outgunned.

First of all we need to study the patrol routes of the shielded droids. We need to find a path to the generator to study it up close. Secondly we should check out the armored car. We should probably be able to repair it and use it. I am willing to give it a shot. We need to study the droids to see if there is a safe route towards the armored car as well."

Ariana studies the shielded droids to check for gaps in their patrol routes. After some time she plans a route to the armored hover car.
