Late at night, while Denari was sleeping in her place at the Jedi temple, she heard a knock on her door. Spades flapped his wings seemingly startled to be woken up in the middle of the night.

When Denari opened the door, TG-100 stood in front of the door, almost covering the entire door frame. Jaicen was nowhere to be seen: "Sorry to wake you in the middle of the night Denari" He said with a metallic voice: "but Jedi Screetor would like to have an audience with you. It is necessary you come right away and follow me. Do you need to put on any clothes?"

As it happened, Denari and Spades were indeed asleep in their room.

Upon being awoken by a knock on the door, Denari put on her trousers, belt with holsterbags and shoes with the brutal efficiency that can be expected from someone who is raised to be used to breaking-up camp at a moment's notice. In a few short moments, she was at the door, about to open it, when her thoughts caught up with her reflexes.

'Why would anyone here come knocking in the middle of the night? Strange...'

Now fully awake, she wearily opened the door a little to see TG-100 standing there.

"Jedi Master Screetor?" Denari asked, somewhat confused. She was awoken once or twice by temple staff on Bisidn, but they always made sure to use proper titles to make clear it was official, serious, business.

Still weary, she re-confirmed her knife and light sabers were on her belt and called Spades to her shoulder.
"No, I've got everything" she replied before exiting the room, not opening the door further than necessary.

She follows TG-100 at some distance, taking careful note about the route they are taking.

"Jedi Master Screetor, yes." TG-100 responded.

TG-100 didn't pay much attention to Denari and walked a few steps ahead of Denari. The route they were taking wasn't that special, Denari had seen the corridors a few times before. The corridors led to a chamber in which Master Screetor was sitting in a lotus position. As Denari entered he opened his eyes and with a soft tone he started:

"Welcome at this late hour Denari, thanks for coming."

He paused a moment and then continued:

"We've send two padawan on a mission to a system called Dac. They are there to investigate an intelligence leak within the Union regarding the slave rebellion invasion from the staging point of their invasion. Due to new information we obtained we expect that they will be in trouble soon. We've already send a subspace signal to their ship, but I suspect this signal might not arrive. Would you be willing to take upon you the mission of helping them succeed at their mission and informing them about the possible danger? We've woken you in the middle of the night because of the urgency."

Denari politely bowed to the jedi Master after he welcomed her and then sat down opposite from him, mirroring his position.

She quietly listened to Screetor's explanation and took a moment to organize some thoughts before answering.

"I am willing to go find them to inform them about the possible danger and help them investigate the intelligence leak." She said eventually. "I do have two things I would like to know though. And four more things I need to know to get on my way as fast as possible."

"Can I see the information that led you to expect they will be in trouble soon? Or else can you at least tell me something concrete on the nature and origin of the danger?"

After the Jedi Master answered, Denari continued with her second question: "What is known and suspected about the intelligence leak so far?"

The answers to her four final questions were not as significant to her, so she asked them all in one go before she got up to prepare to leave.

"A system is big and there are many Padawan. What kind of environment do I need to prepare for, who am I looking for and can I pin-point their location, or that of their ship when I arrive, and how much time do we have before I leave? I need to get a few more things from our room and mail some people from the staff that Spades will be here without me for a while..."

"Allright" Master Screetor answered: "It is good to hear you would be willing to help out."

Then, with a calm voice he then answered the first question, already expecting that the question would come:

"Since the start of the mission we've discovered a listening post within Union territory, which has been installed or converted by some slave rebellion operators in secret. This listening post has been used to spy on the Union. We've picked up signals that they recorded a ship going out to the Dac system. I am quite sure the Rebellion will act upon this data. As you probably know ultra-marines are their usual option. We'd like you to find and extract the Jedi from the system."

He then paused to let the other questions of Denari come through. Pondering on them for a moment: "I'd like you to refer to the system in our database, it will be a water planet. We'd like you to go as soon as possible and you are welcome to bring spades with you, if you can think the creature could help. A ship has already been made available to you. On this ship a scanner has been installed to scan for the ship of our padawans. We would like you to leave as soon as possible. "

He then looked at Denari again.

"Is everything clear to you?"

Denari gave Jedi Master Screetor a confused look and took a moment to go over the mental list of mission objectives before answering if everything was clear to her. She looked quite pensive at first, then an idea struck her and she turned back to looking pensive some more.

"No, it is not clear to me yet. First you ask me to warn them and help them investigate a leak and you later tell me you already found the leak and ask me to find and extract them. Do you want me to find them, warn them, extract them from the system and then go with them to the listening outpost to investigate? Or do you need me to find them, warn them, help them investigate at Dac without having investigated the listening outpost and head back together with them, without any of us getting killed? Can I also find on the database which Padawan I'm looking for? And will the Rebellion be aware of the ship with me also heading for the same system, or has the listening outpost been disabled?"

Apparently the young Theelin had some trouble interpreting things that were not carefully and literally stated as they were intended, sparking another round of questions.

Realising more questions would probably lead to even more confusion at the expense of time, she decides to leave and thrust in the force after the response to this round of questions.

After the response, she gets up, bows and turns to run to their room with Spades flying next to her.

She fetches the data-pad she borrowes from the library for her studies, downloads the information on the system and sent Padawan to it as well, to read during her flight. During the download, she uses her communicator to message the members of staff, that agreed to help take care of Spades for such occasions, and message Ariana to say she won't be coming to their scheduled training until she gets back from the mission.

She then runs to the quartermaster's office to fetch some final equipment and ask if a pilot droid has been assigned to the ship. She has a reputation for returning speeders in significantly worse condition than before she left with it, and was not taking any chances with an actual space ship, even if they allowed her.

She says goodbye to Spades, who is not entirely happy but doesn't protest violently, as she feels Denari is unsure about the whole situation and does not want to expose Spades to situations where doesn't know if she can protect her.

Now ready to leave for the Dac system, she reports to the ship.

((OOC: I'm going to budge in here for a moment: I haven't seen an ST post in [ ] The Long Swim to Freedom for at least 1 month and 1 week now, and it seems there hasn't been anything here for at least that amount of time... Since our companion-at-arms Darones is currently inactive as well (as announced in Going dark for a while), it's just us in this story-line; And without a Storyteller this does not seem to go anywhere.

I haven't seen any activity by the ST, nor any OOC announcement on inactivity. I suggest we give it another two weeks, but after that I'm kinda done waiting.))

Ever since he asked me to join this story-line, I've been poking him on other platforms about twice a week, to either keep things going or to temper expectations by notifying everyone of expected inactivity. Frankly that getting somewhat annoying. Also, being let down every first 3 or 4 times he promises to post is not helping me enjoy the game.

I'm willing to give it another two weeks (until 17-10-2017), but after that I'm definitely done waiting.))

"Find the Jedi, extract them if possible and assist them if possible." Master Screetor answered. "Since the beginning of their mission there have been updates to the situation."

"As far as you are concerned the listening post has been disabled and the Padawan which are in the Dac system are Tera and Darones." He continued with a smile. "They will probably not detect your ship."

The quartermaster provided the ship, also a Tunderclap class to Denari, including a good looking human male pilot named: James Smile. He introduced himself with a smile and was clearly happy to go on an adventure with a padawan: "This is the first time I am actually allowed to fly a jedi, it's great, thanks man! I await your orders of course!"

'Man?' She thought, as she quickly glanced down to check if her body somehow turned from very feminine to masculine. It hadn't. 'Well, he's the pilot, so our respective genders don't matter I suppose...'

"Nice to meet you James Smile." she responded with a smile to his introduction. "I'm known as Padawan Denari Merelle. Set course to the Dac system as soon as possible. Once there, we should be able to scan for one of the Quartermaster's other ships to pinpoint where we need to go exactly."

During the trip, Denari went thought the information she had downloaded from the data base a few times. The rest of the time she stuck to a training schedule of combat training, her study material and meditation, alternated with preparing food for James Smile and herself and keeping him company in the cockpit a few times a day.

When they were almost at the Dac system, Denari joined James Smile in the cockpit to get ready to scan for the ship of her fellow Padawans and otherwise be able to keep an eye on goings on.

((Check: 9 = 4 Force Level + 3 Reason + 2 Tracking and Navigation -- Use the scanner to find Tera and Darones's ship upon nearing, or arrival in the Dac system.))

((OOC: Similar to how Brend/Tera finishes the related topic, I will also assume that the activities so far happened and Denari flies back when she her scanners show Tera and Darones are returning to Unity.))

Just as Denari arrives at the Cala System, Denari's scanners pick up Tera and Darones's ship leaving the planet.

After contacting them and confirming both Padawan are on board and headed back, Denari returns to Unity together with them.
