The Jedi Council asks for volunteers to travel to sector 14 -8 to join a delegation of Union representatives accompanying a relief effort shipment to the United Moons of Tunuarana.

Please contact Jedi Master Qun Treen if you wish to participate.

((OOC: This mission will not feature combat. It might feature politics, diplomacy and mishaps of a logistical nature. This is a follow-up from [17 -6] Of Rockets and Ion Blasters.

Note that you can only participate in a single mission with one character (as per ancient rulings). So if you want to RP your delegation, you should not register with a Jedi and vice versa. Furthermore, I would like to offer other players the possibility to join the delegation as well.

Posting frequency to be determined. The reward will be 0-2 depending on several factors, including success and activity.))

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana reported to Jedi Master Qun Treen as representative of the Praetorian delegation.

"Master, I am here to for the mission to sector 14 -8. Senator Ardios Eldrilith asked me to represent the Praetorian Empire. The Praetorian Empire has arranged for a Praetorian Cruiser to travel to 14 -8 with the trade fleet delivering the aid goods."

[Darones Rei]

Darones arrived not long after Ariana.

"Master, I would like to partake in the relief effort, and represent the interests of the Sundarian Federation. The Federation is likewise prepared to offer assistance, in the form of a few ships from one of our survey fleets, if a detailed geo-logical survey and/or investigation is requested of us."

[Danar Gistor]

A small delegation of various species arrived. In front was a Teprogrenus Danar, clearly the leader. He wore a relative large armour for his relative short size. Directly in front of him was a holoscreen projected by the armour which immediately deactivated when he saw the Jedi.

"So you are the Jedi assigned to be our escort. Ave, esteemed Jedi, I am Danar Gistor. Me and my small team will be joining this mission on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign affairs to investigate the situation on the Moons of Tunuarana. We of the ministry are also very interested to meet the nomads in person who offered to help with the smugglers case.

Let me introduce the main officers of the team:"

Gistor gestured at one person at the time, introducing roughly half the team:

Environmental expert named Bayē Vidagdha, a veolian male,
Medical officer named Rhantra, a vratix female,
Social expert Rosemarin Tjemsk, a rakata female,
And a human male called Frank Road as the humanoid specialist.

((OOC: In general I won't be playing the entire team, they are mostly mute extras who will act and react when convenient or appropriate :). Of course even though they are each experts in their field, I will not hijack the awesomeness of the Jedi.))

[Jaicen Hedoss]

"Well, that were not all the Jedi assigned to the escort, I should've been signed up as well. I know I am somewhat late: blame it on the pilot droid" says Jaicen as he enters into the room with his hoverchair. Just behind him walks another, in jedi robes cloaked, figure of which the face is difficult to see.

"If Jedi Master Qun Treen approves, we will be the neutral Jedi observant on this mission. Neutral, since I represent no state. Furthermore we can assist in places where no race can perform reliably."

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana turned towards the Teprogrenaian delegation and made a subtle bow.
"Welcome Danar Gistor, it is a pleasure to meet you."

After greeting the delegation of the ministry of foreign affairs she turned towards the new padawan.
"Welcome padawan. I am Jedi Knight Ariana Danacia, representative of the Praetorian Empire on this mission. There should be enough room on the Praetorian Cruiser that we will be travelling on. What do you mean with assist where no other race can perform reliably? Aren't you human?"

[Jaicen Hedoss]

"Good day Knight Danacia, nice to meet you. I'd gladly accept your offer." says Jaicen with a somewhat monotonic voice as he turns his hoverchair towards the two Jedi's. "I have recently arrived to the temple after several years in training and have not met many Jedi, I would also like to use this mission to get more acquinted with the way the union operates. As you can obviously see I am somewhat a human, and although I can't get up from this chair, my force powers and my drone handling allow me to view and operate from further away, avoiding hazardous environments, like when people get trapped and stuff."

Suddenly the figure steps forward and the face becomes recognizable as a humanoid droid with two red eyes. With a robotic voice the droid continues: "This is IG-100, my literal right and left arms. He is my caretaker and my more... capable... physical representation"

((OOC: A pointer on the setting: I'd like to take a moment to note that the concept of a distinct Force Power is not present in-character. It is simply the way your character manifests their mastery of the force, not a discrete separate ability; this keeps some of the mysticism in the setting ^_^))

[Darones Rei]

Darones briefly greeted Ariana after he had walked just before the delegation from the ministry of foreign affairs arrived.

"Welcome Danar Gistor," he then greeted the delegation's members, " It is pleasure to make your acquaintance and I hope we can offer the assistance you require from us to achieve the results we all seek."

He then briefly remembered the events of his last diplomatic escort duty, while a new figure appeared together with a custom build droid who introduced himself as jaiden, a young padawan.

" that is quit an impressive ..design.." Drones said as IG-100 stepped in and seemed take over for Jaicen,

" My name is Darones and I take it we'd have much to talk about, though I admit I'm more of a podracer or X-wing type myself."

((OOC: Damn autocorrect xD))

[Danar Gistor]

((OOC: What do you mean with 'Darkness briefly greeted...?'))

"Sorry Jedi padawan," he said to Jaiden, "but I did not caught your name."

After Jaidens reply, or if it took too long, Gistor turned himself to the droid with curiosity twinkling in his eyes. Some sort of blue scanning beam came out of his armor, making what looked like a quick scan from head to toe of the droid. Then the holoscreens popped back up in front of Gistors face, displaying all kinds of stats. “Impressive, this is a much more refined design than I have ever seen. Custom made I presume?”

[Jaicen Hedoss]

"Ow yeah, I should introduce myself as well! Jaicen Hedoss it is". says Jaicen with a slight smile as he turns towards Danar Gistor.

"Thanks for both your compliments, it is indeed custom made to respond perfectly to my physical needs. It is also perfectly capable to defend me if the need should arrise." Says Jaicen to both Danar and Darones. "Piloting a X-wing or a pod is quite different from controlling a drone however, I am not very good at the first. But luckily a droid can do that job for me. But probably not as good as you"

As Jaicen takes a glance at Danar's holoscreen IG-100 points towards the energy output meter and Jaicen says: "The energy reading on his head is not quite correct though, I assume your sensors do not take droids in account who are able to lose their heads, his control crystal and circuit are more internal, closer to his center of mass".

"Anyhow, nobody cares about this stuff, what is the latest status on the moon?" Jaicen concludes.

((OOC: I hope I am not taking over your characters stuff ;)))

[Darones Rei]

"You're quite right Jaicen, we should have ample time to get to know eachother while on route to the Moons." Darones responded,

"Meanwhile we should consider the current situation and our objectives, and also the means by which we are going to get there.
With regards to the current situation, I'm sure Ariana can tell us more.

The matter of transportation however, is one I can say something about already. While a small military escort, as Ariana suggests is very reasonable, if only to protect our tradefleets and support ships, we should exercise some caution as well. We need to prevent any misconception regards this mission, such as a military occupation or otherwise hostile or aggressive action against the moons and her inhabitants. In that light, our military escort should be small enough to pose no direct thread and remain in high orbit, if it even approaches the moons that close.

We should make our entrance in high orbit in a smaller ship, much more suitable for our task, such as a J-type 327 and a small escort of 2 or at most 4 fighters, if we need any at all.

Danar Gistor, how do you feel about this?"

[Jedi Master Qun Treen]

The Jedi master, wearing his brown robes as always, simply remained silent and observed the interactions of the parties in the room. Those that know him well could see that he seems satisfied to remain silent for now.

((OOC: If somebody would be so kind as to create a stub story page for this mission, we can link in related stories and I'll have an easier time keeping track of everything I need to do.

On a related note, I plan on starting this mission somewhere in the coming two weeks. Please make a short OOC note of your preferred posting frequency in the next post -- I prefer twice a week.))

[Danar Gistor]

Gistor looked a little surprised at Jaicen "I didn't expect you to be able to read the Teprogrenaian language. Or were you able to deduct the function from table from its readings? In any case we of the Consensus have experience with different lay-outs of both droids and cyborgs. The table is hexadecimals, this might throw of your perception a little. Though I believe the readings are mostly off because of some foreign elements and constructions which the scanner does not recognize."

Then the Teprogrenus continued on Darones question: "I'm sure that the appropriate amount of landing escort can be determined on location. First making an entrance before landing the whole supply fleet seems a good idea indeed so we, all, can coordinate a ordered delivery of goods. The fleet should clearly fly with the flag of the Union, marked as an official delegation. The moons should already be aware that a delegation is heading their way."

((OOC: @Jaicen: Normally we say stuff about other characters in the line of: 'if your readings are off...' this does not invade the integrity of the other character and still allows you to show your ideas ;). This also prevents possible misconceptions like language and stuff. I tried to let your jedi keep his dignity while explaining in my post :).

@ the ST: I prefer a frequency of 1 per week, but 2 per week is also fine since I don't really make checks and have a minor role in this mission. Although with 2 post/wk I cannot promise to post between every ST post))

Jaicen responds: "Hmm, The droid has an auto-text-translator in his sub-routines, look". Jaicen puts up a screen in in front of him, which shows a view from the eyes of the droid. While looking at the toilet sign in the room, it translates female into Teprogenian. (If the toilet sign is present).

"Anyhow, let's go in several small, but armed, vessels when arriving and leave the big supply ships behind untill their cooporation is secured. We need several small vessels, so that they can't kill us all with one bomb aboard or something. Who is actually going to send the message?"

((OOC: Setting note with friendly intentions: The use of translation matrices and software falls under th auspices of the (trained only) Linguistics Skill. A trained only skill is a skill that must be learnt before it can be used.

That being said, some simple words like 'male' and 'female' are probably OK on a more dictionary-brute-force approach; but actual translation of a text requires the use of specialist tools and knowledge. Because of this, it is good to define what langauges your Jedi speaks on their wiki page. This helps STs to prevent (or create) Babylon problems ^_^))

[Ariana Danacia]

"I am traveling in the Praetorian Cruiser that is provided by the Praetorian Empire. They won't mind to stay in orbit if this is really necessary.

We have a holomail address of the nomads to contact them, we could send them a message beforehand. We can do this enroute."

"That's not entirely what I meant, but I guess it will do." Darones responded to the remark by Danar Gistor and then continued to give a reply to Jaicen,

"Why do you assume the nomads are a thread to use, while they most likely aren't. In fact, if the information given to the Sundarian Federation by Ariana was accurate, which i'm sure it is, they are the ones requesting our aid in this matter. That would mean that they would have no intentions of harming us in any way, since it would jeopardize our willingness to offer much needed assistance. We should however, be careful."

As the ST, I agree with Elmer in this case. As the whole reasoning behind it is too long for this post, I'll send you a PM with some explanation of how Elmer came to this conclusion.

I have no problem with leaving the post as is, but I have no problem with you editing it either. Handle it however you like ^_^))

[Jaicen Hedoss]

Jaicen responds: "I have no idea how politics work nowadays, Since I've heard stories about the Sith and other people, I assumed the galaxy is a dangerous place, anyhow, are we waiting for someone else or can we go?"

[Ariana Danacia]

"Follow me. The Bright Sagittari Emerald is waiting for us. The cruiser is currently orbiting Unity. We will depart in a few hours. You can also rendezvous with our convoy if you have arranged your own transport."

Ariana escorted the group to the docks were several small transport vessels were ready to transport the guests. Several Praetorians were waiting on the vessels. The other passengers included diplomats and some soldiers. Once everybody was on board the vessels departed. After twenty minutes you could clearly see the Bright Sagittari Emerald from the starboard windows.



The cruiser was surrounded by several smaller ships from different factions. People that had good knowledge of Union ships could recognize a few brand new Sundarian surveying vessels among them. Only minutes later the transport vessels docked inside the hangar of the cruiser. The passengers were greeted by several crew members and asked to gather in a large meeting room.

When the passengers on the cruiser were settling in the small fleet waited for the remaining ships to arrive.

[Jedi Master Qun Treen]

The Jedi master remained silent as the Jedi and delegation members discuss.

He simply listens to the arguments and waits for the Jedi to leave.

[Ariana Danacia]

Ariana sat down in a large comfortable chair in the meeting room. She only carried her lightsabers and communication headset at the moment. The rest of her equipment was already in her hut.

"Welcome everybody. I wish you all a pleasant and comfortable flight."

((OOC: Equipment for Ariana:

• Dagger blade and regular blade lightsabers with short handles, worn
• A wireless communicator headset, worn
• Communication pad (A very advanced touchscreen computer device for communication and interfacing with larger systems)
• Aerodynamic Backpack (containing First Aid Kit, Engineers Kit and the communication pad)
• Custom-made Praetorian space-suit with boosters.

[Darones Rei]

As they were preparing to leave for the Moons of Tunuarana, Darones docked his small ship within the Praetorian cruiser's fighter bay and went up to the meeting to join Ariana.

"Good to see you again Ariana, and I must say, a way to travel in style this time.. " He said appreciative of the spacious design and decorations onboard the Praetorian Cruiser."

• His backpack (First Aid Kit, survival equipment and rations for 3 days, basic climbing gear)

[Danar Gistor]

"If you deem it most wise to use the cuiser, than we of the investigation team will follow your advice." The team joined Ariana towards the cruiser. In the cruiser, they took place in the availbale chairs, waiting for the next step of the Jedi.

• Datacrystals with basic databases with subjects about mechanical enginering and technological development

I have not specified the rest of the team since they are extras. I assume they have the necessary equipment with them to fulfill their task, as long as it within reason.))
