Shebi Ajava - PC
Shebi Ajava seems to absorb the new information and think it over before saying: "Depending on the expected level of sensor acuity it is better to also fit the suits with small pressurized air boosters, just in case."
She worriedly looked at the young duo beside her.
"Master Screetor, how many time do we have to prepare for this mission? I do not wish the first space walk experience of my companions to be their last. And this mission does present a rather difficult environment to learn in, so I would like to instruct my companions on some of the EVA basics before depart. Assuming we can use a single day for training and preparation, I think a schema of 4 hours of basic EVA training and 4 hours of EVA manoeuvring training should suffice.
We should make sure that work on the suits is started as soon as possible -- I'm sure that quartermaster Nishra knows the best way to obtain the suits... They are not the easiest piece of equipment to come by, especially with the large set of requirements we are looking at."
((OOC: I just invented quartermaster Nishra 'cause we needed an NPC; mainly because I haven't the slightest clue how the internal affairs of the Jedi Council are organized.))

T'sal did some quick calculations to determine that in a properly radiation shielded space suit, they could stay out in space for approximately two minutes before getting ill effects. Six minutes outside the ship would likely prove fatal.
"I believe there will be ample time to train. Nisha will no doubt have your suits ready before the end of the day. This isn't the first time the Jedi have had to go into space." he grinned a moment.
"I will upload a training program in one of the astrogation droids for you."
((OOC: If you want to roleplay training the zero gravity, you can each earn a bonus on the checks made during the mission. This will make certain tasks easier - it is not required however so if you prefer to get to the action, that is fine too. Let me know!))

It didn't take quartermaster Nishra very long to arrange space suits for the trio - using a fabricator, they could even get them in a colour and style of their choice, though the basic properties were the same: a space suit with extra radiation shielding.
((OOC: Please feel free to describe what yours looks like - if you want any special features such as built in gadgets, now is the time to think them up and make a proposal - alternatively, you can get equipment like grapplers and such seperate from the space suit.))
"Welcome to zero gravity training!" the droid that Master Screetor had programmed with the training routine reported
when the team had arrived. "Has everyone remembered to bring everything you need, including, but not limited to, a space suit and breathing apparatus, as required by your species and filled out all necessary paperwork? Once out in space, you will not be able to go back to retrieve it."

T'Sal - PC
T’sal decides to take a plain black spacesuit so she will be hard to notice is space with some compartment to store equipment. She wants this to be a realistic exercise to the take her backpack off and the stuffs she will need on their trip to the space station. The spacesuit has some compartment for the weapons, scanner etc. but there is also a big metal ball. T’sal picks the heavy ball up and walks toward the others.
“Hey, I want you to meet someone.” T’sal put her hands up like she is holding a tray with the metal ball in the middle and she says: “Activate S4”.
The ball begins to move and unfold. Four legs, two arms, a body and a head of the droid appear.
“This is S4N8 my science assistant spider droid. He helps me with experiment and other things. S4 these are my fellow jedi padawans Shebi Ajava and Darones Rei. ”
The droids looks to others as if inspecting them and says “Nice to meet you, I’m S4N8 a class 3 science servant. I can do experiment from set up to making conclusions. If you need any assistance, please let me know.”
The spider droids walks over T’sal arms onto her shoulder. “He is very skillful and can maneuver well on it’s own. He won’t be in the way and can reach places we can’t.”
T’sal looks to the droid. “S4 we are going make a spacewalk to investigate a space station and I need to practice maneuvering in a space suit. As you are too big, you have to move on your own, so you need to adjust your thruster on space. ”
After the introduction she goes to quartermaster Nishrato to ask him to make a handle for S4 to hold onto. While waiting she and S4 familiarize themselves with the grapplers and other equipment. When he is finished she puts the spacesuit on and is ready for their training.
((OOC: Hope everything is OK. Would the DM please approve of S4N8. I just put up a general description. He like C3PO, but then for science.))
((OOC: Made some esstimation of size and weigth (50 too much or not?)))

((OOC: Its a bit on the heavy side - a solid steel ball that size would weigh about 25 kilograms, but it is well within reason so I will allow it. If you want, you can also have it be lighter, I leave that up to you
Officially approved!
EDIT: It appears I was wrong. Its not 25, but 250 kilograms for such a ball of solid steel. So 50 falls very well in the expected range. Approved regardless.))

Shebi Ajava - PC
Shebi Ajava looks at the droid for a moment, and says: "While it seems like a useful tool, it would not be very useful if it gave away our position by loudly tapping it's metal feet. You might want to look into the stealth upgrades for this series."
Assuming that more words need not be said about the droid she directed her attention to quartermaster Nishra.
"I would like a to use an series five Onyx enviro-suit, series five, as a basis. I'm not sure which designs and upgrades your fabricator can incoporate, so just tell me when something isn't possible -- I'll think of a replacement if necessary.
To start with, I would like to replace the old synthetic weave plating with carbon nano-fiber plating. That would allow me more freedom of movement, as the carbon nano-fiber is very flexible, it would also protect me against most normal stabbing and slicing weapons and, last but not least, micro-meteorites hits.
Master Screetor suggested requesting an active dampening module, and grappling hooks. I would like to extend the pneumatic system used by the grappling hooks with a set of distributed boosters. That keeps the low energy profile of the suit, while increasing my mobility.
The last few modifications are based on some of the field work I did during training at home: I would like an upgraded visor with dynamic range adjustment or light amplification layer, whichever you have available, infra-red vision enhancements to the visor, and some attachment points for my lightsaber to my right thigh and my bow to my back.
And finally, I would be very pleased if you could upgrade the internal rebreathing system to allow the opening and closing of the fresh-air seals. That would allow me to use the same suit indoors, without wasting my precious breathing mixture. I like to save time by not stripping when I enter a hostile environment."
Shebi Ajava hands over a small data crystal to Nishra. "These are my exact measurements. I strongly dislike it when my enviro-suit chaffes or isn't as thight as it could be without chaffing."
((OOC: See Onyx Series 5 on the wiki as well. I have requested a load of modifications, quickly summarized here:
Pneumatic systems: Double pressurized gas driven grappling hooks, both with automatic retractors and reusable; Pressurized gas boosters.
Protective systems: Active Dampening Field, offers protection against strong radiation; Carbon nano-fiber plating, protects against small meteorites and normal stabbing ans slicing weapons.
Utility systems: Visor with dynamic range adjustment, and infra-red vision; Can open and close fresh-air seals (allows indoor use without wasting precious breathing mixture); Multiple points to attach gear, allowing at least the attachment of a lightsaber to the right thigh, and a bow on the back.
Please advice on feasability.))

"A woman who knows what she wants from her outfit." the quartermaster observed. "Good. I hate it when people come back for alterations afterwards."
She listened to the list provided by Shebi Ajava.
"The grappling hook is no problem, though it will be a separate item from your outfit.
I will add the fibre you asked for, but be careful, as this won't stop most micro meteorites, not all. It will self-seal if you are hit though and keep in mind you can use your saber to protect against those as well.
Just be careful about vibroblades. Some of the more advanced ones can get through the weave, and obviously it won't stop a lightsaber. However, that just means you'll still need to fight in a fight - you can handle that, I am sure.
For the visor, I advise the TC-14 tactical visor - it is intended for soldiers, but should work just as well for a Jedi on a mission. Wear it underneath your helmet - the radiation could mess with circuitry if it is integrated into the helmet, so for this mission I advise against it.
Your breathing system is no problem. Actually it is a standard variation in modern helmets nowadays - the good ones anyway, which means all of the ones I have. I don't give my Jedi cheap junk. Nobody has ever died because my equipment failed them and that record will remain untarnished."
She stated the latter part more as if it were an instruction than a hope.

" I'm afraid I dont have such a clear idea of what I would like as Miss Shebi, " Darones said as he spoke with Quartermaster Nishra, " Perhaps it would be best if I gave you some idea of my wishes so that you may then advise on the specifications.
Firstly, I would like my suit to be light and flexible, so that it doesn't hinder me should we have to fight in space or indoors while wearing to suit.
Secondly, it should offer ample protection to the hazards of space, with measures Master Screetor suggested, such as a radiation shielding, an active dampening field module and one or two grappling hooks.
Thirldy, I think I'd like the extra safety and mobility offered by a set of small boosters.
Lastly, I would like to be able to use the suit indoors without compromising the air mixture supply needed for EVA's.
Is there anything else you wish to know or need? "

On Shebi’s remarks on S4 T’sal looks stern at her.
“Science is about precisely measuring. Making noise causes vibrations, and that would interfere with the measurements. S4 is no bulky droid but refined and delicate. He will not give away our position.”
To Darones, Shebi and Nishra
“I will follow your advice on the space suits. Being able to use them indoor would be good so we don’t have to change but might make moving inconspicuous around in the station harder.”
((OOC: Made S4 a little lighter 30kg feels about right for what he should be able to have and do (equipment). But also up a list on what he should be able to do in skills (made new skill science engineering as lab equipment is different from vehicles).))

"I agree that we might not look inconspicuous with our enviro-suits. But I don't think we'd look any better if we walked around without. Imagine the surprise of the guard when one blue lady and two children walk up to his station."

After giving quartermaster Nishra all the necessary details, see takes a seat at the table. It will take a while before their space suits are ready and she takes up her tablet and starts studying space maneuvering. She asks Miss Shebi some questions and takes notes. She makes sure S4 is also prepared, exchanging some tools, rearranging his gravitational point and making sure the delicate compartments are sealed.
When her spacesuits are ready, she jumps to her feet. She was getting anxious to try it out. She puts is on and tries moving around. When she got a feeling for it she looks to see if the others are ready.

"We can do that." Nishra nodded at Darones' requests. "Nothing about that will be a problem. I'll make the boosters detachable, as they have a lot of weight. In space that won't matter, but if you find yourself in need of being able to run through the station, you can detach them without risk."
Having all the detailed parameters, the quartermaster got to work, leaving the trio behind to study whatever plans they needed.
Several hours later, sooner than expected, the three received a holonet message from the Quartermaster.
"Your equipment is ready. I've already had it loaded up for you, soon as you get to the training grounds you are ready to go. End of message."
There was no reply option.
The droid they had seen earlier was patiently waiting for them, three chests standing by with their new equipment, each chest labelled with their name and image.
"Welcome back to zero gravity training!" the droid reported "With your permission, I will have the autopilot launch the ship. Our destination is a nearby asteroid belt, where Master Screetor has set out a track to practice on. First however, it may be a good idea to get used to zero gravity. For this reason, all artificial gravity will be disabled for the duration of this trip. In case of emergency, please press the red button marked 'emergency gravity' to re-enable regular gravity."
Within moments of giving permission, the ship was off into orbit and no sooner were they done accelerating or the three Padawans could feel themselves getting lighter and slowly beginning to float upwards. Putting on the new equipment was going to be interesting for sure!

Shebi Ajava - PC
Shebi Ajava closed her eyes and took a moment to get used to her new equilibrium. After getting used to the new gravitation, she hooked her feet in the floor straps to prevent her every movement from propelling her through the ship.
"Lesson one: make sure you don't launch your gear all over the place." she said, to nobody in particular. She opened the chest carefully, and proceeded to take out all the gear, and suspend in in front of her. After taking her time aligning the gear from the chest, she suspend her lightsaber and her bow next to it as well.((OOC: Force level 5 + Strength 4; strength sounds a bit weird, suspending everything without making it fly is rather delicate, but strength is used to influence other things.))
She turned around to see the progress of the other two. Upon seeing that they were handling themselves, she checked the suit for the customary padding. After confirming that the suit did indeed conform to veolian military standards, she efficiently undressed, taking care to fold her clothing and put it in the chest, and proceeded to put on the suit as she was used from her drills.
((OOC: Mirda is seriously warm, so veolian never got the layered clothing thing of other species; they took their clothing philosophy with them to space.))

Slowly T’sal and S4 are starting to float upwards. It took T’sal some time to get used to this feeling. She moves forward by carefully pushing herself off the roof towards her suits. She takes off her chemisette, blouse, pants and puts on her spacesuit. As it was her first time in a real spacesuit it took some time to fit in.
((OOC: Force level 5 + Strength 3
T’sal has some underclothes of simple linen.))
For getting the grapplers and light saber she uses the force. She makes sure everything is put right and tight.
((OOC: Force level 5 + Energy 4 + Telekinesis 1))
S4 is flying a circle around the group and test his thrusters. After finishing his round he stops next to T’sal and together with the others wait for instructions.

Once the Jedi had managed to change into their space suits (with some trouble), they moved to the airlock, but not before the droid sprouted a warning:
"Warning: outside the airlock lies interplanetary space - please ensure your helmet is on and your suit indicates it is operational before opening the airlock."
Outside the airlock awaited the first real test - the ship was parked roughly a kilometre from the asteroid where their next training course was set out. In terms of space, that was very close, but it was still a kilometre away...

Darones Rei - PC
Darones still felt a bit uneasy in his new spacesuit, and he much rather preferred going by in his normal attire. He tested the maneuverability and flexibility and was surprised it didn't hinder him as much as he had expected, but whether it was due to the material, or due to the fact that he was now in Zero-G, he didn't quite know.
After checking the operational status of his suit, and making sure his helmet and air supply were secure his maneuvered, as best he could, towards the airlock. This would prove to be an interesting exercise, although for the moment he preferred his feet on the ground. And yet, he was curious to test his boosters, and go about in Zero-G, the fastness of space, where there was little to no room for error.

After a last check of the equipment T’sal moves through the airlock. The vast space and the stars looked magnificent, but they were here for zero-gravity training. She looked to the course that had been set and then to the training droid and Shebi. “What are the exercises we have to do at each point?”
In her mind she had already thought something up and she was thinking ahead on how to do them. She was curious on how things would go. A mistake could take you quite somewhere else, but she had S4 if things went really wrong.

She closed the fresh air seals on her own suit, and checked whether the rebreather was working. Confirming the operation of the life support subsystem, she quickly confirmed the status of the electrics and tested her boosters to jet towards the air-lock.
"Let me check your suits first", Shebi Ajava said while she moved behind Darones and checked his air supply connectors, then did the same with T'Sal.
Directing her attention to the Droid she stated: "Droid, we are ready to being the exercises."

The first challenge of the group would be to actually get to their destination, a kilometer or so away. In space that was a very short distance, but it was still a kilometer. Once there, they would have to grab a hold of asteroid A and land safely.
The next challenge would be to take a flag planeted on that asteroid to a second asteroid B further along in the field without being noticed by several security drones patrolling the field.
Finally, they would have to take that flag from asteroid B to a third asteroid C and plant it there, this time under life fire as if they had been discovered.
Between the jumping between various asteroids, the stealth and the live fire exercise, this should cover all of the basics they might face during the actual mission - hopefully the third exercise would not be put into actual practice in the mission, but it was best to be prepared for the eventuality.
The team made sure their suits were in order - all status lights were green and they were ready to proceed.
The droid opened the door to the airlock, the team stepping out into space. In the distance they could see the asteroid and the rest of the field waiting for them, with their first challenge, getting there, awaiting.

“I want to test maneuvers in the first kilometer.” T’sal says. “I want to be able to do the basics.”
She looks to S4. “Let’s do this the way we discussed, first go and stop a few times and then zigzag. And make records to analyze halfway, before we try the rest.”
Together they went to the edge and took aim to the asteroid. She then takes straight off with half-power into spaces. The launch starts an adrenaline rush and T’sal seems to enjoy her first adventure in space. She waits until she reaches a steady speed and then makes a full break. S4 is at her side and tries to keep up. She repeats this a few times at various power levels. When she seems to have mastered this, she continuous with making zigzag motions and curves.
Half-way T’sal takes a pause to see what the others are doing. S4 is doing the analyses and comes up with some small improvements.
((OOC: I don’t know how difficult the basics are. T’sals physical stats are all 3. And I hope S4 can keep up.))

Shebi Ajava - PC
Shebi Ajava rolled, and pushed of the wall of the small ship, elegantly floating into space. She used her boosters to come to a halt.
After doing some basic exercises Shebi Ajava, confident in her abilities, kept a watchful eye on the other two padawan while the trio made it's way towards the first asteroid.
((OOC: Force Level 5 + Fitness 4 + Acrobatics 1; I think acrobatics better fits the bill than Athletics, but I'm not completely sure.))
