[17 -6] Of Rockets and Ion Blasters
Nathan followed the instructions of the flight control tower.
After a bumpy landing he tucked his lightsaber into his clothes so it was hidden but still within reach if he needed it. He then unceremoniously tore the sleeves off his jacket. He tied one around his head like a bandanna. The other he tied around his arm. He now looked a bit shady, a bit like a gang enforcer or a mercenary.
"You might want to disguise yourself a bit if we're going to pose as buyers. Don't try to hard or they'll spot you as fake."

Ariana makes sure she hides her lightsabers beneath her coat together with her knives and one of her blasters. "I am gonna look for a bar to observe the crowd and look for thugs."
She keeps one of her blasters visible on her belt since they are posing as thugs, for now she will be the muscle.
Ariana starts looking for bars and other crowded places where they could find thugs.

Opting to set down the ship on Rymea instead of continuing on, Nathan follows the instructions of the droid-operated landing tower. Their landing vector flies them over a large section of the city, giving them a good look at the building style and relative openness of the city.

It quickly becomes clear that the city takes up a lot of area for only 59000 residents, a fact that easily be ascribed to the surrounding landscape: all desert. The city features several large avenues that seem to be the major areas of commerce, and caravan trails can be seen leaving the city in several directions. From high up it is difficult to spot details, but the can easily see that the large avenues feature a sun-blocking screens hung from higher buildings to give the people some shade. Several patrols of red-armored people can be seen as well, usually with one or two red vehicles accompanying them.
The small vessel is directed to a set of three landing rings near the center of the city, the rings being little more than circular enclosures large enough to hold a few ships, with some mechanical loading and unloading arms. They are guided to an empty spot in a ring where two other vessels are already parked.
Now safely on the ground, Ariana just hides her lightsaber, and heads out. While Nathan takes slightly longer to prepare his disguise, Ariana is addressed by a droid the moment she steps out of the ship. The droid was blinking golden, and had a large red logo on its chestplates.
Brr-click. "Welcome to Port Rymea, traveller. You have set down in a docking area under the protection of the Crimson Janissaries. Docking fares are 2 credits per hour for the first day, and 40 credits for every day thereafter." Brrr-click "Any business or property adorned with the logo on my chestplate is under the protection of the Crimson Janissaries. Unpaid use of the logo will be punished with extreme violence. Have a nice stay in Port Rymea, traveler."
Ariana could easily spot where she could pay the docking fares: these three docking rings were built around a small tower with a large Crimson Jannisary flag on top, and the red letters 'Port Rymea Docking Tower A4' written on the building. The only exit out of the docking ring, a stairway leading to the walkway around the tower neatly lead them past the payment counter. She could also spot several well-armed guards wearing red armor busying themselves with patrolling the docking rings.
((OOC: I'm not exactly sure what Nebesnogo does, so I've deliberately left him out of the description. He is currently in a plot-quantum state.))

Nebesnogo takes a bit longer to go for his disguise. He looked like the child soldier that managed to getaway from his war.
"Nathan is it ok if I go with you? I don't think it's the best idea if I go alone. I don't look particularity dangerous if you catch my drift."

Nathan simply nodded to Nebesnogo before they left the ship.
Stepping outside the ship he looked around and estimated how difficult it would be to escape quickly if they needed.
"C'me on lads, best not keep the boss waiting." Nathan suddenly spoke, with an unfamiliar accent.
Once he was out he looked for the nearest bar and entered.

Ariana was still not really sure why they went to Rymea instead of investigating the information that the Sundarian scanning array presented them. At this moment she followed Nathan. She also planned to go to a bar, however she was not so sure how much effect it would have on such a planet filled with criminals.
Since criminals usually let their thugs do the heavy lifting she simply followed Nathan to see what his plan was.
"Go ahead, I need a drink anyway."
Ariana kept an eye on Nebesnogo and made sure that other people knew that he was under her protection. Since he looked like a child for some other races they might think that they could be funny and push him away.

As they leave the ship and head out into the city Nathan evaluates the security. First off, the easiest way to their ship was over the walkway, which was guarded by well-armed and armoured guards in red. Climbing over the wall was another option to phyiscally reach the ship. He also spots tractor beam projectors on the top of the tower, and based on their size estimates that they are strong enough to pull their vessel to the ground if they tried to fly away. And on top of that, he also spotted two anti-aircraft batteries on the roofs of some of the higher buildings -- most likely to protect against raids by pirates and such, but also usable to fire at fleeing vessels.
Using the walkway to leave the landing enclosure, the trio made their way to the streets. They were in one of the busier streets, and from here they already spotted several neon signs saying 'Bar' in galactic basic. Several of the signs were adorned with fruits or pazaak cards, one of them even featured an animated hologram of a female dancer.
Entering the nearest bar, the three jedi were greeted with a sweet smell and melodious music. The bar was arranged as a group of loosely spread tables with chairs around a semi-circular stage. At this time of day it wasn't too crowded, and there were several tables and barstools without patrons sitting at or on them. On the stage, two human males were playing something akin to a drum and violin, generating melodious but distinctly synthetic sounds.
There were two people serving customers from behind the bar, a strong-looking theelin and a wookie. A female twi'lek acted as serving girl. Unexpectedly, the twi'lek serving girl wore a very modest outfit covering her whole body minus her head and hands.

Ariana is still considering leaving this planet and going to system 3641-Anuradha. However while they are here she will relax a bit and take the role of a Praetorian crimelord that has brought some minions to handle her business.

((OOC: I'm still sticking to the thursday schedule -- but I realized that I completely forgot to describe the patrons of the bar.))
While the twi'lek walks over to take Ariana's order, the three Jedi have a moment to look around and have a look at the other patrons of the bar.
The patrons of the bar seem to be of the private type, most wearing heavy and baggy clothing and talking to each other in soft voices. With their Jedi-level senses the trio easily determins that all patrons save one is armed. The patrons consist of a curious mixture of races, roughly one third is human, or one of the many near-humans, and twi'lek, and the other half consists of rodians, ehmets, mon calamari and zabrak. But they also spotted a pair of Jawa. Two of the patrons, a rodian and a human, are even wearing some form of armor underneath their baggy clothing. Based on their behaviour, it appears that the unarmed patron is given a certain amount of respect by the bar's staff.

Nathan spotted the unarmed patron. Casually approaching, he sat down across from him. He tried to sense the reaction of the staff and other patrons as he approached, using the Force.
After having sat down Nathan looked over the unarmed patron.
"So, how many of these guys are yours?" He said gesturing to the other patrons.

As Nathan approached the patron, he felt a tension rising in the force, though the feeling quickly faded after the patron give a small hand signal to the two armoured men. The staff seemed tense still, and the two armed men were now paying more attention to Nathan than to their drinks.
As he sits down, the unarmed man looks Nathan over.
"If you need to ask I have no need of your services.", the man replied just before downing his whole drink in one go. "Whatever they may be. Now you best scuttle over back to your winged friends, before the mistress of this establishment gets angry.", he said as he eyes the twi'lek woman walking towards the table where he and Nathan are seated. Her expression was one Nathan readily recognized as the one of the more universal expressions in the universe: one usually preceding an angry outburst.

"Well then, it's good I'm not offering any." Nathan said, still speaking in the strange accent. "My boss is willing to pay a lot to have some goods moved into the Union quietly. So why don't you tell me to who I gotta speak to for that."
Nathan sat back in his chair.
"Oh and tell those two mates of yours that I don't want to mess up this nice bar. If I wanted to kill you, lad, I wouldn't be sitting here."

((OOC: I checked (Force Level + Intuition), and all are high enough, with the lowest being Nebesnogo's with 9.))
The man, clearly annoyed by Nathan's attitude, glances towards the approaching twi'lek before giving a reply: "And if I want to be harassed or threathened by arrogant droids, I would have had some programmed for that purpose."
He stands up, "Enjoy your stay in Port Rymea, outsider.", the way he pronounces the word makes it clear that it's not meant as a honorific, "I suggest you leave this establishment, before you get your boss in trouble."
Unfortunately, the man had badly estimated the amount of time the twi'lek serving girl needed to walk to the table.
"Marcus!", she yells loudly, "How many times did I tell you to leave your business outside!"
"I didn't... I mean, he's some outsider sent to annoy me...", he replies, not all convincing.
"That's. it.", the twi'lek serving girl somehow seems to tower over Nathan and the unarmed man that she stood next to. "Get out!"
Through their connection with the Force, the three Jedi feel a pulse of anger flushing outwards from the serving girl.
Seemingly impressed by her loud voice, and somehow towering posture, the unarmed man decides to leave the establishment, quickly followed by the two armoured guards.
The twi'lek serving girl turns toward Nathan. "I have not seen you here before, so you get a pass. Here are the rules: One. Business remains outside. Two. Using weapons stops at the door. Three. No harassing of the performers. Four. No slavers."
While she tells him the rules, she looks him over. "And before you get any ideas about being a tough son of a bitch that doesn't have to follow the rules... Well, go ask around first.", she says with utter seriousness.
"First drink's on the house.". As she places a glass of clean fluid on the table in front of Nathan he sees a black-inked tattoo of an inverted Omega on the inside of her arm as the arm of her dress recedes a little. As she places the drink and pulls back her arm, she quickly pulls back the arm of her dress to cover the tattoo -- a less perceptive individual would have missed it.
She then starts to walk back to the bar.

The way the Twi'lek basicly threw out those three patrons stirred something in Nathan. In fact he caught himself checking her out as she walked away.
That didn't prevent him from noticing the tattoo on her arm, however. He could practically hear his former squad ridicule him. 'Of course you would fall for an ultramarine Lt.' After which they would all laugh. Then again that's what friends are for.
Nathan knocked back the drink, something that his fellow jedi had never seen him do. He walked up to the twi'lek.
"Excuse me, lass. I wanted to apologise for breaking the rules. I didn't know them, but that's no excuse." Nathan said to her. He offered his hand for a shake. "I'm Nathan by the way."

Without so much as moving a synthetic muscle, Nathan replied over a silent commline.
"I'm curious what an ultramarine is doing this far from the Slave Rebellion. Now if you'll excuse me, it's difficult to hold two conversations at once."
Nathan cut the link after that.

Knocking back his drink, Nathan discovers that it was simple water. Clean, tasteless water. Then again, on this desert planet actual clean water might be a rather expensive, especially given the fact that it did not taste like sand or earth.
The girl turns around. This time it was Nathan that towered over her, given the size of his military frame.
She looks up a little, towards his green 'eyes'. "No harm was done.", she simply replied.
Meanwhile, the other two Jedi see the wookie reach under the counter while keeping his eyes on Nathan. The muscular theelin took a few steps away from the bar, so he has a straight line to Nathan without obstructions. Whether Nathan sees these subtle moves or not depends on how distracted he is by the twi'lek girl.
The girl looks at Nathan with a curious expression, seemingly paying careful attention to the torn sleeves used as bandana and arm wrapping. Or, she might just be appreciating the shape of his frame, it is not exactly clear.
She puts down the tray she was carrying and extends a hand to shake Nathan's. As she does so, she looks up at him, saying "Nice to meet you Nathan. My name is Ezaspa Zel.", she speaks in a soft voice, instead of the one she just used to kick Marcus out. "It is very unlike a mob enforcer to apologize, even more if they're new around here and need to establish that they are serious business. And the way you carry yourself reeks of trained military, not of well-worn enforcer..."
She lets the sentence hang as she lets go of Nathan's hand, clearly expecting a reply.
As she speaks, the two other Jedi see that their initial assessment of who carries weapons in this cantina was a little off. Unlike the previous subtlety, the following is completely hidden from Nathan's sight by the girl's body: the muscular theelin has somehow produced a very serious looking vibrosword. Currently he is casually holding the blade along his leg, so as not to draw attention to himself, but his stance betrays the fact that he can explode into action at a moment's notice.
From their perspective, Nebesnogo and Ariana can clearly see that the staff of this cantina is used to violence, and seems practised in dishing it out...

Since Nathan had clearly closed his comm link Ariana contacted him with her telepathy.
"Nathan the Theelin behind Ezaspa Zel is holding a vibroblade along his leg, please don't resort to violence, or even make it look like to them that you will...
Please don't forget that we are here on a official mission."
Ariana looks the theelin straight into his eyes to draw his attention. If he is focused on the others she uses a subtle telepathic ping to draw his attention to her.
A moment later when she has his attention she nods in disagreement after which she looks at the blade.

"Ex-military actually, Ezaspa." Nathan replied. Then he moved to her side and leaned against the bar with his elbow so he was facing Ezaspa. "But apparently the Union is in a civilized time now, so I traded my rifle with a more elegant weapon. And now I'm here, talking to a pretty lass."
Nathan leaned closer to the twi'lek. Whispering, he broke his accent. "Like a Jedi to an Ultramarine. Perhaps if you tell your subordinates not to kill me, we can help each other."
Meanwhile he prepared to dodge in case the Theelin decided to attack.
