"Thank you Gar, yes you may go, find a nice safe place to hide." Trigiel said to Gar. As it appeared things would become more interesting very quickly. Gar shouldn't be there, he only would get himself killed.

The bounty hunters didn't seem to be the main threat, their blasters would be problematic, but something Trigiel could overcome. If his guess was correct, the main threat was Vitress. That meant two things first, he had to take her out, second, she was probably the brain behind this all. Luckily, there are many guests here, that means he has the advantage as he has meat shields. Unless the bounty hunters don't care about civilian casualties, then Trigiel was in much more trouble.

4 guns aimed at his chest, what are the other 4 hunters doing?

"I understand that Jedi are bad for business if you react this way every time somebody says 'Jedi'.

Look, you can refuse, then eventually the Jedi will sent somebody who will come guns blazing and take you. Or you can simply come with me and then nothing bad will happen, and you will return with a big happy smile on your face and insects in your bowl."

Leba took a while to think, which was clearly visible since he grabbed a fat insect and chewed on it audibly. During this time, Gar tried to calmly walk away, but decided against this plan the moment one of the guards at the door aimed his gun at Gar. So, Gar stopped and waited.

"The Jedi are never civilized, always telling others what they want and expecting this immediately. This is bad for business.", Leba replied resolutely and sounding almost insulted.

"Last time the Jedi needs something, they removed a problem for me. This is true.", his smile grew, "You are good at removing problem, yesss?"

"There is a planet, Xillomba, with a village full of gaggalak mursto! If you go there and kill them all, you remove problem for me. In return, I will remove problem for you; I fly to Union to speak with your masters. You agree this is profitable, yesss?"

While the hutt was making his counter-offer, the guards kept their weapons trained in Trigiel, in case he did something that was not at all profitable.

Trigiel actually had to laugh at the ridiculous offer of Leba. "ha, haha hahahahahaha.

Leba, you are much more clever and resourceful than this, killing a village of... I have no idea what gaggalak mursto are, but if that is the extend of your problems, you are a rich and happy man. Maybe I should ask somebody else."

Trigiel turned to Vitress: "Vitress, what problem does Leba has that actually is Jedi worthy of solving? Preferably close by. When in this ship, all the better."

"Me?", Vitress turned to look at Trigiel with a knowing smile, "I do not know.", she replied.

"If Leba the destroyer wants this village dead, he will have a most profitable plan in mind. Maybe it is because he paid many credits for the village's totem and the village decided that they would not give it to him, but keep the credits... Maybe it is because he does not wish to openly attack a world under the protection of another Hutt..."

She looked at Leba for a moment, who almost imperceptibly tried to move away from her, even though he was seated on the other side of the room with several well-armed guards between them.

"If Leba says that the people of Xillomba are worm-eating liars, then this is so. And if Leba says they must all die, then this will be a most profitable plan."

"And if Leba sais: Help me Jedi! I am oppressed by an evil cyborg, than this will also be true?" Trigiel responded in a challenging tone.

"Wait, of course he would never say that, then your bounty hunters will target him instead of me, very unprofitable for him."

"Well...", Vitress looked at Trigiel with mixed expression, "Why do you have to break the pattern? We had such a nice game going.", Trigiel detected a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Now that you have a good grasp of the situation, I suggest you go kill the peoples of Xillomba like Leba has asked you.", she stated resolutely. "I promise that we will be here once you are done, I strongly dislike it when people break their word."

Trigiel has a choice to make.

Trigiel stood there: shoold he take Leba home, or Vitress? both would be best, but hard to pull of. Maybe he should take over the destroyer, that way, transport might be so much easier.

"You know," Trigiel said, "I think just going to kill the Xillomba is a bad idea. Although I like the simplicity of the approach, I dislike the circumstances and the application. Also, I don't really trust you."

With his last sentence, Trigiel looked down to the red dots at his chest and back to Vitress, mentioning the guns pointed at him.

"Alas, one can not be too careful these days.", Vitress replies, "You yourself came bearing arms, so it should be no surpirse that Lord Leba desires some security to prevent you from simply attaining your goal through violent means."

"Trust has little to do with it, Trigiel. I am positive that Lord Leba will still be here when you are done with the Xillomba. After all, he has a reputation to maintain as a fair lord that pays those that work for him.

Even if he does not trust you, and you do not trust him, he will benefit from sticking to his word. You are a Jedi after all, and will find him wherever he flees to. And you will benefit by simply doing what is asked, showing that you do not mean Leba harm, and really want to talk instead of interrogate."

"For now, Lord Leba wishes to continue his feast and wait to hear from you about the extermination of the liars on Xillomba.", as she says the last sentence, the guards lower their weapons and a few soft clicks could be heared as laser-sights are turned off.

"I am not the one pointing them loaded at others." Trigiel said in response of the 'you came in armed' comment.

"But you are right, I would find you eventually. But such a course of action would be un-beneficial for the both of us.

Ok, say you are to stay here, why does Leba want the extermination of the Xillomba? I can just go there and retrieve the money. This would be profitable, and Leba shows his influence and the people would live to tell the tale the highness' awesomeness."

Leba seems very quiet about the whole issue now that Vitress has taken over speaking with Trigiel.

"Retrieving the money would only recuperate Leba's losses. They are to be made into an example of what happens if Leba the Destroyer is defied.", Vitress looked at Trigiel with a smile, "You are free not to do it. After all, lord Leba had a plan before you arrived. You're just right on time to make things so much easier."

"For now, I think you are done here, taking up the lord's time with your lack of decisiveness.", Vitress' expression changes to one of sadness and anger. "A pity really, to meet someone with actual influence, and seeing them flop around like a glurpfish on land. Following orders they do not understand from masters that refuse to act on their own philosophies."

"Trigiel, you have so much potential, and yet you waste it all on going here to grab this sorry excuse for a Hutt? You are a walking insult to our kind, a living example of a failing philosophy... Free yourself from their hypocrisy!", as she spoke Trigiel slowly feels a darkness in the Force build up around her.

"Or stay and party, I do not care! Your presence here means I am done with this charade, as soon enough more mindless minions will follow, each on their own path to full-fledged ignorance.", by now, the aura of darkness around Vitress was literally visible to Trigiel, a shroud of black and red surrounding her form. "I will just go there and get the Xillomba totem myself, killing anyone that gets in the way."

"Allow me to help you out, Trigiel. Someone needs to make the decision easy for you.", she states with a sad expression as the two bounty hunters near Leba aim their weapons at the Hutt. Leba starts to look very panicked and shouts "Vitress sunshine?! I did all you asked! Vitresss?"

Vitress ignores Leba and continues: "It is your decision, Trigiel.

You can try to stop me. If you do, Leba dies. You will fail your mission, but you will have saved the Xillomba. You will have saved a small village that no one really knows about, and most likely never will. In their hypocricy, your masters will tell you that you did the right thing, but they will resolve to no longer send you on missions of importance.

Or you can let me go. If you do, your mission will be succesful. Leba will be yours to take. You can return home in triumph, and the Xillomba will just be another dead village, destroyed because of the inaction of your masters and your failure to see beyond your master's whims!"

As she speaks, Vitress' aura grew in intensity with her anger. At the end of her ultimatum, she stands in a whirlwind of darkness and red arcs of lightning, her expression one of menace. She starts to walk towards the door of the throne room, clearly intent on leaving.

Trigiel couldn't help but to laugh: "Hahaha, who said I was indecisive? I made up my mind the moment I saw the tomb. It was nice talking, but let's make some fun shall we?"

Ignoring the bounty hunters threatening Leba, Trigiel went after Vitress, intending to stop her. He was a little curious about Vitress, so he did the first thing you do when stopping someone: Tackle them.

A little voice in his mind, still remembering his last encounter with someone from the dark side of the force, Malarika, was panicking and saying that this was suicide. However Trigiel had already made up his mind. In fact, he had indeed done so the moment he saw the tomb, he just didn't knew it until now.

That is the risk of combat. If you start out unarmed, and the other party immediately draws... The combat system supports switching weapons; and an unarmed attack on someone armed with a lightsaber is really very stupid. That is how it is.))

The moment Trigiel moves towards Vitress she pulls a lightsaber from her sleeve with the Force. As the red lightsaber activates with a familiar hiss, Trigiel notices the smirk on Vitress' face.

"This is pathetic. Draw your sabers, Trigiel."

In the background, the four bounty hunters not aiming at Leba took aim at Trigiel, several red dots reappearing on his body.

((OOC: Because Trigiel called combat, this post is immediate to restore the posting order.))

Trigiel's tackle is easily sidestepped by Vitress. In one motion with her sidestep, she swings her saber in a wide arc, as if playing baseball with Trigiel's body being the ball. Immediately after her swing, she flows into a second attack, a vertical arc this time.

The bounty hunters tried to maintain their aim on Trigiel, but the Jedi was too fast in his movements, and they could not take any shots without also hitting Vitress. So, instead of opening fire into the melee, they take careful aim to prepare for the inevitable opening.

In the background, Leba reacted with surprising quickness to the two bounty hunters intent on shooting him. He grabs the bowl of insects and throws it into the face of the first bounty hunter threathening him, temporarily blinding the man with sweet-sour sauce to the face. Leba then uses his body, even though he is a small hutt, to slam into the second one with force. A struggle ensues as Leba tries to grab the bounty hunter's blaster.

"I admit, that kinda was pathetic."

Trigiel draws both his lightsabers, in a fluent motion the handles shove out his arm pockets into his hands. While with his regular blade he blocks the fierce attacks from Vitress, he has his short blade left. On purpose, Trigiel creates an opening for the bounty hunters on his left, the moment they shoot, Trigiel redirects their shots with his light saber. The cyborg makes great use of the spinning properties of his tonfa handle in order to quickly redirect all shots towards Vitress or each other.

((Check: 12 = 7 Force Level + 5 Fitness -- For redirecting the blaster shots towards Vitress or the bounty hunters. I had no idea what skills to add, all of them seemed to far fetched.))

((OOC: The lack of addable skills seems logical, since the only way to get an advantage with this is to seriously outclass your opponent. Deflecting shots is a very expected move, and it is difficulty to get an advantage with that because it does not create a serious threat. Your check has failed.))

The bounty hunters here prove to be less insightful than those wielding lightsabers. Playing straight into Trigiel's trap, the bounty hunters quickly open fire when they see the lack of defence. Taking advantage of his unique hilt design, the jedi cyborg deflects all shots towards Vitress in rapid succession. However, she proves to have the same level of expertise at this manoeuvre, and neatly deflects the series of shots as she and Trigiel exchange blows. Vitress lands one blow, as Trigiel dodged to the side, but it only leaves a scratch on his body.

Vitress follows up the barrage of deflected shots with an agressive sequence of attacks. Her fighting style isn't wild or uncontrolled, but seems to be a more of a calculated effort to place her cuts exactly there where Trigiel has to just overextend a little bit to effectively defend. During Vitress' attacks the bounty hunters take careful aim at Trigiel and fire all at the same time as if their actions are coordinated by some external influence. Regardless of where their actions are directed from, they still force Trigiel to defend against an oncoming barrage of blaster fire as well as Vitress' attacks.

Suddenly seemingly prompted by one of Trigiel's counter attacks, she breaks off the attack and jumps towards the large door. As she lands, she holds the saber in a single hand, and stands upright, here saber pointing towards Trigiel's feet. Trigiel recognizes the stance as one associated with the Makashi style, a style known for its effective duelling techniques. Her jump has also placed her closer to the door than Trigiel, so he is no longer between her and the door.

In the background Leba is struggling with the bounty hunter for control of the bounty hunter's blaster. His struggle is not going so well, even though he shouts out "Give blaster! Give blaster!", the bounty hunter does not appear to do so. The second bounty hunter is wiping the sweet-sour sauce out of his face, clearly intent on killing Leba the moment he can see the hutt.

    Now it becomes truly interesting:

If Trigiel attacks the Leba hunters, the other 4 will target Leba. If Trigiel attacks the Vitress hunters, Leba would die. If Trigiel attacks Vitress, Leba would die. So Trigiel has to help Leba to win on his own, keep the Vitress hunters distracted, and gain the advantage on Vitress.

Oh, and Trigiel must keep himself defended against Vitress as well.

And keep his lightsabers in his hands because Makahsi. Yes, this will be interesting. Against an opponent as Vitress, the cyborg padawan truly has to use his specialities to win.

First, lets give Leba a fighting change by turning the arena in the advantage of Trigiel. The cyborg quickly looks around to locate the light source for the room, and the light switch. If he can find one he repositions himself by attacking Vitress, and use the attack- and block step to get closer to the light switch panel. With a hard smash with the back of his hilt he smashes the ligthswitch, turning of all the lights in the room.

If he cannot locate a light switch, Trigiel attacks Vitress, defensively jumps back and mid jump cut the light source or the light with his lightsaber, this should create a lot of hot sparks, which should let Vitress back-off for a second.

In both cases, the idea is to darken the room, giving the bounty hunters a harder time to do their work, and Vitress should require a bit more time to adjust to the new situation.

((Check: 14 = 7 Force Level + 4 Reason + 3 Mechanical Engineer -- To determine the lightsource of the room and to disable the source, darkening the room))

((Combat, round 2: Trigiel: Attacking Vitress: Take defensive DCA (+2/+0/+0) by darkening the room, or by creating hot sparks, depending if Trigiel can locate the light switch.

((OOC: A Jedi having a backup plan is very smart (if well done to prevent it from being a conditional 'I do this if that'). The way you do it is very nice: check approved))

With both combatants skilled in the Ataru style, the exchange of blows between Trigiel and Vitress is fast but controlled. Both combatants are roughly equal in skill, which is evident from the fact that both come close to harming their opponent but are prevented from doing so by skilled dodges and deflections. The bounty hunters in the room do not live up to their reputation, clearly being cut from lesser cloth than the actual Bounty Hunters in employ of the Hutt Families.

During the exchange of blows, Trigiel tries to spot the light switch. He does not spot the switch itself, but he does spot the power distribution node on the ceiling of the room. Trigiel launches a weak attack and jumps back. Mid-jump he smashes the distribution node with all the precision of a mechanical engineer: exactly precise enough. Not only does this create a shower of hot sparks in the direction of Vitress, prompting her to jump backwards to evade the dangerous spray of hot metal, it also plunges the room into darkness as all power to the lighting is cut.

The new situation: Trigiel stands in the middle of the open area in the audience hall, facing towards the only source of light: the large doorway in which Vitress now stands. Around him at the edge of open area, four bounty hunters aim their precision blasters at Trigiel, the red dots of their laser guides hovering over his metallic body. Behind him, Leba is struggling for his life while desperately trying to get hold of a bounty hunter's blaster. The Vitress stands on the threshold of the room, saber held low in a signature Makashi stance.

Vitress waves her free hand to the side: "This is it Jedi. Your moment of truth.", she calls out as a set of durasteel blast doors starts to close. The lighting in the room shifts dramatically as the doors start closing, the band of light illuminating the center of the room and Leba's struggle slowly growing thinner. As the doors are moving, she smartly takes a few steps back, stepping out of the room.

"Kill them all. Start with the Hutt.", she calls out. The bounty hunters, are quick to change target, taking aim at the small Hutt. Vitress herself stands ready in the Makashi stance, should Trigiel approach her...

In the background (and growing darkness), Leba desperately struggles for control of the blaster. While he does so, he is unaware that the second bounty hunter his finally wiped the sweet-sour sauce from his eyes. The sweet-soured bounty hunter aims his blaster at Leba "That's enough of you, little peedunkey!". The first two shots miss as Leba's movement is unpredictable due to his struggling with the other bounty hunter. The next salvo will most likely be the end of Leba, and then there are the other four bounty hunters that just took aim...

With the doors closing, Trigiel has to choose: jump through the closing doors and sacrifice Leba to have a chance at stopping Vitress, or stay in the room as the doors close to safe Leba but let Vitress escape.

((Combat, round 3: Vitress: Attack Trigiel. Taken non-combat action to start closing doors; stand ready to execute a Disarming Flourish to strike at Trigiel if he jumps.

((OOC: Normally, not attacking at all would make you drop all style bonusses next round. Common sense dictates that she retains her combat bonusses should Trigiel choose to engage her because in that case, she actually does not 'not attack'.

If you decide to remain in the room, you get carte blanche on how you dispatch the six bounty hunters and save Leba in the darkness (you do have a rather big advantage over everyone in there after all ^_^) as long as it takes some time to do so. If you decide to engage Vitress the combat will continue outside and the outcome is still up for grabs.))

'Oh come on', a part of Trigiel thought, 'more combat complications? You can't be serious'. 'Yeey' another part thought, 'more combat complications, more challenge'. In a split second, the cyborg padawan assessed the new situation:

Darking room with target Leba which require extraction,
closing doors are going to prevent a quick escape,
and Vitress going to make a run for it.

The immediate problem is Leba in danger, the second problem is the closing doors. So Trigiel had to safe Leba by stopping the doors from closing... interesting.

But the doors were closing too quickly. There was just no solution to this problem. Trigiel just was not powerful enough to get the ending he wants. His mind was split into two. One part wants to chase Vitress, have some fun and continue the fight. While the other part was reminding Trigiel of the mission. Chasing Vitress and letting Leba killed wouldn't exactly provide results. And Trigiel could always come back of course.

The little voice in his head, screaming with a muffled tone: 'but those poor Xillomba might die' was completely ignored by Trigiel, he just didn't really think that the Xillomba would die, or just didn't care.

It's nice to have fun, but at a certain point, business just comes first. And so the Teprogrenaian Padawan stays in the dark, dominating the room as the only point of light.

      The doors fully closed.

The moment he had made his decision, Trigiel already jumped right at the sauced-and-spiced hunter. In one motion, both his lightsabers retracted halfway back into his armpockets. Enough to have his hands free, enough to immediate have his sabers ready after his move. Trigiel trusted the forward pointed sabers deep into the guy and grabbed the guy at the same time. The cyborg used the combined gravitational force of the guy and himself to roll backwards and throw the guy against the door with a firm kick. While in his roll, the sabers deactivated a moment to make room for the roll.

Without hesitation, Trigiel stands up and his lightsabers shove back into his hands. He turns around and focuses on the other 4 bounty hunters. The one struggling with Leba is not an issue right now.

With a dash Trigiel closed towards the closest bounty hunter, slicing and dicing him into four bits. Headlight glowing bright red and flashing lightsabers is the last thing the hunter saw. An extend of Trigiels arm finishes of the second hunter close by as the lightsaber cut him right through the heart.

Using both lightsabers, Trigiel fends of the blaster shots, his artificial eye, glowing blades and the laser bolts the only bright lights in the darkness, with an occasional flash of red burning armour and flesh when Trigiel hit the next bounty hunter. With another dash, he closes in towards the last standing bounty hunter. From down to up he slashes the hunter in two with a mighty sweep of his powerful weapon.

Finally, Trigiel walks towards the bounty hunter struggling with Leba. The jedi walks towards the head, careful not get hit by the two struggling bodies. With a precise and practised sweep, Trigiel cut of the head of the last bounty hunter.

With all threats removed, Trigiel deactivates his lightsabers. With his red headlight he looks at Leba: "This better be worth the trouble. Now would you please be so kind to come along with me to Union city?" Trigiel asked, not very friendly at all.

((OOC: Because of your OOC note, I feel that simply letting this plan fail would be the wrong thing. You're confused because you misunderstand the speed of the situation, and my OOC note to make clear the effects of your choice: there is a clear mismatch between what you are envisioning and what is actually going on right now. This happens sometimes.

To clarify the situation: The doors are closing way to fast for this to work, that's why Trigiel has to choose IN or OUT. Gar is not going to be able to help you because he is simply to slow to even get near the door... (And to afraid to be of any use anyway)

Your plan, though cool, is simply to slow to execute succesfully. As I said: "If you decide to remain in the room, you get carte blanche on how you dispatch the six bounty hunters and save Leba in the darkness (you do have a rather big advantage over everyone in there after all ^_^) as long as it takes some time to do so."

Meaning: If you stay in the room, we go out of combat and I hand you control over the rest of the combat scene as you get to take out all the bounty hunters outside of combat. They are suddenly at an enormous disadvantage, allowing you to take be as cool as possible and show off your cyborg powers! However, this will take time and obviously Vitress won't be twiddling her thumbs during this time but making her escape :P

If you jump out of the room, through the fast-closing doors, you get to continue your fight with Vitress. But you leave Leba behind to die.

At this point in the Jedi Knight trial you have to make a choice and live with the consequences.

I leave it up to to decide whether you to rewrite your post if based on my explanation. If you leave it like this, I'll simply go with Trigiel desperately trying to safe Leba and at the same time be able to go after Vitress... Though the world (and therefore the speed of the door) does not change because you think otherwise.))

((OOC: I indeed had the slower more dramatic closing doors in my mind. I will rewrite my post shortly.))

Leba took has sweet time answering the question. That is, until the smell of burnt flesh hit him. In the angry red light of Trigiel's single eye, he could see the expression on Leba's face change to fear.

"Oh yessss, Leba would looooove to see Union City! I was being oppressed by an evil cyborg, but now the heroic Jedi have saved me!"

Leba was silent for a moment.

"Maybe the heroic Jedi would like to..", Leba's next sentence was rudely interrupted by a loud announcement coupled with the activation of red emergency lighting in the room: "Panka Puffee!"

With the red lighting being activated, Trigiel saw the destruction around him. Severed limbs and heads of killed bounty hunters were strewn about. And several of the party-goers were lying on the floor, most likely hit by stray blaster bolts during the fight. Gar, ever the courageous, crawls back up from behind a large vase he was hiding behind.

"Oh noooo.", Leba whined, "The self-destruct! Only Vitress haves the control codes, we must leave quick or we go boom!", he shouts as he makes his way to the blast door. "NooooOOOOooo...", he shouts again "Jedi, the door is blocked, we are going to die here!"
