((OOC: This is a continuation of the [ Hyperspace ] Transport of Masuk' faik-khush from Erau mission.
Deployed resources:
The moment the little fleet dropped out of hyperspace, two wings of Mandalorian fighters detached from one of the nearby dogfights, and headed straight for the Eclipse. As the Shadow Sagittari Malachite was spinning up its weapons, the crew on the fighter deck sprung into action. After a last flight-ready check Trigiel and Darones launched into space, the only sound they could hear the hum of their engines, and the bleeps of their droid wing-members.
"This is the Shadow Sagittari Malachite taks force calling Union forces. We have arrived in the My'enru system and are proceeding to clear pre-arranged flight corridor 23-beta. Be advised that our party is on the surface.", came the broadcast from the heavy cruiser. A reply was received immediately: "This is admiral Cimrab speaking for the Union Defence Forces. We are currently unable to render assistance. I'm afraid you are on your own. Cimrab out."
"All squadrons be advised, our scanners are picking up incoming boogies emerging from behind the moon. Three corvettes, a frigate and twelve fighter wings. Visual identification as Mandalorian.", came a neutral female voice from the Eclipse.
The two jedi had but a moments notice to determine their plan before the enemy was upon them!

((OOC: I believe I haven't decently explained yet how my fighters work, so I do that here now to prevent issues later :)
Also, are the fighter wings separate from the jedi, or are the jedi 2 of the 7 wing leaders? I assumed here that Trigiel and Darones are respectively Scateat 2 and 6.))
Before being led to a fighter, Darones was given a quick course about Teprogrenaian fighters in one of the briefing rooms abort the Carina-Sitra. A Danar explained: "Every fighter wing exists of a wing leader, accompanied by 6 droid fighters. The droid fighters act like an extension of the wing leader: They are to bring extra fire power, and act as a shield for incoming fire and missiles, especially missiles. The droid fighters act partially autonomous, with evading fire power and shooting enemies in their sights. The wing leader give specific orders to the droids, like: intercept the missile, cover me, etc. As a result, the wing will always stay together as much as possible. When the wing leader gets down, the droid fighters bring the wing leader back to the cruiser. After that, they can join another wing, the cruiser, go in the fight as stand alone fighters or stay at the cruiser on stand-by."
Upon entering the battle scene, the Teprogrenaian fighter and bomber wings launched, ready for action.
"This is squad leader Trigiel all wings report in."
"Scateat 3 standing by"
"Scateat 4 standing by"
"Scateat 5 standing by"
"Fundibal 1 standing by"
"Fundibal 2 standing by"
Meanwhile, the captain of the Carina-Sitra contacted the Captain of the Shadow Sagittari Malachite: "Shadow Sagittari Malachite, this is the Carina-Sitra, we and the Carina-Nostro will cover the Eclipse. You can take the wings and cut off the incoming Mandalorians."
((OOC: EDIT: I changed the OOC explanation about the Teprogrenaian fighters to an IC explanation.))

"Captain," Trigiel said to the captain of the Shadow Sagittari Malachite, "remember what I said earlier, you have to be my eyes and ears. I can take care of the situation, but I need to stay posted on the events in order to react on them. Else I'm flying blind out here."
Then he continued to the rest of the small fleet as well: "all units, remember our objective, our goal is to cut a path trough the enemy lines, not to win the war. Your main objective is to stay alive! Stay together and we can make it all out of alive with the artefact.
Darones, take your wing and intercept the 2 incoming fighter wings. It shouldn't take too long for you take them out and it gives you a chance to get used to the fighter and its wing.
Carina-Sitra and Carina-Nostro, go in 1 click and shield the eclipse from incoming enemies. Be mindful of fire from the other side.
Shadow Sagittari Malachite, go in 3 clicks and focus fire power on the corvettes before they can board us. Provide suppressing fire power against the Mandalorian fighters. But fall back to the Carina's when the enemies are creating too much pressure.
The rest, follow the Shadow Sagittari Malachite and intercept the incoming units. Fundibal squadrons, focus your firepower on the frigate. Scateat, provide cover. Tight formation, don't let their superior numbers swarm you. And don't get caught in the suppressing fire of the Shadow Sagittari Malachite."
Together with the other squadrons, Trigiel moved in with his wing to cover the Fundibal bomber wings. Focussing on keeping the Mandalorian fighter wings busy so the bombers could focus on the frigate.

"Thanks" Darones said as he gratefully accepted the women's offer and walked over to the other fighter "This will make things a little easier."
Moments later, while in space, Darones responded to Trigiel's rolecall.
"We should be ready here as well Trigiel. I must say these fighters take some getting used to, but I'll get the hang of it eventually. I'll go see what I can do about those incoming"
And with that Darones fired up his engine once more and went after his designated targets, followed suit by the rest of his fighter wing. Not yet knowing the full extend of the capabilities of his fighters and the function of his wing, Darones kept it simple for the moment and gave to following order
"Follow my lead and lets pick them off one by one." for now his strategy was one of strafing, pick a target, fire at it with full force and pull out before the rest was able to respond or react. While there was still time, he preferred to go in and out and not commit to any prolonged fights for the moment.
While executing his manoeuvre he contact Trigiel once again, Hey, tell me.. how complicated can I make my orders?
((Check: 11 = 5 Force Level + 4 Fitness + 2 Pilot -- picking a fight with the two incoming fight wings, intercepting them before they can reach the Ecplise)) ((OOC: I'll join Elmer in his reasoning, Fitness seems to most logical attribute to use here, as this is likely to be a lengthy ordeal in cramped space and tough conditions, given my tactic of choice, Intuition would be another logical choice, in which case the check result would be 12.))

"As complicated as they were normal beings, just keep in mind that they are just droids, so they might not be very effective in complicated manoeuvres. And their vocabulary is limited to flight related communications, so don't give orders like: Execute a Veolian Marriage, they won't understand that."

((OOC: I think that piloting will be mostly done on mental attributes, as you are not actually dragging your fighter through space; you are using your mind to determine what you need to do, and a simple pull on the stick will make the fighter do it... Though I do understand the reasoning behind fitness -- I think it is too early in the fight to call for 'lenghty ordeal' checks ^_^
For now, both checks are approved))
As Darones fired up his engines, all his droid wingmen checked in with whirring voices and punched up there engines as well. He quickly targetted the first fighter of the two nearby incoming mandalorian wings, and again his droids followed suit. The dogfight was hard and fast, but the Mandalorians were outmatched by the quickness of the padawan. With a bit of practice, Darones even got the hang of ordering the droids around, though to him, some of the Droids seemed a bit suicidal in their maneuvres.
A short radio message from one of the droids enlightened him as to why. He received the message "Bzzt, whirrrrr. This is Scateat 6-4. Hull blocking maneuvre to protect wingleader from debris-collision with 74% fatality risk." just before one of the droid fighters roughly interposed itself between a piece of debris Darones had already seen and still had plenty of time to correct for. It seemed that these droids couldn't completely handle the fact that Darones could take risks normal fighter pilots couldn't be expected to survive. These droids would need some readjustment on their priorities for Jedi pilots.
Darones made short work of the two incoming wings, and quickly joined the larger fight!
Roughly following Trigiel's orders, the Shadow Sagittari Malachite moved in to engage the mandalorians, followed by the fighter and bomber wings. The two Carina's took up position to protect the Eclipse, and simultaneously opened long-range fire on first corvette. As soon as the Shadow was within range of its long-range canons, the heavy cruiser unloaded its first salvo. A luckiy hit struck the first corvette as well, effectively decomissioning it.
The Mandalorians did not seem to be impressed by this feat, and soon the dog-fight was in progress. With the mandalorian fighters easily outnumbering the Union forces 2 to 1, the Jedi were pushed to their limits to keep them from breaking through. Especially since the mandalorian frigate didn't seem to care about its own fighters, and happily sprayed point-defence fire into the dog fight. The Shadow exchanged capital fire with the mandalorian frigate, but both vessels withstood the attacks of the other.
After roughly ten minutes into the dog fight, Trigiel observed something strange. The spray and pray tactics of the mandalorian Frigate actually seemed to work. None of the mandalorian fighters were hit, but the Teprogrenaiang fighters were taking heavy casualties. Something was wrong about this fight, but Trigiel couldn't put his finger on it yet.
Right now, the dog fight was in full progress with red and green plasma bolts dancing around in the cloud of fighters like happy fire flies. The Mandalorians had lost their first corvette, and three of their fighter wings were taken out already. On the Union side, only a single fighter wing was taken out.
The remaining mandalorian corvettes apparead to veer upwards while launching heavy torpedoes at the Shadow. Their direction seemed intended to have them pass over the dog fight and towards the Eclipse. The enemy frigate seemed content to remain where it was, using only point-defence fire while rotating to present as small a target to the Shadow as possible. All Union capital vessels and the scanning vessel were unharmed at the moment.
If left unhindered, it would be a few more minutes before the corvette's would be above the dog fight. And it was completely unclear what the mandalorian frigate would be doing in that time...

When the wing leader of Scateat 5 was fatally hit, the 2 remaining droid fighters immediately switched to recovery mode:
"Pwwrt, bweep, Scateat 5 host down, scateat 5-1 switching to recovery mode and bring him in. Scateat 5-6 fly to cover" The first droid said.
The least damaged droid fighter attached himself to what was left of the wing leader, while the most damaged fighter flew cover and acted like a shield if necessary.
Meanwhile the captain of the Teprogrenaian cruiser the Carina-Nostro saw what the Mandalorian corvette was doing.
"Torpedo salvo imminent, move the Carina-Nostro to cover the Eclipse, divert more power to the shields."
The Carina-Nostro steered upwards to get in the line of fire between the Mandalorian Corvettes and the Eclipse, the goal was to shoot down torpedo's with point defence, and physically block any torpedo that was coming through.
((OOC: I hope it isn't bad if I try to recover my wing leader with the destroyed wing?))

So far, the fight seemed to go rather well, they had minimal losses and it seemed that they could clear a path for the ground team once they are ready. They only had to hold this up for six hours or so. So the jedi was facing a decision: keep stalling, or try to win fast... keep stalling, try to win... stalling... SITH!
"Fundibal 1 and 2, expect increased enemy fire, don't take any risks!
Everybody, I suspect a Mandalorian jedi to be on board of the frigate.
Clear the frigate space, lure their fighters into our field of fire and assault them with heavy fire. Don't fly into the frigate area of fire.
Darones, fly cover for Fundibal 1 and 2."

If there were no other enemies nearby who could attack the Eclipse, the Carina-Sitra moved in as well.
"Copy that Trigiel, we move in to provide cover fire."
The Carina-Sitra flew forward till it was near the "Shadow Sagittari Malachite", so they could together provide cover fire for their fighters.

With Trigiel in the thick of the fighter brawl, the Union forces, though outnumbered, seemed able to stand their ground. His orders to clear the frigate helped, but this was met with a very simple counter by the frigate: it started to move forward slowly. It kept up with the moving fighter cloud, but made sure not to overextend towards the capital vessels.
At the same time, Darones was flying cover of the Fundibal wings as they made their approach towards the enemy frigate. Darones' presence proved to be an effective deterrent to enemy fighters, preventing the bombers from being harassed on their approach. The frigate itself seemed to ignore the two bomber wings, opting to focus as much fire into the brawl.
While the two Jedi were busy with flying, the larger picture changed as well. The Carina-Nostro moved over the eclipse, and diverted power to the shields and point-defence turrets in an attempt to block the torpedoes heading for the Eclipse. The blocking manoeuvre turned out to be very successful, with none of the torpedoes getting past the Carina-Nostro's defensive shield. Unfortunately, the torpedoes were very effective at what they are made for: damaging capital ships!
The Teprogrenaian cruiser took serious damage, to both its propulsion and shields. Based on the radio chatter, it seemed it could take another salvo and get away with it, but any more would probably disable the at least some of the primary systems of the ship. And to make matters worse, not only was a second salvo of torpedoes fired from the Mandalorian corvettes but 2 of their fighter wings seemed to retreat from the dog fight to join the corvette's on their approach.
As Trigiel became aware of the situation regarding the corvettes and the teprogrenaian cruiser, Darones was faced with another sudden surprise. Just before the bomber wings were in its range, he saw all of the frigate's point defence cannons swivel towards him and the approaching bombers. He knew that the bombers would need to come within the point defence range of the frigate. He had to make a quick decisions: abort to save the bombers, or take the risk to have a chance at damaging the frigate!

"I'm no fan of these odds," Darones commented on the run he was making with the bomberwings towards the frigate, "Risking this much to damage the frigate isn't worth losing our bomber wings. I'll bring them back around and come at the corvettes from behind."
Darones then ordered the bombers to divert their attention away from the frigate as they started to disengage before making a turn, which hopefully bought them a favourable position behind the corvettes, closing it in from all sides.

((OOC: Apologies for the late post. I haven't been feeling well lately, and I always try to have my full attention with the post writing.))
With both Jedi placing their attention on the Corvette problem, Darones attacking the corvettes from behind with the bomber wings and Trigiel flying interference for the torpedoes, the Mandalorian corvettes decided to back off for now and head back to the frigate. Of course, this would take a while, but they would soon get cover from three of the Mandalorian fighter wings heading out of the fray and towards Darones' group.
After a few moments, the Shadow had finally made the necessary rotations to open up their main cannons on the corvettes as well. Trigiel saw the twin shots of Praetorian's plasma projectors move past at a leisurely pace, their trails forming a colourful spectacle as the dissipating plasma whirled through space. With eerie precision both shots slammed into the belly shields of one of the retreating corvette producing blinding flashes of white light (for those close by). When optical sensors and eyes were adjusted, the shields of the corvette were down!
The whole fight seems to have refocussed around the corvettes by now, with most of the Mandalorian fighters redirecting towards the unshielded corvette in an attempt to protect it. During the repositioning of the fighter wings, the Union lost 2 more wings, while the Mandalorians lost another four. By now, the fight seemed to be coming down to the fire power and manoeuvring of the larger vessels, as the number of fighters was slowly thinning out on both sides.
And then, just as Trigiel and Darones got their bearings after the blinding flashes, they felt a disturbance in the force, immediately followed by a report from the Shadow: "Be adviced, the Mandalorian frigate just launched three more fighter wings heading straight for us. We will have to refocus our point defence fire to protect ourselves."

"The corvettes are backing off, we continue our assault." The captain of the Sitra said. The cruiser followed up to his words and the Carina-Sitra moves forward, chasing the corvettes.
At the same time, the Carina-Nostro started to move forward as well. Both cruisers set a course to both sides of the enemy frigate, to flank the ship. The Carina-Sitra is steering higher as the ship chases the corvettes, the Carina-Nostro is steering lower to flank the frigate.
Meanwhile, with Scateat-4 and 3 reported being down, the remaining droid fighters of the squadrons tried their best to bring in the remains of the pilot, If there were any droid fighters left.

"This is bad, our fighters are down. Darones, it is us versus eight."
Then Trigiel gave new orders to his fighters: "Scateat-2 swarm, new orders: detach Scateat 2, attach Fundibal-1. Fly active escort and intercept hostile targets according to standard priority protocols."
Then Trigiel reopened the channel to the capital ship commanders: "I'm going to engage the new bogeys. I have a bad feeling over them."
Now alone, Trigiel had to be a little more aware of the enemies. While at the other hand, he had a lot more space to manoeuvre. He tried to spot the leader of the three new fighter wings and focussed fire on him.

"Understood," Darones said as he responded to Trigiel's warning "My current position isn't exactly favourable either. I'll get the bombers back to safety and then come back to help you."
Pinched in between the frigate behind him and the corvettes with their escort in front, Darones was in a rather tight spot. With very few viable options, Darones felt he needed to pull the bombers out altogether and allow them to regroup within the cover of their cruisers. He didn't however want to miss out on the opportunity presented by the fact the shields were down on one of the corvettes either.
"Scateat-6 swarm, detach from scateat 6 leader and attach to Fundibal-2. Fly active escort and intercept hostile targets."
This freed up Darones, who could move more freely without risking damage to his fighter wing and offered him to option of helping Trigiel once the bombers had cleared out safely.
Fundibal-1 and Fundibal-2, launch missiles at the corvettes and then retreat to the safety of the cruisers.
Hopefully one of the missiles of the bombers would get through and damage the corvettes further, but more importantly the bombers would disengage from the fight and return to the relative safety of the cruisers once their pass was completed.
Darones meanwhile did his best to keep the bombers clear of enemy fire and without a tail.
Once the run was complete and the bombers were on their way towards the cruisers, he turned his attention to the newly launched fighter wings to assist Trigiel.

((OOC: Trigiel's check is approved, Darones' check failed. Luckily, you were both there.))
Both Jedi turned their attention to the newly launched Mandalorian fighters after having made sure their wings were protecting valuable Union assets. At the same time, both Teprogrenaian cruisers started to move on the corvettes and the bombers directed their efforts towards the unshielded corvette as well.
Immediately after the bombers released their torpedoes, Darones steered away to join Trigiel. Now, the two jedi were flying in tandem. Two fighters against three wings.
As they neared the three wings, the comms chatter was positive! "This is funibal-1 leader, we scored two direct hits to the corvette's shield generator." a few seconds later, a second message came over the line "This is the Shadow Sagittari Malachite. Capital ship fire inbound, clear the vicinity of the corvette." a few moments later, the radio stuttered only with static interference from the explosions.
While the corvette was being destroyed, the three Mandalorian wings heading for the Shadow Sagittari Malachite weren't waiting. The two flanking wings broke formation to engage the two incoming fighters, while the third wing continued, seemingly on a crash course. How the six tiny fighters planned to affect the colossal Praetorian heavy cruiser was a mystery.
Unfortunately, Trigiel and Darones couldnt afford to pay attention to anything else right now, as they were engaged in a 2 versus 12 dog fight. Several minutes later, the two Jedi emerged victorious! Unfortunately, Darones fighter did not make it out in mint condition. His life support system was destroyed, and his propulsion was out. He had about ten minutes of air remaining, and was whirling towards the planet without any control over his machine.
As Trigiel's fighter turned about, and Darones' fighter twirled through space towards the planet, they could see the last of the Mandalorian fighters being turned to rubble by praetorian point defence fire.
The situation had seemed to turn in the favour of the Union. The Mandalorians had just lost 3 wings and a corvette. Their remaining fighters and vessels seemed to be backing off from the fight, with the frigate reversing their movement and slowly backing away from the oncoming Union ships.
"This is the Shadow Sagittari Malachite. Their suicide run inflicted minor damage to our engines and our fighter deck has been decompressed. We are capable of local manoeuvring and expect repairs to take an hour."
There was an important choice to be made right now: chase the Mandalorian vessels to remove their threat altogether, or remain to keep the corridor free and allow the Mandalorians to get away.

"This is the Carina-Sitra, roger that.
Scateat 6 leader is down, Eclipse, are you within range to retrieve padawan Darones?"
The flight control of the Teprogrenaian cuisers ordered a retrieval party to get Darones back before he floated all the way to the planet. Preferable from available ships on the cruiser but if that was not possible, two fighter escort droids from the fundibal squadron are ordered to bring Darones in.
Once the orders to safe Darones his ship are given, the captain of the Sitra asked: "Padawan Trigiel and Darones, it looks like the sky is clear. I believe we have space to chase the remaining Mandalorians down, what are your orders?"
((OOC: EDIT: I've changed the conditional setup of my post. The intention remains unchanged.))

"Scateat 2 leader here. Shadow Sagittari Malachite, I don't trust their run. Expect enemies within your ship, especially a sith warrior. If you can do so, flush your interiors. That should slow them down. I will come aboard to assist you. Please have a guide for me ready.
Carina-Sitra, Carina-Nostro, You can chase them down but stay within an action radius of 10 minutes.
Fundibal-squadrons, stay here."
Trigiel went directly for the Praetorian heavy cruiser. As Trigiel had limited knowledge of the Praetorian vessels, his guess was he should go to the engines first. He lands in the decompressed hangar bay, from there he entered the heavy cruiser and looked for a crew member capable of helping him. From there Trigiel rushed towards the engine room. If on his way the force told him to go somewhere else, Trigiel followed the guidance of the force.

That reply from the Eclipse after call from the Carina-Sitra came almost instantly
"I'm afraid our ship is not capable of mounting a rescue, we are simply not equipped for combat conditions, let alone salvage operations. By our estimates however, the Scateat 6 driod fighters should have sufficient time, speed and manoeuvrability to retrieve Padawan Darones' fighter; however it might be a close call and they should leave now. After all, protocols for rescue already exist.
In the meantime we can use our sensitive array's to look for any anomalies or unexpected signatures on board the Shadow Sagittari Malachite, all we need from them is to either drop shields briefly or forward us their shield frequency so that we may complete a scan."

Darones Rei - PC
Despite the fact that the fight was decided in their favour, Darones wasn't quite as lucky as he had hoped to be. His fighter had sustained considerable damage and honestly, he was lucky to be alive. By the time he got any sort of a bearing again, he realised that his problems were far from over.
His lifesupport system was destroyed and his propulsion as out as well, with only a limited amount of air left he needed to do something and fast. Fortunately Darones was a skilled pilot, and this wasn't the first time his engine had stalled out, if he could somehow get it work again, even briefly, he might just be able to regain some measure of control and slow down a bit to afford others the time to mount a rescue.
"Trigiel..." He said through a soft and distorted com, ".. sustained too mu... dam.. , attemp.. to rest... ...ine, ..st both .. li..upport ... ..ightco.."
While he was trying to get Trigiel up to speed of his situation, he ran a quick diagnostic of the fighter to see if he still had a viable change to restore propulsion, however briefly. If that wasn't possible there wasn't much he could do besides waiting it out and conserving his air supply. But if the diagnostic resulted in only minor damage to the engine and it had just stalled out to prevent further damage or an overload, he made one attempt to turn it back on to stabilise his fighter, before slamming on the breaks with all the juice he was able to squeeze out.
((Check: 13 = 5 Force Level + 5 Reason + 1 Mechanical Engineer + 2 Pilot -- running diagnostic and attempt to restart propulsion, however briefly, to regain some measure of control over spin and speed))
