[ Unity City ] Salia's First Mission

Dragonmaster352 - Storyteller
((OOC: This mission is for Salia only, you can not apply for this mission.))
It was busy in the hallways of the jedi temple. Young jedi where rushing to get to their morning classes on time. Then the intercom buzzed for an announcement.
"Salia, please report to master Leithor immediately."
The other younglings looked at each other and started whispering, this was the first time that Salia had been directly summoned by a Jedi Master over the intercom. Some of them gave Salia sympathetic looks, others looked at her like this was the last time they would see her. One older girl even wished her good luck.

Salia - PC
A loud clang echo'ed through the hall where Salia had been to head to class as the young jedi dropped a trash-can that for some unexplained reason she had been carrying.
Dodging her way between the Jedi, she slipped past a teacher, slamming into another student with a 'SORRY!' doing a doppler shift as she raced past towards the Jedi Masters office, up the stairs, past the protocol droid and bursting into master Leithor's office without bothering to knock.
"HI!" she called out happily.
'immediately' might have been the wrong term to use.

Master Leithor - NPC
Master Leithor didn't seem the least bit surprised by Salia bursting through the door. Unlike most of the other jedi masters he always seemed amused by Salia's over-abundance of energy.
He sat behind a large wooden desk, facing the door. Across from him where two empty seats.
"Ah, Salia welcome. It's been a while, please take a seat." He said as he gestured to the empty chairs.
After Salia sat down he sighed and looked her in the eyes.
"Salia, I need your help with something."

Salia - PC
Salia jumped over the chair, landing in it and sitting down, though never settling quietly, shifting about and looking around as if everything in the universe, but especially everything in this particular room, was exciting and interesting and demanded her immediate attention, all at the same time.
"Sure, I can help, I help out all the time, just this morning I helped clean up the digital board, though really all you have to do is hit the menu and select clean, but sometimes the teachers don't like the technology because they spend all their time meditating instead of learning how to use it and then they don't know and things aren't as fun when you don't know but I did know and so I held up my hand really really high when they asked if anyone wanted to help and then the teacher said I could help which was nice of them because I really wanted to help because helping other people is good even when its not very hard and so they said I had done well!" she explained to Master Leithor.

Master Leithor - NPC
The jedi master smiled, then his expression became more serious.
"Yes, well this is a bit different. There won't be any teachers or other jedi nearby if you need help and it can be dangerous."
Master Leithor stood up and walked around the desk and stopped in front of Salia. He made sure she looked at him and paid attention.
"Near the outer edges of Unity City there is a group of children. A part of the group are orphans or homeless, but recently they have taken other children into their midst. Their parents are worried. And the children have begun to commit crimes. It started out with small things. Graffiti and things like that, but then they started pickpocketing and even robbery.
And now things are getting out of hand. When a worried mother went there to get her child, she was attacked without warning. She's laying in a hospital right now.
It is not known if they are doing this themselves or if someone is controlling them, but I want you to put a stop to it. Show them what their doing is wrong and make sure it stops.
Now go to your room and get the things you think you will need. When you have done that and if you think you are ready, meet me at the front gate of the temple."
((OOC: Please post a list of things you want to bring. If Salia has a lightsaber you don't need to bring it.))

Salia - PC
Salia thought carefully for a while as Master Leithor spoke, or perhaps she was playing or planning a game inside her head, there was no way to be entirely certain with her. Regardless, she nodded sagely when Master Leithor had stopped speaking, moving off to get her things as he had instructed.
Soon she arrived at the entrance of the temple, looking not so much prepared for a serious mission as ready to go out on a play-date.
((OOC: Salia is bringing:
Salia does not have a lightsaber - her Masters consider it to be an unsafe idea, so instead she uses a wooden staff as a training saber.))

((OOC: Salia is bringing:
- Her regular outfit consisting of a white bodysuit with headdress for her lekku, a knee length skirt and loose top.
- A large and perfectly smooth, neon-pink rubber ball which is ridiculously bouncy - this is one of Salia's prized possessions.
- A small backpack containing:
- a dozen hand sized bouncing balls in various bright colours - effectively smaller versions of the pink one
- Several longer and shorter pieces of rope
- A small pink music player with some of her favourite songs
- A collection of guango's - a sweet fruit that is a bit like a peach.

Master Leithor - NPC
((OOC: I figured as much but didn't want to assume.))
As Salia approached the entrance she could see Master Leithor to a tall person. The person nodded to the Jedi Master, snapped a salute and took of in the direction of the city.
Then he noticed Salia and smiled.
"Ah there you are. Good."
The man crouched down to look her in the eye. He lay a hand on her shoulder.
"Salia, I'm confident that you can do this. Trust your instincts and the Force."
He handed her a piece of paper with directions.
"Follow these instructions to your destination. May the Force be with you."
And with that he let her go and went back into the temple.
The instructions on the piece of paper where simple and some had a small picture to help, Salia shouldn't have any trouble following them.

Salia nodded, taking the instructions and racing off, moments later racing by again in the proper direction.
Though easily distracted, Salia took her mission seriously and made her way according to the instructions. The pictures helped a lot too.
No doubt soon she found herself at her destination, backpack on her back and large neon pink rubber ball in her hands.

When Salia arrived she heard someone cry.
A little girl was laying on the ground. A nearby adult quickly went to the child to help. As the adult consoled the child, Salia saw the kids hand go into the adults pocket and come out with a wallet.
The adult didn't seem to notice a thing and when the child stopped crying he gave the kid a pat on the head. The kid ran off.
Salia could follow the kid if she wanted as she would probably lead Salia to the group of bad children.

Salia races after the kid happily, as if the chase was some sort of game. She didn't even try very hard to keep hidden, just racing off after the little girl as if they were in a match to see who could get their the fastest, with the small detail that Salia didn't know where the finish line was being swept under the rug of the competition.
When the girl noticed her, she'd wave happily. "HI!"

The moment Salia greeted her, the girl tripped. She fell flat on her face, stretched out make her fall look rather funny. Still laying on her face, Salia could hear a muffled "Au."
Slowly getting back the girl wiped a few tears out of her eyes and dusted herself off. Then she noticed Salia again and got angry.
"What did you do that for?! Who are you?! Why are you following me?!"

"I didn't mean to make you fall!" Salia told the girl, seeming for a moment rather miffed that the girl would think that, though quickly cheering up again as if nothing had happened.
"I'm Salia! Do you want to play ball?" Salia showed the large pink ball she was carrying, offering it to the girl to hold. "Playing ball is fun and it is healthy too because you move and you should move because when you do you get healthy so that means its healthy, but much more importantly it is fun, because fun is important, and if you have fun, that's good for you, and its fun too which I guess most fun things are because that is sort of the point of fun things, but anyway, I like doing fun stuff and I figured you might like to play too and if you have any friends, they can join too and then we can have fun together, because I brought some other toys to play with too, because playing is fun and when you do it together it is even more fun, which was sort of the whole point of the fun thing I was talking about as that is important and I also mentioned healthy but mostly fun, because fun is the most important, especially when doing stuff like playing ball." she clarified

When Salia asked the girl if she wanted to play she looked excited for a moment. But then her attitude changed back.
"Why, would I want to play with you?" Her tone was a bit arrogant. "Besides I need to go back to our hideout, but you can tag along if you want. We can always use more kids."
Despite the fact Salia was still in training she could sense the girl wasn't being honest when she said she didn't want to play.

Salia - PC
"Uhm, because its fun?!" Salia giggled, seeming to think the query to be very silly as she walked with the girl, bouncing the ball on the ground before her like basketball.
Upon heariung about the hideout, she got excited. "Neat! Tag is fun and the more people the more fun, because then you have more fun to share between you and that means there's more fun to go around because fun grows when you share it until it becomes a bigger amount of fun for all!"
Bouncing her ball before her, Salia followed the girl to the hideout.

As she followed the girl, bouncing along with her ball, Salia began singing a song encouraging the merits of playing games, which mostly involved them being fun and making you happy.

Dragonmaster352 - Storyteller
The hideout turned out to be a very old looking building, pieces of wood where nailed over the windows and there where a few small holes in the walls. There where a few children in old, worn clothes outside.
The girl led Salia inside. There a very tall girl, sporting a pair of cybernetic legs, approached them.
"Miri, what took you so long. And who is this?" The tall girl said, a stern tone in her synthetic voice.
The shorter girl, apparently named Miri, flinched and pointed to Salia.

The tall girl raised an eyebrow.
"If you want to play games I suggest you get out of here."
She turned back to Miri.
"You got anything?" Miri showed her the wallet. "Then go bring it to him."
Miri walked past the tall girl and through a large door that closed behind her. Salia could sense that Miri was afraid.
When the tall girl noticed Salia hadn't left she crossed her arms in front of her.
"Why are you still here?"

Salia - PC
Salia looked confused at the tall girl, as if she had just told the young Twi'lek that turquoise bicycle shoe-fins actualized radishes greenly.
"There's lots of kids here. We can do all sorts of fun things!" she countered, looking at the tall girl with happy enthusiasm. "What kind of things do you like to play?" she inquired.

Dragonmaster352 - Storyteller
The tall girl had just opened her mouth to say something, when the large door Miri went through was busted open.
Miri came running out holding her arm. It was bent in a way it clearly wasn't supposed to.
"Get back here!" A male voice screamed from the other side of the door.
Miri hid behind Salia.
A short chubby person with a very angry expression on his face appeared in the doorway.
"One lousy wallet!?" The short guy walked past the tall girl and shoved Salia aside. She could smell the stench of alcohol on him.
The short guy raised his hand to hit Miri, but before he could the tall girl stepped in. She wrapped an arm around the guy and whispered something in his ear. His expression changed.
"Well I'll let you off easy this time." The short guy says. "But your not getting any food for two days."
He turned around and went back where he came from. The tall girl brushed past Salia to follow him. As she did she whispered something, just loud enough for Salia to hear.
"Please, help Miri."
The large door closed behind her.

Salia - PC
Salia looked very confused at the scene that had displayed before her.
"He's mean..." she concluded, sticking out her tongue towards the large door and going 'PFFFRRRT!'.
Moving over to Miri, Salia settled down next to her. She wasn't exactly knowledgeable on healing so she looked at Miri's bent arm.
"Are you okay? We should find an adult so they can look at your arm" she knew. "And after you get ice-cream, so its all good and also I brought Guango's." she offered one from her small backpack. "Guango's are good and they give you energy."

"Adults don't care about us kids, that's why we're here." Miri said. Looking around she quickly grabbed the offered Guango and ate it like she hadn't eaten in days.
An older boy came to Miri and Salia carrying a white case with a big red cross on it. He took out a small scanner and ran it along Miri's arm.
"We need to set the bone." He looked at Salia. "Grab her and hold her in place."
He grabbed a small stick from the case and held it in front of Miri. "Here bite down on this."
Miri quickly obeyed and the boy grabbed her bent arm at the wrist with two hands. Then he waited for Salia to get ready.

Salia - PC
Salia looked a bit unsure.
"I think we need an adult..." she noted, but she did take hold to get ready, wanting to help as best she could.
"Adults aren't so bad, they are just not very smart. I think it's because their head is too high up in the sky and it becomes too cold and then they can't think, that's why you should always cover your lekku, because if they get cold its not good, but I guess maybe its not just the cold because some adults have lots of hair to keep them warm and they are still pretty silly most of the time, and many of them go out -every- -single- -day- to do things they don't want to do which just seems like a really silly way to spend your time to me because what fun is doing things you do not want to do?" she continued.
Even if it wasn't intentional, Salia's chatter was very distracting. Actually, Salia was distracting in general, to the point of it becoming annoying quickly.

"Ready?" The boy asked.
Miri gave a nod.
"Ok three..., two..., one..." After counting down the boy gave a single strong pull on Miri's wrist.
Why Salia's rambling was distracting it wasn't enough to distract Miri from the immense pain that came from setting the bone in her arm. Her face distorted from pain as she bit down on the stick. The boy was strong, but Salia managed to keep Miri in place.
Then Miri went limp in Salia's arms.
Looking at Salia the boy gave a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry she just fainted. She'll wake up in a few minutes, just keep her like that for now."
He grabbed something from the white case. Snapping it, Salia could hear a cracking sound. He then removed a protective coating an stuck it to Miri's now set arm.
The boy closed the case and got up.
"Just call for help if some things wrong."
The boy left, now Salia was alone with an unconscious Miri. After a few minutes Miri woke up, she looked a bit sleepy.

Salia looked at Miri as the girl slowly woke up.
"I don't think that guy is very nice, not the older boy, he is nice though I think he is a little bit strange, but the mean guy who was being mean with his meany mister meanypants thing, because you shouldn't hit people because its mean, unless they are really bad people whom you have to stop but even then you should not just hit people, because its mean and also you have to think before you act, but you were not bad so there was no reason to hit you and why does he want so many wallets anyway, you cannot use more than one at a time anyway so it does not make any sense and even if it did, it was nice of you to give him one and he should be grateful not be nasty because its not enough because you should be grateful for gifts instead of wanting more because that is really rude and also selfish and he should have learned that on his birthdays when he was little but I think he already knows and he is just really really mean because he is a mean ass mister meanpants."
She nodded firmly as if to strengthen her statement.
"We should find an adult..." she knew, and finally insisted on telling Miri. "Because otherwise its not good."
