[ Senate ] <vote> Senate Security Changes
"I agree with Senator Nehket Aeka for once, " The representative of the Kingdom of Komès voiced rather firmly, "This is a gross violation of the law and moreover shows the incapability of Senator Bolv'ar to perform even the simplest duties of his office as Chancellor. We dare to question whether he is even fit to continue as Chancellor.."

"I find the violation of the law worrisome and perhaps indicative of poor bureaucracy, however as there were no illegitimate votes after the original date of closure and it is in the interest of security to move this along fast we feel that it may be best for the Union to, this one time, carry the motion. In consultation with the ministry of justice of course."

"Chancellor,
It is not the fact that the law was broken, it is the fact that no valid reason has been offered for this. Instead of offering such a reason, you offered an apology. When challenged on this, you offer up no reason to comply with the law, but you immediately turn toward the ministry of justice. It seems as if you have no reason for this unlawful delay."
Just as Nehket Aeka wanted to continue her argument, a veolian man in official garb entered the senate room, and quickly walked towards the veolian senator with an sealed paper scroll. Those nearby, or with good eyesight, could make out the imperial seal on the scroll. The veolian senator broke the seal, opened the scroll and read the contents.
With a neutral look on her face, and continued to adress the senate.
"Fellow senators, chancellor,
I am afraid I can no longer perform my duties as Minister of Foreign Affairs. As of this moment, I resign as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
I have been informed that I shall not comment on the issue."
With her last remark, she sat down, and remained silent.

"Your call that I do not take Union Security seriously is uncalled for, Senator Danar Tassar. Furthermore, I find it notable that the same senators who held up the debate about replacing the current senate security force for weeks by insisting that the Jedi are untrustworthy are now complaining about a delay of three days. If that delay poses an unacceptable risk, then what have you exposed us to Senator Danar Tassar?
Let us call a spade a spade and not try to pretend that this issue is about security or about feeling unsafe. This is about an administrative delay of a few days - caused by a delay of paperwork for which I claim full responsibility - which has had no ill effect whatsoever, but which is admittedly a delay in the technical sense of the word. To this I have already admitted, for this apologies have been issued and about this I have agreed to let the Ministry of Justice make a ruling. I expect to be able to make my case to him and I am certain he will see reason."

"The problem is in the way this issue is handled, not the point that we are unsafe. If had the feeling we are unsafe, then either I would be accompanied by at least 2 Fecta Guardians or Colossi or there would be a hologram of me standing here. If the problem is paperwork," the senator quickly continued, "then why didn't you say so? Apparently you have an acceptable excuse, which you could have mentioned directly, in stead of trying to ignore the law.
As you now eventually did offer a valid reason, to me that is, I see no reason anymore to bring this to minister of justice and let the motion carry."

"Has the Jedi Councel received command over the Senate security already? Are we protected now Chancellor?"
((OOC: Technically the Ministry of Justice, which would be Elmer's character Senator Shahkra of Bisidn, was called in to rule, but I am going to presume that since there have been calls to no longer need the Ministry of Justice, this matter is closed and processed silently))
"The transfer of Senate Security to the Jedi is currently being rounded up. All major paperwork and security codes have been transferred to the Jedi and all that is awaiting is the final finishing touches. Of course I feel I can say we are all safe."

"Thank you for this clarification chancellor. I think we should be capable of closing this issue now so we can continue with other things such as military subsidies. Is there anybody that still wants to discuss this subject?"
((OOC: 2 posts collapsed))
((OOC: I thought that there was a formal complain needed, just some people saying 'we need the minister of justice' is not a formal request in my opinion, especially when others are saying it is not necessary.))

"Fellow Senators,
I hereby officially announce the completion of the transfer. The Jedi are now handling Senate Security.
Thank you."
