"This week is precisely four weeks before the start of the new electoral period, which means the time has come for candidates to register.
As the current Chancellor, it is my full intention to continue on the current course. We have not grown as much as I had hoped, but that does not mean we should give up - instead it means we should redouble our efforts!
The senators of Highmons and Heimgol have supported me in past periods and they will once again stand by my side for the upcoming elections.
Our concrete plans are to continue the Unions current course of expansion:
As I believe that many smalls parts make a big whole, we will promote the entry into the Union of Minor Worlds - that is worlds that do not have the economic size to fully participate in intergalactic communities. We will also continue to support colonisation efforts undertaken by member worlds with sponsoring and protection, and we will seek where we can aid new members in the transition process so can join more easily.
Through these actions, we promote new members to join us, we enlarge and enhance the position of our existing members and we bring back the advantages of a large scale Union to all. Our goal for the coming electoral period continues to be: get big fast!
I thank you all in advance for your continued support and I stand open to your input!"
- The message was delivered with the Senators for Highmons and Heimgol standing to the left and right of the Chancellor, both immediately voicing their seconds for the Chancellors candidacy.
((OOC: If you wish to discuss the expansionist strategy of the Miomanian Colonists, the details of their plans for Minor worlds or ask clarifications and positions on various issues, this is where to do it

"Candidate Acehtoo,
The Veolian Commonwealth would like to know your opinion on the following subjects:
The Veolian Commonwealth would like to know your opinion on the following subjects:
- The status of faction military and Union military as a whole.
- The development of defensive, and possibly offensive, technologies with Union funds or support.
- Terraformation and it's entailed economic impact and ethical issues.
- Cost reductions on maintenance and government spending. This might entail reducing the Union taxation rates over all brackets.
"Thank you for these intelligent questions.
It is our belief that the Union military is currently at an acceptable level and may in fact be a bit too large for its purposes. We do not envision a need to increase our fleets, nor for individual member worlds to raise armies beyond their current. We do see merit in research and development to keep a technological advantage over any potential adversaries.
The ethics of terraformation are a hot topic in certain groups - it is our position that terraforming worlds on which no life currently exists is both ethical and economically interesting as it turns dead worlds into living ones. In the past we have supported the development of new technologies in this area, and we will continue to do so and we will lend our support to the continuing process surrounding the terraformation of Unity.
With regards to tax-cuts, we believe using these as a motivator to promote certain developments such as tax breaks for new member worlds. Established worlds with solid economies do not need further tax breaks. This is a matter of sharing to make those who are economically weak stronger. The Union economy is only as strong as that of its weakest member, so strengthening our weaker members is to the benefit of the whole.
Does this answer your questions?"

"What is your opinion on the current integration between the Jedi and the Union, and how would you envision this relation in the future?"
"It is our belief that a closer cooperation between the Jedi and the Union would be fruitful. Should we be elected, we would make efforts to further this cooperation. The Jedi would not gain a position of political power within the Union, however, as we believe this should be reserved for elected officials, but we feel that given their impressive skills and abilities they can play a most beneficial role in some of the Unions operations."
