The ongoing war with the Slave Rebellion is quickly draining the funds the Union had set aside for the eventuality of war. Our current expenses are around the 3000 per , and we are nearing the end of the War Fund and Extended War Fund.

While we could access additional sources of funding to cover the costs for a short while, this would require us to redirect funding for future projects and maintenance of Union-wide infrastructure. The damage of which will likely be higher than that incurred by the war itself."

Therefore, the cabinet proposes to raise a temporary war tax to cover the extended costs of the war. We will now be voting on the introduction and fiscal form of these taxes.

The options are:"

1. Introduce a temporary war tax of 150 per per member, to last until the state of war is ended per basic vote. After the state of war is ended, the temporary war tax will be rescinded.
2. Limit the Union-paid maintenance fees paid to each Union member under article 1 of the Bozzy Spine Connection Law. The paid maintenance fees will be limited to a payment of at most 50 per , freeing up the necessary taxes to support the Union military. After the state of war is ended, the Ministry of Finance will redirect the freed taxes towards economic purposes and subsidies.
