After all the delegations have entered the senate the state secrets act went into effect and as a result, all personnel except for the ministers, senators and representatives were removed from the senate and the roof darkened.

"Fellow senators,

We have received confirmation that the Slave Rebellion is currently present in the Stellaria Argentum system — they appear to be in full control of the Remunzian system and appear to have taken control of the planet. Furthermore, we have received reports that Slave Rebellion Fleet 7 has just entered the Adii Nasla system and prepares to blockade.

Based on this overwhelming evidence, I can do nothing but conclude that we are at war with the Slave Rebellion."

"Within the Remunzian sector, two other Slave Rebellion fleets are present, and Remunzia is being used as a supply station by those fleets. Furthermore we have reports that each of these Slave Rebellion fleets are very large in number, but the individual power of each ship is small. Many of them are re-purposed civilian and commercial vessels.

The Hyperspace lanes in sector 12 -3 and the Bozzy Spine links to this system in Sector 13 -2 remain under our control, and Slave Rebellion forces are unable to use them at this time."

"As per the Alliance Declaration and attack on any single Union member is an attack on all Union members, and we are now meeting to agree upon a collective response. In light of the sudden and unprovoked attacks on no less than two Union members I will immediately open a vote to deploy the Union Defence Fleets.

Additionally, the Ministry of Defence will subsidize every Union member military fleet that is defensive or combat-ready and is committed to assisting in the Defence of the Union under the supervision of the Ministry of Defence."

"As a formality I move to declare war on the Slave Rebellion."

"Furthermore, I move for Special Enforcement to deploy Jedi in the Stellaria Argentum system, and on the Remunzian homeworld to cut the supply lines of the Slave Rebellion forces and to neutralize the Slave Rebellion central command if at all possible."

"The Hiocan Society is disturbed by the way the Slave Rebellion has abused the bilateral talks with the peaceful Remunzians to start a war with the Union.

The Hiocan Society wants to help and we would like to know what the strategy will be of the minister of defense?
The Hiocan fleet is at the moment inactive, but the fleet can become activate or if provided with (:capital-ships) undergo an upgrade to join the battle later with extra strength.

((OOC: Only Elmer makes (:capital-ships) so hopefully he is active enough to sell them. The Daryans also produce but Remco has stopped.))

The chancellor looked at the assembled senate, surprised by the lack of action and the general lethargy of the assembled delegations.
((OOC: 1 post collapsed))

((OOC: I have a reply here with the Remunzians, but I want to see if I can set up something in the Jedi Mission first. If this has not been accomplished by Friday, I will post with them then.))

'The Sundarian Federation seconds the motion to formally declare war on the Slave Rebellion.

We will also second a motion of special enforcement within the Stellaria Argentum system and the Remunzian homeworld, provided that the Remunzian Government give their permission as required by Union Law.'

And with statement, the Sundarian Senator looked towards the Remunzian delegation expectantly..

The chancellor too looks towards where the Remunzian delegation is normally seated.

Senator Salixa of the Silver Forests of Remunzia (mask of Tera Inogo)
PC

'Senator Salixa' looked rather nervous about the whole thing. She carefully shuffled forward.

"Remunzia..."

The Senator paused a moment then trying again as her voice seemed to fail her a moment. She looked like she was about to burst into crying - and though her makeup was fine, the red lines in her eyes suggested she might have already done so.

"Remunzia opposes war and violence at a deep and fundamental level. Our values of peace and harmony with nature are in direct opposition to it.

We ask the Union for their aid against the evil that the Slave Rebellion has brought to our people and hope that they are still willing to protect us despite any mistakes we have made. We hope that the Union..."

".. that the Union is able to do so with a minimum of... ... bloodshed and that peace ... will come... quickly... and we... we... we will do... whatever... ever we can.. to aid in this...

We..."
the Senator seemed to be unable to continue here, pausing a moment to gather her words.

"We give permission for... the use of our territories... in the endeavours the Union... decides is necessary to help us..."

It was clearly very emotional for the Senator, who decided to end her speech here, having covered the primary points.

"Thank you, senator Salixa, for the cooperation of the Silver Forests of Remunzia."

"With the motion of declaration of war passed, I have several announcements to make. We will reconvenve shortly with updates on the military situation."
