Senator Nehket Aeka waited until the hall quieted down, before speaking.

"Fellow senators,

As you all know, this planet, the planet Unity is the political heart of the Union. And though the view is breathtaking", Senator Nehket Aeka looked upwards, into the core of the galaxy, "the planet currently lacks any life outside of the city.

Efforts are underway to terraform Unity, and allow life to prosper outside of the city dome. Efforts such as the Nematode Unita project. However, these projects face serious difficulties. Not only do they face the harsh conditions on Unity, they also face the current barriers of technology.

The Veolian Commonwealth proposes that we make the terraformation of Unity an example of the power of cooperation between Union members. This will allow us to show other superpowers that we have the capability to undertake large projects in a singular and efficient fashion, and allow the member worlds to participate in a grand project that benefits us all.

I have already gained the support of the chancellor, the Sundarian Federation, the Unified Republic of Darya and the Praetorian Empire. To make this Green Unity a reality, my Emperor has pledged the use of our terraformation technologies and part of our terraformation module production capacity to this goal.

I ask you all to think about walking outside of the city dome, breathing the air, and enjoying the scenery we literally built together. Please join us in this common goal, and show the rest of the galaxy what the Union can do!"

" This project is indeed a good display of cooperation between our respected nations " Lady Peinaili de Montreve said, as she rose to address the senate. " It is therefore a great pleasure to announce that the Sundarian Government has unanimously decided to support this proposal, and to reserve part of our resources for this project. "

"What a noble and positive idea. The Divine Fiefdoms of Highmons, most wholeheartedly supports this effort. We too will pick up a share in this endeavour."

[Senator Salixa of the Silver Forests of Remunzia]

"Terraformation is a difficult and morally questionable topic about which there can be much debate. Though we support the idea of a collective endeavour, the Silver Forests of Remunzia cannot offer financial support for this."

"A collective effort to produce something is always to be encouraged. However, we must insist that this project not be just to make things look pretty, but that they have a practical application as well. What will be the practical advantages of this proposal?"

The Senator was surprisingly short for a change, which was something most senators were quite grateful for.

"We wholeheartedly support this idea. Does anything need to formally to be decided upon? If not, I shall have this registered as a brainstorming and idea sharing session rather than a debate. Are there any objections to this?"
