((OOC: This thread is held in a conference room on Unity and is private to the following factions: Veolian Commonwealth, Praetorian Empire, Unified Republic of Darya, Sundarian Federation, Socialist Republic of Niom, Miomanian Colonists, Lifebringer Clans, and The Embers of Aten.

However, it is not a secret meeting, and representatives of other factions can request to be allowed to join in. Their request will be voted on by a show of hands of the current attendants. I'll assume that your faction does not wish to bar anyone from joining unless you say so.))

"Welcome again,

I'm pleased to announce that our previous collaboration in the field of genetics has already led to further research projects being started. We have started a faction-wide enhancement of medical facilities with genome correctors.

As we agreed during the summit on inter-species procreation we are now reconvening to determine the next steps in our scientific collaboration. At this moment we have identified two fields of research that are of direct interest: genetic filtering and xeno-obstetrics. The field of recessive augmentation induction is also interesting, but does not have any practical application for non-hemet species as far as we know.

Before I will elaborate on the position of the Veolian Commonwealth I would like to hear the opinion of your respective factions on this."

"Dear Senators,

The Praetorian Empire is pleased to see so much progress at the Veolian Commonwealth. We already expected that most of this research would not affect the Praetorian race much.
Our opinion on the proposed researches:
genome correctors, would not affect the Praetorian population much since we already do this up to a certain level.
genetic filtering, is very expensive research that only affects certain races that are on the edge of expansion. We don't think this research is worth it.
xeno-obstetrics, The Praetorian race is pure and has not mixed with other races for many centuries. This is due to the fact that we are a race of reptiles with a very long hatching time. We are willing to look into this matter. We are open to combining our DNA with other races.
recessive augmentation induction, all Praetorians are born equal, this does not apply."

We will join in on the xeno-obstetrics research and propose more sharing of DNA.
Furthermore we propose to look into: Growth Acceleration, since the hatching time of Praetorian eggs can take up to 5 years."

" We thank the Veolian Senator for her kind invitation to this conference. "

Lady de Montreve said, acknowledging said Senator , as she stood to address the assembly of representatives present.

" The summit on Mirda proved the benefits of mutual cooperation and has provided a significant boost into our understanding of Genetics and its various applications to benefit our races. However i would like to speak a few word of caution, before I shall announce the Sundarian view on further research. "

Peinaili paused a moment, considering the words she was about to say and perhaps more importantly, the consequences they might have.

" While there are clear benefits to be gained from our joint research and the application of Genetic Theorems; some groups might find this progress more like a burden, a desecration of one's self. We have seen this on Mirda and further research in this area might prove for the groups of protesters to grow larger, as we, in their view, take over the role of creation. "

" That being said, the Sundarian Federation will provided her continued support into this area, first and foremost to gain new knowledge and insight into the inner workings of 'being'. While we have no objection to working in either field, we favor the field of Xeno-obstetrics. "

"We believe this conference was a great success, given the varied and interesting technological possibilities it has made available, each one is more interesting than the last.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, the Miomanian Colonists do not currently have resources available to pursuit these technologies in the short term, though we plan to revisit them at a later time. Regardless, as mentioned, we found the cooperation to be most successful and we would like to contribute and participate in similar efforts in the future."

"We regret that the Miomanian Colonists do not have the required funds at this moment. We look forward to other cooperative efforts.

On a more positive note, the Sundarian Federation and the Veolian Commonwealth have started a joint research effort into the xeno-obstetrics technology. Unfortunately our current situation demands that we make haste with our research, hence our quick investments in this technology. Should any of participant in the previous research wish to obtain the xeno-obstetrics, we are of course open to negotiation."
