Nehket Aeka - PC
"My fellow senators,
I commend chancellor Acehtoo on the fact that she has indeed created a more active and involved senate. The time has come to maintain this level of activity and build upon it to improve the situation, both politically, economically and culturally, of the Union for all her members. I put myself forwards as a candidate to make this happen, and present to you my plans for doing so.
I want to continue the discussion on sentient rights and find a way to make such a declaration work within the Union. On the specific issue of slavery, which seems to be the core focus of the proposal that is just a tiny bit hidden behind the declaration itself, as senator Salixa pointed out so pertly, I am willing to look for a compromise where slavery is abolished.
In the economic dimension I want to improve support within the senate for the construction of trade hubs along the bozzy spine. Not only will these trade hubs improve trading capacity, they will enable all Union members, regardless of their size of their economy to have any number of trade partners regardless of the number of trade fleets they maintain. It is my hope that this increase in trade relations will lead to an increase of cultural exchange. In this way, those cultures that are polar opposites of each other can, over time, grow to understand each other.
I will look for ways to protect the sovereignty of Union members not only in the geographic sense but in the cultural sense as well. No Union world should be forced to submit to the foreign culture of another through aggressive legislation. Instead, we should first seek understanding of the other culture and find common ground. And, as always I will strive to reduce bureaucratic redundancy and to improve transparency of governmental processes and interactions. I promise that I will act swiftly and decisively when small administrative errors in laws are discovered or when ambiguous laws are brought to my attention. I will not use these as a vehicle to propose impactful or far-fetched legislation, but will quickly analyse the problem and present a small and easily verifiable solution to the senate.
In short, if you want to continue the discussion on sentient rights and seek a compromise that involves the abolishment of slavery, if you want to see your world flourish by trading with more trade partners than currently possible, if you want to see your world protected from aggressive legislation and if you want clarity and transparency of governance:
I am the candidate that will do that."
- This message was delivered with the senators of the Divine Fiefdom of Highmons and the Teprogrenaian Consensus standing to the left and right of the candidate, both immediately voicing their second for the candidacy.
