Senator Nehket Aeka of the Veolian Commonwealth takes up a position at the speaking dais, quickly followed by senator Senator Acehtoo of the Miomanian Colonists and senator Lonco Morubixaba of Skuldda.

"Fellow Senators,

Thanks to the our memberships of the Union, each and every member has experienced a surge in economic growth. The recent recession was but a speedbump for some, and a hurdle for others. Even though it has not fully subsided on every world, it is time to turn our attention to the future.

We are nearing a critical point in the development of the Union: we can either accept the reduction of economic growth, or we can find ways to cooperate and to improve the wellfare of our citizens to unseen heights.

I am happy to announce the first G-22 Galactic Economy summit. The summit is intended for faction representatives of the highest level and world-reknowned economists to discuss and gain insight into the Union's economy. It is our hope that, through the sharing of economic insights and long-term projections, together we can improve the economy of the Union.

The summit itself will consist of three paralel tracks, each followed by a panel discussion. The program will be shaped in such a way as to allow representatives from all Union worlds to be present at all keynote talks.

The summit will be held on Mirda, the home world of the Veolians and Twi'lek refugees, and will begin the 5th of April. We wish to invite every member of the Union to send a delegation to discuss the implications and difficulties of the subject. Please have your aide send a list of attending delegation members to the Veolian embassy on Unity so we can arrange for the necessary accommodations.

We look forward to your participation.

Thank you."

A short programme was automatically distributed to the senators in the senate hall: [ Announcement ] To Union Members: G-22 Galactic Economy Summit.

  • Veolian Commonwealth
  • Teprogrenaian Consensus
  • Praetorian Empire
  • Sundarian Federation

A few minutes after the short note by the chancellor, a well-dressed man holding a golden holoprojector rose from his seat at the delegation of the New Communist Imperium of the Rising Suns of Deominius.

"Is this on?", the projected head of imperial prince Odakim V spoke. The head looked aside for a moment, and then directed its attention towards the senate.

"We shall send a delegation consisting of twelve advisors to this summit. We expect to hear a great many things, including why the market for capital ships is shrinking all of a sudden."
