"Unfortunately the Union is at war. The current budget for the Union Defence Fleets is not sufficient for a active war with the Mandalorians. At the current expense rate of 1710 (:tax) / (:turn) the War Fund and contingency budget of the Ministry of Defence will be depleted within 5 (:turns).

Unfortunately the Mandalorians have already deployed reinforcements which will result in extra costs for the Union. To avoid being destroyed by the Mandalorians in the war more (:tax) will be required. Without this additional funding the Union Defence Fleets will soon be unable to defend us. Therefor we now vote where this (:tax) will come from."

Option one
every tax paying Union world pays 100 (:tax) war tax for the duration of the war with the Mandalorians.

Option two
the hyperspace lane upkeep subsidy is lowered from 200 (:tax) to 100 (:tax)."

“The following member worlds may vote:

  • Unified Empire of Azaryan Colonies
  • Astrian Colonial Authority
  • Confederacy of Excaria
  • Federal Republic of Bisidn
  • Free Peoples of Wrarrbo
  • High Chiefdom of Skuldda
  • Hiocan Society
  • Holy Heimgolian Theocracy
  • Interregnum Democracy of Scir
  • IO Protocol
  • Kingdom of Komès
  • Kingdom of Meritonia
  • Liberal Assencia
  • Miomanian Colonists
  • New Communist Imperium of the Rising Suns of Deominius
  • Principality of Suma
  • Silver Forests of Remunzia
  • Socialist Republic of Niom

Voting closes on Wednesday 23 October.”

"Both options lead to paying 100 (:tax) extra, but option 1 is temporary and 2 is structurally. This amount of tax should not be taking carelessly. Especially for starting economies this is a large amount. So the Hiocian Society votes option 1."

"The Sundarian Federation votes for option 1. We will further more refrain from drawing from the Warfund, and will pay the full upkeep of our scanning fleets ourselves starting the next turn (125)."

The Meritonian Senator voted via holonet, as he was busy monitoring the Komès-Meritonian warefforts.

A servant held aloft a golden holoprojector: "We find the proposed options repulsive. We vote option 1, the least repulsive of the two.", the head of Imperial Prince Odakim V clearly showed disgust.

"This is ridiculus. This proposal is thrown on our plate even without considering asking the senate what they think of it and what other options we have. And I thought we were living in a democracy here!

I abstain."

"I agree with senator Morubixaba on this matter, there has been no room for discussion in the senate for this. Potential alternative solutions have thus not been given proper consideration.

However this still is a problem that must be solved, even if it is in a possibly inefficient manner. The ACA votes option 1."

"We have to collaborate to defend against the thread of the Mandalorian fleet and the load should be share. As we do not think it is wise to increase the tax burden too much. Their should be still opportunities for each faction to grow and become stronger. The principality of Suma votes option 1."
