"Negotiations with the mandalorians have failed and the time for peaceful expansion has come to an end.
In the next period we will have to defend the Union from the invading Mandalorian Fleets and under my leadership we will leave no members behind. Together we are stronger than the Mandalorians!

We will continue the negotiations with the Echani to see what kind of allies they want to be.

To win the war my cabinet will pay for half the upkeep of member fleets that actively help in the Mandalorian conflict. We will be looking into meaningful options to increase the Union defence forces other than simply more fleets. Furthermore we will be looking into laws that enable Union members to provide military support to other members without the current bureaucratic red tape.

"How do you intend to fund this upkeep?"

"They have shared some technology in the past as a token of goodwill but we will have to see what they will do now the war has started. If they are true to their word and engage the Mandalorians when the fight has started it could be the start of a new alliance.

A combat-ready fleet that actively engages or joins combat with the Mandalorian fleets would be the best possible help, since the Mandalorians need to be stopped. The minister of defence could decide at some point in time that patrolling duties in high risk area's also fall under this subsidy.

I primarily intend to fund this upkeep from the contingency budgets."

"By actively engaging the Mandalorians we make sure they stay away from our trade routes. This will ensure that our trade can continue.

Furthermore the war will create economical opportunities as well. For example, when the Union Defence Fleets will be damaged they will have to be repaired as well."
