"In the past two electoral periods, the Union has made new defensive developments. I do not believe in aggressive military expansion, but I do see the need for a proper defence force. As strength can be found in numbers, we will continue to push for the growth of the Union and when we are re-elected, we will work on expanding the number of member worlds, providing greater resources to our smaller members and make the Union a fantastic whole greater than the sum of its ever more numerous parts!

Additionally, it is my intention to open negotiations with the Core Hegemony to create new trade opportunities and between our respective groups and stimulate the economy and increase internal trade.

If you are concerned with the economy, please vote Acehtoo for Chancellor. I've done it before - I can do it again!

- The message was delivered with the Senators for Highmons and Heimgol standing to the left and right of the Chancellor, both immediately voicing their seconds for the candidacy.

((OOC: If you wish to discuss the expansionist and economic strategy of the Miomanian Colonists, the details of their plans for Minor worlds or ask clarifications and positions on various issues, this is where to do it :)))

"Senator Acehtoo,

Could you elaborate on your plans for the smaller members? How do you plan to provide greater resources, and where will you get the budget to do so?"

"We plan to negotiate with the Core Hegemony to make collective trade deal as has happened in the past, but on a larger scale. Smaller economies will be able to benefit from greater access to resources and the resulting lower prices to temporarily boost their economy.

We also plan to use parts of the ministerial budgets to provide small, temporary subsidies to member worlds to provide additional incentives for them to cooperate in the galactic economy, but which will primarily benefit smaller member worlds.

As an example which may not be implemented as proposed - we may offer some partial funding to produce a new zone for member worlds, with a larger share for member worlds with few zones, or we may temporarily offer additional starting funds for new members. The exact details of this are yet to be determined and will depend partially upon the wishes of the Union members."

"Your plans for smaller economies are clear, but the Union also exist of economies with more money to spend. How do you plan to keep the large economies satisfied?

By providing small economies large benefits, how do you prevent them to use these benefits for a quick economical boost after which they leave the Union again? It is also likely that newcomers in the Union will see the subsidies as an excellent way to build more for their own, resulting in an attempt to do everything themselves instead of build relationships with other members and cooperate. Do you have any plans how to protect the small economies against a faster growth than they can handle?"

"My activities are primarily aimed towards aiding the smaller economies without raising costs for the larger ones. It is my belief there are various methods to provide aid for starting economies without disadvantaging larger ones.

As of yet, very few worlds have left the Union. If this becomes a problem, new legislation regarding membership requirements or longer spread out aid periods may be advantageous but at this time we do not believe it to be a problem.

As for encouraging cooperation, I believe communication is the key here and I will continue my diplomatic efforts in aiding new members.

Does this answer your concerns, Senator?"

"Where will you get the necessary budget to aid smaller economis, if you do not wish to raise costs for the larger ones?

You say that you belief there are various methods to provide aid for starting worlds. Would you care to name a few of those methods?"

"We will use ministry money for this purpose and we will look into other sources of revenue if they are available.

For aiding starting worlds, we are considering aiding them with a technology fund, giving them cheaper access to certain basic, yet key technologies."
