For the upcoming mission i should check my equipment, my question is how does it work with things like a Med Kit?. I have First Aid 3 but when i am in the field i probably still need some stuff to help somebody (bandages and painkillers). The problem is that if you need a kit for every skill use your equipment list is gonna get long... How do we handle this? What are the rules for this? The idea was to keep equipment simple, i am just not sure how this is implemented.

You can use First Aid without a First Aid Kit (making makeshift bandages for example, or diagnosing a patient). You can also abstract by saying "First Aid Kit" which has all the regular First Aid Kit stuff (bandages, band-aids, cotton swabs, etc) or a Med Kit or whatever. I don't want to keep track of uses, but if you use an item with limited supplies a lot, I might tell you its running out or that you are out completely. Usually this won't be too much of an issue.

Ok, i think this clears up some part. But this still might mean that for every skill you might need some tools. This could result in a long equipment list.

Not really... right?

Sure you can. Why wouldn't you be able to use strips of clothing as a temporary bandage or establish that someone was having a heart attack rather than just being drunk using First Aid?
This isn't a computer game where you are limited to using the skill only with the appropriate item and only within the predefined parameters, you can be as creative as you want.

I completely agree with you there.
I meant that quote in reply to Chriz':

But I might have quoted that better.... after rereading it it seems to be less to the point than I wanted to be
