Suppose I want to move 100 
from A to C. Can I move it from A to B using the holonet, and then move it from B to C using a trade fleet?

Short answer: no.
Long answer: This is possible only if there is a player at B. In that case the A-B holonet trade is a trade between the player at A and the player at B and the B-C fleet trade is a trade from player B to player C.
The issue lies with loading the goods from the holonet to the trade fleet (or vice versa) - that's not as simple as it seems, especially in the proposed quantities.
