"Senator Ardios Eldrilith,

I wish to thank you for the offer of housing a part of the refugees.

From your reluctance to offer concrete numbers with regard to the available housing and funds, I have gathered that your offer was made mainly to show your support for our cause. To prevent any embarrasment on your end, I have directed the flow of refugees squarely towards the Smi-Halek system. As other factions have publicly announced their support for our housing of the refugees, I'm reasonably sure that no one will think more of this.

It is good to see such solidarity among friends, and it gladdens me that you have supported our cause in public. We shall not forget this.

With regards,

Senator Nehket Aeka"

"Dear senator Nehket Aeka

You must have misunderstood our intentions. Our offer is very real. As i already noted we have a lot of free space available.
Due to the fact that there are no numbers available on how many refugees there actually are we did not give any numbers yet, but if you insist:
Financially we should be able to support 3.0 (:pop) billion population on a short notice.
This includes the construction of extra infrastructure and the emergency supplies that need to be provided.
With external funding the amount of refugees that we can house can be increased to 7.0 (:pop) when necessary.

We do support your cause and we intend to share the burden.

Greetings,
Senator Ardios Eldrilith"

"Senator Ardios Eldrilith,

I must admit that I might have jumped to a conclusion. But if you did have concrete numbers, why did you not say so in the first place? It seems to me that the amount of refugees does not influence the available housing and infrastructure on your part.

Regardless, I am happy to see that the Praetorian Empire wishes to aid these people. Though I must say that I'm still somewhat in the dark as to the non-housing contribution the Praetorian Empire is willing to make. The current political climate does not offer much leeway to arrange for Union funds to offer 'external funding' as you so eloquently put it.

Still, if you see this as a burden, it might be better to let us cope with the flow of refugees. We are more than willing to do so, and see this as a great opportunity for growth and sentienatarian aid instead of a burden to carry.

With kind regards,

Senator Nehket Aeka"

((OOC: I haven't got a clue how Mercury wants to do this, so I propose we wait for his take on the refugee flow before trying to bid each other out of some population ^_^))
