As you may have seen on the senate, I plan on improving the position of Core Worlds within the Union. They are the worlds willing to step forward and take the risks of leading the Union. As you have experienced yourself, actually leading the Union is a thankless job. Most of the senate turns against you when unpopular decisions need to be made, and few recognize the relevance of your effort.
I plan on changing that. I proposed that Core Worlds retain their vote as their senators take up office. I will soon open a vote on this matter. After this vote has passed, I plan on introducing further improvements to the position of the ministers and the chancellor. Among those is a reduced tax rate for Core Worlds. The Core Worlds take a risk in taking up office, since their reputation will be tarnished even by claims of unfair trade deals -- even if they acted honestly and without bias. I feel that their increased responsibilities should come with some form of compensation. My first proposal for this will be tax reductions for Core Worlds.
I am confident that not all these reforms will be passed in the current term. So, I will run for office in the next elections. I already have the support of the Astai Republic as a running mate. Further, I hope to gather the support of the Astrian Colonial Authority or the Sundarian Federation as second running mate. That leaves one open ministry on my next cabinet.
