[ Holonet ] To Chancellor Acehtoo: Galactic Survey and Colonization

" Milady, " said Thomas Pendra as soon as the Lady de Montreve returned to her office " I have the papers you requested right here, and I to remind you that you are expected back in the Senate by 1600 hours. "
" Thank you, Thomas, " Lady Peinaili responded " If I'm not out by 1530 have one of the aides come in and get me. "
" Ofcourse Milady, " Thomas Pendra said as he withdrew from Lady de Montreve's office, so that she could work in private.
She reread the papers she had requested and considered for a few moments what she would say before she requested a conversation per Holonet with Chancellor Acehtoo. As she waited for the necessary connections and security measures to completed, she enjoyed some refreshments, which she set aside once the preparations where complete.
" Good day to you Chancellor, I hope that this a good time for a short conversation. "
Lady Peinaili started out, not wishing to cause the Chancellor any inconvenience due to the timing of this transmission.
" The reason for this transmission concerns a part of your election program, specifically the promised aid in founding new Colonies, should Union Members choose to do so. As we understand it, Colonization is a time consuming and costly endeavor, and it's not always such a success as hoped beforehand.
To this end I would like to inquire as to the current processes and technologies available to Union Members in order to facilitate the finding and colonization of a suitable planet in a new system. With this information I believe that our combined Scientific efforts, as shown by the result of the Mirda Genetics Summit, may just provide us a new view and possibility new technologies in the fields of Colonization and Galactic Survey and Scanning Techniques.
Would it be possible to gain access to this information so that we may better prepare ourselves in order to organise yet another successful summit, and secondly are the Miomian Colonists willing to join us in this effort once again ?

"Of course Lady Peinaili, I always have time for you." the Chancellor stated positively.
"Unfortunetely as Senator for my people, I must inform you that the Mioman budget for new technologies is lower than I would like, and though we will gladly participate in a summit, we do not have the funds to participate in the development of new technologies at this time. As Chancellor, however, I can inform you that the Union does have a budget for such matters and may be able to provide subsidies on any collaborative research.
May I also suggest you speak to Senator Bolv'ar of Excaria? His system has already established several small colonies and they may be better able to help you with technological developments and the state of current technology." she suggested
