The upcoming elections are rapidly approaching. As you are well aware I am Senator Acehtoo's running mate and as her running mate I'm attempting to gather support for her. Senator Acehtoo has proven herself to be very capable as chancellor in the past. I would like to know if she can count on the Confederacy of Excaria's support.

Voting for her would be a wise decision and would likely benefit your world much more than voting for the Veolian Commonwealth.

You seem to have managed to get Senator Acehtoo to accept you as a seconding party, which is admirable. I am interested in voting for her, but I need something beyond just the influence you are offering to consider this.

Excaria has long voiced its concern with the state of Union defence, and this is something which I feel needs to be addressed. As a victim of the Mandalorians, I am sure you agree.

Should she be elected, you will be a minister in the cabinet, no doubt, having seconded Senator Acehtoo. As a minister, you will have the ability to propose a vote, as per the Union Voting Laws, section 1, article 1.

In exchange for our vote ((OOC: besides the 20 you are offering)), we want you to propose a vote to improve the Unions military, or the militaries of its individual members. You may do so yourself or leave that task to a different minister or the senator, so long as a vote of that nature is opened during the electoral period. It does not need to be a big vote, but it should at the very least include 100 worth of funds being assigned to the armed forces.

We don't think that amount is enough for the military, but it should allow us to gauge the current positions of different worlds regarding this beyond mere political talk - we believe the situation may have changed as a result of the Mandalorian war so it is important the waters are tested. We will leave the details up to you.

Dear Senator Standro,

You are absolutely right that security and safety are important even now the Mandalorian threat has diminished. As such, I have no problem to propose a law that improves the Union's military or the militaries of its members. If Senator Acehtoo is elected as chancellor, I will do so.
