When the STF took out a loan from the Veolian Commonwealth, we made the deal to pay the loan back in full in 86.

However I find myself in the embarrassing position to ask you if it would be possible to instead pay back the loan in 87.

As a show of good will we would like to offer a 5% interest to the Veolians resulting in a total payment of 525 the STF will pay in 87.

Dear Lady-Senator Maria Latharion,

This is unfortunate news indeed. The Veolian Commonwealth had already allocated the taxes to improve infrastructure and fund several large projects to improve general living conditions and housing projects on Mirda. And while a delay of a single turn might not seem significant, the delay will cascade into the next steps of the project.

Normally, we would take such a breach of contract very serious. You understand of course that, though much appreciated, a token of 25 can not make up for lost time.

However, I might be able to effect a work-around and cover the deficit from the coffers of House Nehket, effectively buying your debt. That way, your world is indebted to House Nehket and your world is not in breach of contract, as the debt to the Veolian Commonwealth has been repaid on time. You can then repay the 500 to House Nehket, either in 87 or some other moment that we can agree upon later.

Of course, I would expect you to do me a similar favour at some point in the future?

Thank you for the considerable effort you have made to do the STF this favour.

I would like to assure you the Stellarian Triad Federation does not make a habit of things like this.

An oversight was made and agreements where made based on that. The responsible parties have been adequately reprimanded.

Rest assured that 525 will be paid to the House Nehket in 87 and that should you ever need assistance from the STF we will provide it to the best of our ability.

Though your token of good will is very generous, I assure you that it is unnecessary. As your world's debt is now owed to House Nehket, there is no reason to pay more than 500 . In fact, as I already said, there is no hurry in repaying even that amount.
