Search before you create

I just observed an industrious person create pages for
,
,
and
. However, these pages already existed, under a different name (i.e. 'rules:gas-mass' instead of 'rules:gas_mass').
I'm not sure whether the other editor was aware of the existence of the other pages (I removed them cause the new ones are better in both name and content), but I strongly urge anyone that is creating a page on the wiki to do a quick search and see if a page on the topic already exists, or if some other page contains a large chunk of moveable content.
Thank you.
