Write-a-thon VII: The FWURG Awakens (Saturday 14 March)
With the previous write-a-thon almost a year ago, I think it is time to start organizing another one!
For those not yet familiar with a 'write-a-thon', the idea is that we meet up in real life, and discuss FWURG-related things. This usually goes on from late in the morning till somewhere early in the afternoon -- but everyone is welcome to arrive later, or leave earlier ^_^
Of course, I already have a short list of ideas and things that we can do/discuss:
Right now, I am spending a lot of my FWURG thinking time on two themes of 'accesible politics' and 'game stages' in mind, so the ideas I start with here are in that area. Do not feel limited to these themes, feel free to post your own ideas and topics!
Mercury has offered to provide the venue, and I will provide food and beverages for all attendees!

Of course, I already have a short list of ideas and things that we can do/discuss:
- Me and Mercury think we have a way of making politics more lively: short Debates -- the cool 'one side wins' kind, not the boring 'debating takes forever' kind.
- Make it easier to spend
in votes through an OOC vote auction -- this will remove the barrier of contacting each NPC separately, making it easier and quicker to vote and open votes. - Late game developments... "Again?" you think, but this really is a topic that needs more discussion -- right now we only have settlements as the late-game choice. I think we need to revisit the point and see if we should change how we view the 'late game'? (Also, because Late Game Goals was really very empty of opinions.)
- Hybrid game developments: the companion of late game developments'. Not all worlds are at the late game stage, I think it is good to evaluate how the interaction between non-late game worlds and late game worlds is experienced.
- (Re)moval of the Nerivadus Empire
- Re(design|placement) of NCC and Prefab (ties in with Late Game maybe?)

And then, the list of possible dates.
You know the drill: copy the list from the post above you, and remove all dates that you can't make it. (Feel free to add topics in the same post ^_^)

Added note: The Write-a-thon would also be an excellent opportunity to introduce new players to various aspects of the game. That should be read as an invitation to those who have interested friends to bring them along ^_^

During eastern does not seem to be a good time. This are time I probable can come, but not sure yet.
None of these dates are during easter, cause easter is the 5th ~_~
Day before eastern is in my opinion also not so good, as I already will go to my family.
- Force user power bar indication
- Fixing the tools (mainly a todo item for Brend & Mercury)
- "Teleporting" construction goods (this one and the next one to be processed into single proposal by task force)
- Rules vagueness: Special Projects and Completion Limit
- Saturday 14 March
- Saturday 11 April
We should lock in the final date. I think 14 March is a good date since we have waited long enough for the Fwurg write-a-thon.

I agree. I will try to reach Dragonmaster352 this weekend; if he hasn't posted a preference on Sundary 18:00, we'll lock on Saturday 14 March.

- Discuss
expenditure together with allies (Example: If you and your ally want to buy a vote from an NPC at 10
, each ally wants to pay 5
, instead of one of them paying 10
.)
-
spending should be much simpler and easier
what I noticed was that two players actually offered NPC's
to buy their votes in the previous elections which was a good thing. However the NPC's responded with: We are willing to accept your
IF you do this thing for me as well. For me this was the reason that I believe these offers failed and nobody tried to spend
since...
The problem is that the
is an abstracted resource that is hard to earn but should be easy to spend. When an NPC is willing to accept the
and still negotiates for something extra the
will not be easy to spend and it works against the concept.

What time do we start?
Are we going to meet some place and cycle together to Mercury?
Who brings what electronical devices along?
I propose for those who go by bike to gather at Feder and my place, as it is nice central.
I will bring my laptop, a 20m internet cable and a power outlet with 3 slots.

Traditionally we start around 11:00-ish. This time, Mercury proposes to start at 11:30.
We live in the future! This also means that there is wifi internet now ^_^

Sorry, guys, I have already planned something else. Good luck.
