Several sectors in the Union hosted large and extended fleet battles, and now have become locations where ship wrecks can be mined for metals.

Sector 7 -4 has a total of 2500 (:metals) which the Astrian Colonial Authority can harvest. They can harvest any amount they choose per turn at no cost, but once 2500 (:metals) has been harvested, the resource is depleted... FOREVER!

Sector 7 -5 has a total of 2500 (:metals) which any Union member can harvest. To harvest this, a trade fleet must be assigned to move the metals from sector 7 -5 to their homeworld, with enough capacity to carry the amount the harvesting faction wishes to bring to their homeworld. Once it has been depleted, the resource is gone... FOREVER! There is no other cost beyond assigning the trade fleet. There is no restriction on who can harvest these resources, but Union members may wish to discuss the topic before grabbing it, lets they might anger someone.

Sector 7 -6 has a total of 2500 (:metals) which the Hiocan Society can harvest. They can harvest any amount they choose per turn at no cost, but once 2500 (:metals) has been harvested, the resource is depleted... FOREVER!

As a special condition, the wreckage is being irradiated from space and drifting apart, which would decrease the economic viability of harvesting the resource. After turn 160, it is no longer economically viable to recover these resources and as a result, whatever is left of the metals available will disappear at that time, bringing an end to this economic event... FOREVER!

How much can be harvested per turn and how do you harvest these resources?

Any amount you want in your own sector, and as much as your assigned trade fleet(s) can carry in Sector 7 -5.

Declare you harvest them and add it as an incoming trade on your bookkeeping page. Be sure to note you are harvesting and how much on your turn report for generic bookkeeping purposes.

I really need a bigger economy to do cool stuff (like building a lot of construction facilities).
I would like to coordinate stuff in my sector. Will make senate post later.

Just a heads up. The (:metals) from this event are no longer available:

Since Mercury isn't saying anything (he doesn't really have too here though), I hereby officially close this event!

Since this event generated some nice RP, if someone makes a story page and links the related roleplay threads, there will be (:ip)! (So I've opened this thread again ^_^)

I think some other involved player should at least review the text; there are some things that I found a little strange, but since I'll be handing out the rewards, I don't want to involve myself with writing the report.

I have added the (:ip) reward to the story based on the Influence Points rules for "Actively participate in senate discussions that are part of a storyline" -> +2 (:ip) for participants.

Thanks for making the report!
