Danar Torig came together with Senator Danar Tassar at the Sundarian embassy to discuss the opportunities of an information corporation. As Thomas J.G. Pendra had invited them in the mail. At the reception they announced that they were invited here to speak with Thomas J.G. Pendra in private.

Shortly after the arrival of the Teprogrenaian delegation Thomas Pendra went down to the lobby to welcome them in person. As they waited, the delegation was seated in a holding area in the grand hall of the Victorian Style manor house in which the Sundarian Embassy was housed. This foyer was perhaps the most impressive room in the entire Embassy, if one would judge it purely by decoration, in the centre stood a large round fountain which was enclosed by a double winged staircase, winding up to the higher floors all the way to the domed roof with large skylight. Strategically placed in niches or on the wall, where sculptures or paintings of characters that (had) played a role of importance in the history of the Sundarian people.

"Ah, welcome Senator, Representative," Thomas said after he had come down to the lobby to greet and welcome his guests, "It is my pleasure to welcome you here, to our home away from home. I trust your journey here was well enough and there were no problems."

[Maria Latharion]

Maria entered the Sundarian Embassy. She looked around for a moment and then walked to the others.

"Good day, gentlemen." She said, giving a polite bow. "I am Lady-Senator Maria Latharion, and will represent the Stellarian Triad Federation in these negotiations."

((OOC: I am not exactly sure that this is the correct thread for the group negotiations, as the Sundarian's promised to have both group and one-on-one negotiations. As this could be explained both ways, I'll just pretend this is the group negotiation thread.))

Senator Nehket Aeka entered the Sundarian embassy, followed swiftly by two aides. Both aides are veolian women wearing the finery of nobility.

The veolian senator bowed to senator Maria and senator Tassar. She seemed to ignore mister Pendra.

"Lady-senator Latharion, senator Tassar, it is a pleasure to see you both. Are you here for negotiations with the Sundarians?"

((OOC: I believe that the original intention for this thread was a private negotiation, but no problem i'll open a private one for each faction so that we can keep this one for the group negotiations.))

As both Lady-Senator Latharion and Senator Nehket Akea with her aides arrived shortly after the Teprogrenaian delegation Thomas send an aide up to inform Lady de Montrève that the delegations had arrived a little earlier then scheduled.

"Senators, welcome," He said as greeted them with his customary bow, "Milady de Montrève will be down shortly"

Once she arrived they would all go down the hall in to the main conference room that had been prepared for the negotiations. Until that time Thomas waited, and left the Senators to talk amongst themselves.

"Very well." Maria said. Turning to Senator Nehket, she replied.

"Good to see you again too, Senator." She bowed to the Veolian woman. "Yes, as a matter of fact I believe we are."

((OOC: Sorry, this was my bad. I was a bit over eager, but there also wasn't an OOC message saying that this thread was private to the Teprogrenaian Consensus and the Sundarian Federation.))

"Senator Nehket Aeka, Lady-senator Latharion, the it is good to see you as well. Yes we are here to discuss the possibilities of a information corporation." And he made a small bow towards the other senators as well.

((OOC: Sorry, my mistake as well, I forgot to add the ooc list that this was indeed intended for only the Consensus and the Sundarians.))

"Good day, I believe we have not yet met. I am Danar Torig, Headmaster Teprogrenaian Intergalactic Economy. We of the Consensus have assessed that an information would be the most optimal way to increase our economy given the current and predicted near future." He made a small bow as well.

[Nehket Aeka]

Senator Nehket Aeka looked at Danar Torig for a moment, seemingly trying to judge him. 'An information would be', she silently repeats in her head, 'why can't they just send a woman to do a woman's job...', she thought. Her expression clouded over a little as she thought.

Forcing herself to smile, she replied: "Let us hope that the third time's the charm. In my experience, negotiations involving information transport and production quickly break down. But, this time at least three quarter of the parties is represented by a woman, surely this will have a positive influence on the negotiations. Wouldn't you agree, lady-senator Latharion?"

[Maria Latharion]

Maria wasn't really bothered by Danar Torig's apparent lack of Basic Galactic. She did find it a bit strange for a representative not to have mastered this. Then again she used translation software.

Senator Nehket's comment however was a bit more troublesome. She could understand it from a veolian's point of view, but couldn't fully agree with it.

"Perhaps, Senator Nehket. I wasn't there, so I can't say if that is where the problem lies."

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"A bold statement Lady Nehket," Peinaili said as she came down the large double-winged staircase, followed by a young lady wearing an outfit bearing the distinctive markings and finery of Sundarian nobility, "and I hope that what your suggesting isn't true.

Senator Tassar, Represenative Torig," She said she greeted her guests in person, "Welcome, it is good of you to join us and I hope that this meeting may indeed bare fruits of co-operation.

Lady-Senator Latharion, it is a pleasure to meet you and I am glad that the Stellarion Traid Federation has expressed an interested to join us.

Senator Nehket," she said as she greeted the Veolian senator last, "welcome once more, let us hope that this time our efforts are not waisted and an accord can be reached.

Before we continue," Peinaili said to all as she introduced the young lady at her side, "I would first like to introduce Lady Alexandra, Marchioness de Koniova. She and Mister Pendra, whom you have already met, will assist me in the negotiations, and they will also conduct any negotiations in private, should they be needed or requested, on my behalf."

[Alexandra Koniova]

" Senators, representative, " Lady Alexandra said after a formal 'bow abeyante' as was the Sundarian custom, " It is an honour to make your acquaintance. I hope that this meeting results in a success and that Mister Pendra and myself an contribute to these negotiations in a positive and constructive manner. If there are any question, please do ask them."

[Nehket Aeka]

Senator Nehket Aeka bowed to the introduced marchioness. "Marchioness de Koniova, you look stunning today", she complimented, as she distinctly remembers seeing the marchioness' name on a memo from the imperial household.

Shifting her attention towards the sundarian senator, she continued: "I am sure that this time, with two new partners at the table, we will be able to reach a profitable outcome, lady de Montrève."

[Senator Danar Tassar]

Danar Torig clearly took offence of what Nehket Aeka said, but one look of Tassar made sure that he would keep his mouth shut.

"Senator Lady Peinaili de Montrève, Lady Alexandra, Marchioness de Koniova," Tassar and Torig both greeted, making a small bow.

Then Tassar said: "I assure the Consensus will do the best we can to achieve a profitable outcome."

[Maria Latharion]

Maria made a curt bow to the Sundarian senator and reprisentative.

"A pleasure to meet you milady."

She looked at the others.

"Shall we begin?"

[Senator Danar Tassar]

"Forgive my rudeness, but yes, lets start.

We believe an exchange of zones will be the safest way of producing specialised , to prevent issues with transport and ensure a steady flow.

For this option, Dhiahamara has 3 zones available at this moment, and a forth zone is working on, if this would be necessary." Tassar looked a quick second at Torig, who nodded in agreement, "however there is the issue of the costs of setting the whole organisation up. The Teprogrenaian Consensus has limited funds available. Although this is of course solvable with time."

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"Senators please," Peinaili interjected as she reminded them of where they were currently standing, "While I commend your eagerness, surely you would agree that this is not the place to discuss such arrangements. If you would be so kind kind as to follow me, we have prepared a conference room so that we may talk freely and in private, it lies just through here."

That said Senator de Montrève and her aides Lady de Koniova and Mister Pendra lead them to a conference room, just up ahead in the hallway, which had been especially prepared for these negotiations.

"Before we can start I think it best that we first establish our separate goals, and thus have a clear image of what each party is willing of offer or is hoping to gain during this negotiation." Peinaili started off once everyone was settled and had been offered some refreshments.

"I understand that the Teprogrenaian Consensus, as Senator Danar Tasser mentioned just now, prefers an exchange of corporate zone rights, pertaining a corporation of either 3 or 4 zones, depending on needs.

The Sundarian Federation, being the only partner with an HQ already constructed, would also prefer an exchange of corporate rights and we currently have 5 zones available, with a 6th currently under construction. Not all of these zone need to be corporated however.

Senator Nehket, Senator Latharion, could you please elaborate on the current standings and goals set out by your respective factions?"

[Nehket Aeka]

Senator Nehket Aeka sat down, her aides sitting down to the left and right of her.

"Thank you lady de Montrève", she started, "I shall elaborate on the interests of the Veolian Commonwealth.

In the previous two negotiations, the commonwealth offered transportation services, as the Socialist Republic of Niom insisted on an exchange of produced goods. Next to our interest in the transportation of information-based goods, the Veolian Commonwealth is looking to establish an information corporation. However, my economic advisor has informed me that such a corporation would cost upward of 6000 , an amount not lightly invested."

"To be honest, I had hoped that Niom would once again join these negotiations. Though their absence makes it easier to deliberate on other methods of collaboration, they do represent a large influence on the Information market. They have had a great impact on previous arrangements.

I have a proposal: if we wish this collaboration to get a commanding grip on the information market, it might be wise to bring Niom to the table as a fifth partner. With all five parties in agreement, we could set up a Union-wide cartel for the creation and distribution of information and information-based goods. Ensuring our that our investment will be protected against meddling in the future, and offering us greater political weight."

[Maria Latharion]

"Senator de Montreve." Maria started as she sat down.

"The goals of the Stellarian Triad Federation are simple in this matter. To ensure the production of information in the STF is able to meet the demand.

Plans are already being made to make Serina, our main information production world, a suitable location for this."

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"Thank you all Senators," Peinaili continued, "For clarifying the positions and intentions of your factions concern this collaboration. While i'm sure that there are specific wishes to work out, I suggest that we first discuss the interesting option brought up by Lady Nehket.

Firstly senator, I would have no objection to invite the Socialist Republic of Niom to our table once more. I still believe that they are a party of influence and dispite of our cartel intentions, it might be wise to involve them in this arrangement.

Secondly that idea of such cartel strikes me as an intriguing option, as I suspect it will enable us to more efficiently produce specialized information, and pull our respective resources to fund the needed improvements in infrastructure and corporate real-estate.

Senators Danar and Latharion, how do you feel about these suggestions by Senator Nehket?"

Peinaili asked as she had given her option about the cartel proposal.

[Nehket Aeka]

"Excuse me, lady de Montrève, but it seems you have not allowed time for senator Danar Tassar of the Teprogrenaian Consensus to elaborate on the current standings and goals set out by his faction."

Senator Nehket Aeka looked at Tassar while she continued.

"While very eager, we only know that the Teprogrenaian Consensus wishes to exchange zones, and that they do not have the requisite funds to start a corporation... It seems we need to know their larger stake in this collaboration before we can continue."

She looked at senator Tassar expectantly.

[Lady Peinaili de Montrève]

"You are quite right Lady Nehket," Peinaili replied "and I do apologize. Senator Danar Tassar, perhaps you could indeed elaborate on the 'larger stake for the Consensus' as Lady Nehket has so elegantly put it?"

[Danar Torig]

Not Tassar, but Torig answered on that question: "Given the current economical situation within the Union, this is a logical choice to invest in. The galactic economy of the Consensus is still young and flexible, and at the same time there is a shortage on information. For the growth of our economy does it matter little what path we take. Although going into the information market was not our planned course of action when we joined the Union, it is a needed one. Truthfully it is not the theoretically most optimal course to take for maximum income, but the Union has given us much, the least we can do is using that generosity to give something back. Besides, we believe the political ties that will bring us will be more beneficial than a theoretically optimized economy."

[Nehket Aeka]

"Thank you, representative Torig.", the veolian senator replied. "I am most interested in your faction's", she turned her attention toward lady-senator Maria Latharion, "and the Stellarian Triad Federation's opinion on forming a cartel."

[Maria Latharion]

"Unfortunately the STF policies on cartels are rather specific."

Maria spoke cautiously and weighed each word carefully.

"The few cartels within the STF are extremely closely monitored and regulated by our government. So much so in fact, that private companies don't use it at all.

On an interstellar scale this would be impossible. The STF is bound by it's own laws on this matter I'm afraid."
