Kamuka Yatana arrives at the Praetorian Embassy ten minutes before her appointment. On her way in she wonders about the necessity of a large statue of what she can only assume is the Praetorian Emperor on the roof of the embassy.

Arriving at the reception, she started: "Hello. I'm Kamuka Yatana, and I have an appointment with political advisor Dareal Noxim."

The Praetorian guard that was currently posted at the reception responded. "Welcome to the Praetorian Embassy. I will check if Dareal Noxim is available. "

After a quick conversation on his communicator the guard looked at Kamuka Yatana again. "Dareal Noxim has time for you at the moment. Zatiri will bring you to his office."

A Praetorian came flying down from one of the upper layers of the building. The Praetorian looked like a large female that had multiple gems decorating her body. She turned towards Kamuka Yatana and said. "Welcome. I am Zatiri. Follow me."

Zatiri walked towards the large forcefield in the middle of the courtyard that was used as an elevator. She stepped on the elevator and waited for Kamuka Yatana. After a few seconds the elevator stopped on the 24th floor where she walked to the office of Dareal Noxim. She entered the room and sat down next to Dareal Noxim. "Our guest has arrived."

"Welcome to the Praetorian Embassy. Thank you for coming on such a short notice. "

Dareal paused for a moment.

"We were wondering if the club you are opening is really appropriate for Praetorian Embassy personnel. We Praetorians have no need for exotic dancers or companionship. I would rather have a conversation with other creatures in a quiet place with no such distractions. Could you tell how this works in practice?
Furthermore we would like to know why there is such a specific distinction on gender. Are the lounges completely prohibited from members of the opposite gender?
Could you assure us that this club is comfortable for us Praetorians?"

"It is an honour to be invited by a high-ranking official such as yourself. I hope I can answer your questions to your satisfaction."

Kamuka Yatana sat down.

"I can assure you that your desire for private conversation can be met by my club. My aim is to be hospitable to the representatives of different factions, while at the same time introducing them to part of the Veolian cultural heritage.

Part of our culture is a strong difference between men and women. As you are probably aware, in veolian culture, men are seen as strong leaders and as such are ascribed a certain directness in their dealings. Opposite of this, women are seen as skilled negotiators and socialites, which is often at odds with the directness of men. Because of this the distinction between men and women has relevance to the design of any club on Mirda. As men and women have wildly differing attitudes towards relaxation, and each other, it is important for any successful club to properly address such differences.

Because of the great variety of cultures on Unity, not least of which is a departure of the usual gender roles of men and women, we have opted for a less strict approach. As it is impossible to accommodate every cultural perception of the gender roles, we have determined that it is best to let everyone determine for themselves, and to have no restriction on the lounges themselves. So, as you can see, it is mostly an aesthetic choice.

As to the exotic dancers and companionship. We aim to please all representatives, and we are aware that there might be cultural issues on this front. I assure you that during the grand opening, no such things will be visible. Part of our cultural heritage that such things are available for the patrons to enjoy. On Mirda, it is not unheard of for a highborne lady to ask a servant girl to disrobe, however as this is not Mirda, we look toward a more culturally neutral way of handling such requests. However, if one of the representatives would show interest in such things, we are sure we can accommodate their wishes, in private if need be.

We are also debating the opening of a special 'Senator's wing' where the truly influential representatives of the different Union factions can meet to talk in private with guarantees of privacy.

Does this answer your questions?"

"I think it does for now. We will come to the opening and check it out ourselves. It will be hard to manage all these different cultures, I am wondering how this will work out."

Dareal looked at Zatiri for a moment and than back at Kamuka Yatana.
"These are all our questions, thank you for coming to our embassy."

"I look forward to your input during the opening."

With that, Kamuka Yatana left the room and, a short while later, the embassy.
