T'sal listens attentive to what the barman has to say.

“Thank you for the explanation.”

T’sal makes a bow and goes back to miss Likra.

((OOC: Ready to leave.))

As T'Sal, miss Likra and miss Mikaro went to the door to leave, the door was blocked by three men. T'Sal recognized the middle man as the 'big tipper' at the bar.

"Miss Likra", he said in Bolī, "What a pleasure to see you without your noble friend around."

His tone did not sound pleasant at all, and the way he looked at miss Likra did not promise anything good.

"Be smart Dhamakān.", miss Likra replied with an even voice. "This is not going to end well."

He looked over T'Sal and her guide before replying.

"Ha, as if a child is going to stop me."

He gestured to his two goons. "Boys, make sure the kid and the girl don't go anywhere. I think I'll take miss Likra to the alley out back so she can show me how sorry she is for helping that twi'lek girl last time."

The two goons moved in to make sure T'Sal and miss Mikaro won't go anywhere, while the large man violently grabbed miss Likra by her hair. A quick glance around told T'Sal that although the patrons of the pub didn't ignore the man, they did not seem inclined to help either. The barman was nowhere to be seen, and the dancer stopped dancing and stared intently at what was going on.

T’sal looks carefully at the guys blocking the door and she recognizes the one in the middle. Now she has to be bodyguard and she does not like it much. She does not want to immediately reveal that she is a Jedi and do it subtle. Miss Likra seems to be very reassured with having a Jedi next to her and mister Dhamakān seems to be a local gangster as he likes to show his power. T’sal does not like these kinds of guys and she wants to show them you should not judge a book by its cover. T’sal tries to make an impressive posture and talks in Bolī serious to their leader.

“Dear mister Dhamakān, you seem to be a smart man. Do you think that miss Likra would come her unprotected with the knowledge that you would come? Strength and size or age are not linearly proportional. There are a lot of differences between various species. Even when you have a lot of knowledge about them you can only make a ruff estimate as the sum is more than the addition of its parts. You should not judge solely based on appearances there are other things you should take into account. Think about it?“

T’sal takes a pause and looks him straight in the eyes with a daring look and a smile on her face. As words will probably not be enough to persuade this man, she asks with a little secret help of the force.

“So if you would please, let go of miss Likra. Then we can solve this in a civilized matter.”

((Check: 9 = 5 Force Level + 3 Fitness + 1 Stealth -- To not let the other notices that she is using a Jedi mind trick (also hiding taking up suus mahna stance at the end)))

((Check: 10 = 5 Force Level + 4 Energy + 1 Mind Trick -- Use Jedi mind trick, first italic part is for the leader only and the second part for him and the goons.))

As T’sal is not sure if the mind trick will word, she shifts her weight and takes up a more relaxed stance. (Taking up a martial art stance without the others noticing.) T'sal takes a look around, she is not really happy with the fact the the other people are not inclined to do anything.

"I'll let go of miss Likra, and then we can solve this in a civilized manner", the man repeated T'Sal.

True to what he just said, he let go of miss Likra and his goons took a step back to flank him again.

The man looked over T'Sal, before speaking.

"Of course I do not assume that she would come here unprotected, girl. But, it seems to me that I have the upper hand here. As you can see, the other patrons have little interest in helping her, or you it seems, out. You may think you are important, and what I'm doing is unjust. On your world you might even be right, but here, you are just a foreigner and you have no authority over me..."

He spoke out loud now, as if addressing the whole pub.

"I am hemet and miss Likra is not, that makes me right and her wrong. Instead of interfering with the affairs of nobility, she should mind her own business. If she does not and insists on interfering, I am fully in my right to punish her as I see fit. If any of my peers wish to lay claim to miss Likra on any grounds, now is the time to speak."

He put a lot of emphasis on the word 'peers', and was clearly looking at the dancer while he said it.

Miss Likra, meanwhile, had moved back to stand just to the right and a little behind T'Sal. "You should speak up now, Jedi.", she whispered to T'Sal just as Dhamakān challenged his peers to lay claim.

((OOC: I don't think you can do a mind trick fully in stealth (or at least, I have never seen it done in any of the movies). For this RP it doesn't matter, and I rule that your stealth works -- though you still make the handwavey gesture, the other people don't notice because your body blocks their sight. I've opened a discussion on the actual necessity of handwaving.

You can't take up an actual combat style without others noticing. You can be ready for combat, which T'Sal now is, but if it comes to actual combat, this won't allow you to skip round 0 and attack earlier.))

T’sal whispers back to miss Likra “After I lecture him.” She is not intending to let that bully of a man have his way.

“Playing claim is not what I had in mind with a civilized matter. I was thinking of discussing the issue you two seem to have and create a reasonable understanding by hearing each other’s arguments. That would be the logical thing to do. But then again I am a foreigner.

I made good preparation for my trip here from Unity. I learned the Veolian language and Miss Shebi Ajava has thought me the basic of Veolian Culture. She told me that you live in a feudal system where the strong protect the weak. But to me it seems that you are misusing your power to get your point.

We are here to have fun at the bar and not fight. Otherwise I could have stayed at home and mediate at the temple. But I am here to work on a research project with miss Likra and therefore I would like it that you stop your assault.”

T’sal paused a few seconds to let them think.

“So mister Dhamakān do you still want to play claim or do you want to reason? I have given you three hints about my hand and it us now up to you if you want to pass or call?”

((OOC: I have seen the thread and it is okay that I need to make the hand wave. Will make a nice description as to how to hide the motion next time.

Okay, I will drop the combat thing.))

The man clearly did not expect T'Sal to speak to him in such a tone. However, to his credit, he quickly caught on.

"You play a good game, girl. I will pass."

"Let it be known that I acknowledge the claim this girl has on miss Likra.", he said out loud for the whole pub to hear. "I have no interest in interfering with the research of a Jedi, and do not feel the need to interfere with her underlings in the future."

With that, he left the pub, quickly followed by the two goons, who fearfully eyed T'Sal before quickly getting out as well.

The pub remained silent, and miss Likra seemed ready to leave. But just before T'Sal could leave, she heard a single feminine voice "Thank you Jedi, for taking care of my niece.", looking back, she concluded from the attention of the pub's patrons that it was the dancer who had spoken.

((OOC: Shall we go to the next event? I plan on skipping a two weeks or so of boring research before the visit of Shebi Ajava's mother to the research labs. Of course, if you want to stick around and speak with the dancer, go for it!))

T’sal takes a look back at the people of the bar to see their reactions. She looks over to the dance after her words and gives her a smile back as a reply. As they are ready to leave she moves along miss Likra. When they have made some distance and are in a quit area T’sal asks miss Likra:

“Miss Likra, could you tell me to which House that guys belongs and what his problem is? It is always good to know who your opponent is.”

She listen carefully to miss Likra. T’sal goes then back to her room and before going to sleep she meditates to clear her mind.

Miss Likra looked at T'Sal with a confused expression.

"Well, he is from house Dhamakān. And his problem is that I prevented him from having his way with a twi'lek girl, as she wasn't interested in his advances. It really is very straight forward, Jedi."

Miss Mikaro dutifully walked with T'Sal to her room, before wishing her a good night.

Two weeks of interesting, yet tedious research pass by. Due to T'Sal's quick learning, she is able not only to contribute significantly, both miss Shebi and miss Likra expressed their surprise at T'Sal's latest conclusions. It seems that her Hiocan background brought an unknown mindset to the project.

During the lunch break, when miss Likra, miss Shebi and T'Sal were lunching in a nice small restaurant in the city, a servant wearing the colors of House Shebi approached the trio.

"Miss T'Sal, Lord Shebi wishes you to know that this daughter will be arriving shortly, and he hopes that you will find the time to meet her today."

The servant waited for her reply, before returning with it.

"It will be an honor to meet her."

T'sal talks with miss Likra on how to arranged their further research today as to give Lady Shebi a good idea on what they were doing.

Miss Likra agrees that it would be smart to make sure that lady Shebi has a good idea of what they are doing. T'Sal has the vague feeling that miss Likra was a bit afraid of lady Shebi, though miss Likra made sure to hide her feelings well.

Together, they quickly organized their work, and miss Likra made a few slides for a short presentation while T'Sal worked on some last-minute calibration.

The moment lady Shebi arrived was unmistakable, as the first thing T'Sal heard was the booming voice of lord Shebi Danoach echoing through the hangar where they were working.

"Jedi T'Sal", he said, "please, do meet my daughter, lady Shebi Lajāna."

He motioned with his hand for T'Sal to come to the entrance of the hangar, though it would soon be crowded over there, as a veritable army of ladies-in-waiting, servants and guards swarms into the hanger after the attractive veolian woman that stepped through the door on the arm of lord Shebi.

After T'Sal walked over there, lord Shebi introduced the two women to each other: "Lady Shebi, this is Jedi T'Sal from the Hiocan Society. Jedi T'Sal, this is lady Shebi Lajāna."

Lady Shebi remained silent while she looked at T'Sal, her expression carefully neutral. Her eyes met those of T'Sal and made the hiocan feel as if she was just a small child that was being judged for something.

Together with miss Likra they made the best possible presentation of their research in the limited time they had.

As the hear Lord Shebi approaching they give the final touch to their work. He motions T'sal to come and meet his daughter. She walks to the entrance of the hangar at looks at the entourage entering.

"It is an honor to meet you lady Shebi Lajāna."

T'sal makes the Hiocan greeting and a bow to welcome their guest of honor. T'sal remains calm and gives a small smile. She back looks at lady Shebi Lajāna to search for resembles with Shebi Ajava.

The resemblance between Shebi Lajāna and her daughter is uncanny. The only difference appears to be a braid of white hair coming from underneath her head ridges, or sira-rija as T'Sal remembers from her language lessons.

Other than the braid, it appeared that Shebi Lajāna was the spitting image of her daughter. The woman even had the same eyes, and she didn't look a day older than her daughter. In fact, if T'Sal hadn't been told that this was Shebi Lajāna, she might have mistaken the woman for her fellow padawan.

The noblewoman remained silent, her face still neutral, as she slowly walks around T'Sal as if she is determining how to serve up a prime cut of meat.

T'Sal could see the expression of Shebi Danoach cloud over, as if he is expecting something to go impressively wrong in the next few moments.

T'sal is a bit surprised as she get inspected by the Lady Shebi and the look on lord Shebis face does not make it easier. To ease up, she inhales and focuses on the Force to get an idea what this is about.

((Check: 10 = 5 Force Level + 5 Intuition -- Use the Force to get an idea about what Lady Shebi's is doing and her intentions))

She stand still and calmly waits for lady Shebi to finish her round and waits for her verdict.
Then she would like to proceed with their tour.

While Shebi Lajāna is inspecting her T'Sal has an insight. She remembers reading that most veolian high nobility involve themselves very little with the upbringing of their children. Only after a child becomes hemet do their parents show any interest.

"Father, why is she alone?", the noblewoman speaks in Bolī, and in a very demanding tone as well. This was clearly not meant for T'Sal.

"She is a very capable Jedi, Daughter. She has helped the project immensely with her presence.", Shebi Danoach replied.

"Very well. I shall spend some of my time on this child. Besides, it might be well to know some of my daughter's peers.", she replied in Bolī again, clearly oblivious to the fact that T'Sal spoke the language as well.

"You seem very young for one so well-versed in theoretical hyperspace physics.", she stated in Galactic Basic. "Proceed with your tour."

"Lady Shebi, looks can be deceiving. If I did not known better, I would have thought you where my fellow padawan.
Hiocans are a analytical species, furthermore being a scientist runs in the family and of course the Force is a powerful ally.As good as your daughter is in fighting lies mine forte with Physics."

T'sal starts with her tour around the lab and shows Lady Shebi and the other ladies the various set-ups and experiments. She then goes to miss Likra for the presentation of their results and a small demonstration.

It quickly became clear that regardless of her opinion on the hiocan padawan, Lady Shebi Lajāna thought this research an important matter.

She and her entourage paid close attention to the presentation, and some of the questions they asked showed at least an understanding of the subject. Lady Shebi herself mostly waited and let her advisers ask the questions.

After the demonstration, lady Shebi politely thanked the researchers for their presentation, and left for the next research project. She was quickly followed by her entourage.

"That went better than I expected. Good work.", lord Shebi said before leaving as well.

((OOC: I think we can start to wrap this up? I'm game for more roleplaying, but it might be good to finish this one and make time for new threads... Of course, if you want to continue, go ahead; but I don't have any other planned events.))

T'sal thanks lord and lady Shebi for their visits and hopes to complete the research soon.

((OOC: If you do not have any further events, we can wrap this up. Then I can finish the other threads. We need to start new fleet support then (if tech has been accepted.))

Apparently, lady Shebi was sufficiently impressed by the progress of the project, and she granted extra funding. In the weeks following her visit, the project sped up considerably as lord Shebi put the funding to good use. Together with T'Sal's aid, the project concluded in four weeks. Unfortunately, after the conclusion of the project lord Shebi did not allow T'Sal to take any of the research data with her.

A small farewell party was organized by miss Likra, after which T'Sal found herself back in the limousine-styled hovercar, with the cheerful Miss Mikaro telling her that a first-class seat has been reserved for her flight back to Unity.

The flight itself was uneventful, and soon T'Sal found herself back in the Jedi temple.
