Veolian Commonwealth - Faction
((OOC: This thread is private to the Veolian Commonwealth and the Unified republic of Darya.))
When the Mark VIII Daryan armoured vehicle pulled into the Veolian embassy grounds, it became clear why the Veolian's had opted to to maintain their own embassy, instead of relying upon the senate buildings to provide for embassy space. Unlike some of the other factions, the Veolian Commonwealth clearly did not try to reduce the costs of their embassy here on Unity.
From driving to the embassy building it became clear that the embassy grounds consisted of three separate zones: a public area consisting of a beautiful garden (which might be considered a waste of space by some, due to Unity's limited real estate) with a central fountain around which several buildings offered information and other services to the public.
The second zone consisted of the main embassy building: an elegant cone-shaped highrise with around 35 floors, surrounded by smaller buildings connected by skybridges. Some of the smaller buildings tote impressive communications arrays pointed into space. The entrance to the main embassy building was paved with polished black marble, and flagpoles carried the banners of the Union, the Veolian Commonwealth, and each of the six great houses. Security measures were subtle, but clearly noticeable for those looking for them.
The final zone, the courtyard, is formed by two wings of the main embassy building, surrounding a large courtyard, and nearly coming together at the other side. The two arms are connected by a gate building, while the courtyard itself sports a large landing area, partly filled by the Naukā-lon-dorne and a few other, smaller, vessels.
As the Daryan vehicle came to a stop in front of the main embassy building, a single Twi'lek woman could be seen standing just inside the embassy as well as four guards on each side of the red carpet leading into the embassy.

Tayu Shanora - PC
Upon entering the embassy, senator Konev was greeted by a Twi'lek woman with a formal bow.
"Good afternoon, senator Konev", the Twi'lek woman started. "I am Tayu Shanora, one of her imperial majesty's personal belongings. If you and your wife please follow me, I will take you to the lounge."
She then led the way through the rather spatious embassy building. Along the way it became clear that the display of wealth on the embassy grounds was not just a front to look prosperous.
When stepping into the very large elevator senator Konev could see a glimpse of two veolian women, one carrying a tray of drinks, the other carrying a tray with a few kinds of coffee cake, turning into a corridor that would to the side of the embassy.
"To the imperial suite", the Twi'lek woman said to the bellboy. With a short bow towards the senator and his wife, the boy pressed the topmost button, and the a soft hum could be heard while the elevator swooshed upwards. Without a sound, the elevator came to a complete halt, and the doors opened to show a large hall decorated by a few paints and strategically placed statues. The main feature however, was the view from the large floor to ceiling windows, offering an unobstructed view of Unity city.
The Twi'lek woman led the Daryan party to a different room. Some of the furniture, though perfectly matching the style of the other furniture, was adapted to be comfortable to a mudry, and ensured that the smaller species did not sit much lower than the others. Two veolian servants stood at the entry of the room, and bowed when the Daryan senator entered.
With a subtle gesture the Twi'lek woman indicated the lounge, "Please make yourself comfortable, her imperial majesty will be with you shortly. In the meantime, if is there anything I can do for you, or if there is anything you wish to know before lunching with her majesty, do not hesitate to ask."
After the mudry couple sat down, the Twi'lek girl kneeled on the ground, making sure she did not once turn her back to the daryan senator while at the same clearly adhering to a formal way of sitting, ending up in a perfect seiza-style position.

((OOC: I will be using the Konev account for this whole conversation since I don't feel like making an extra account.))
The armored hoovercar gently settled on its landing struts and a door near the back of the opened up. Out of the door came senator Konev making quite a dashing figure gone was the slightly worn coat he normally wears. In its place was a perfectly pressed and cleaned full dress uniform. His shoes were shined like a mirror along with the medals on his chest of which the centerpiece was a large diamond gem surrounded by a gold laurel. If one looked a bit closer at the gem one could see that in the middle of the gem there was a stardestroyer like vessel flying trough the open end of a sickle. on his head he wares a white peaked cap with the large emblem of Darya on it. He then turned around to the car and out came Mrs. Konev.
She also looked her best wearing what at first glance looked like a elegant dress matching her green skin tone. When one looked a bit better you could see it was instead a Daryan platʹe the formal gown of the murdy female. The outfit consisted of a blouse resembling the top part of a dress and a pair of sharovary together with a cloth tied around the waist to hide the part where blouse and pants meet.
Just before she would land Gregory took of again to fly by her side. The two of them then flew over the red carpet to were they were being expected. When they were greeted they both preformed a poklon an aerial version of a simple bow with Gregory taking of his cap and holding it under his arm. They looked slightly uncomfortable when the Twi'lek woman described herself as property but they smothered the look very fast. They then followed her to the elevator and up to the imperial suite.
"If you can store my hat for me that would be much appreciated." Gregory said holding out his cap. "Also could you get us both a glass of water while we wait?" Yaroslava asked before they flew to the chairs and gently sat down in them.

Tayu Shanora - PC
Shanora gracefully stood up again, immediately after sitting down. She was clearly adhering to some tradition of protocol that was unknown to the mudries.
She walked over to the Mudry senator and accepted the cap with two hands. With a short bow, she moved out of sight.
A few moments later, though the mudries did not hear anything other than her footsteps, she walked in again. She carried a wooden tray with two porcelain cups and two napkins on it. She put down the tray in the low table, and left again. The second time she entered, she carried a porcelain jug.
She put the jug down on the table as well and sat down between the table and the couple, again making sure she did not turn her back to her guests, and again adhering to the proper way to sit down for a Tayu.
"The water has been flown in from Mirda this morning, on the imperial courier ship flying errants for my mistress. It was bottled seven days ago at the Srota-sesu spring, on an island in one of the many natural reserves."
The twi'lek woman delicately removed the stop from the jug, and slowly filled the first porcelain cup. She then put the stop back, and took a hold of the cup, using her other hand to support the cup as she gracefully handed it to senator Konev. She repeated the same steps for the wife of the senator, placed the jug on the table, and laid the stopper next to the jug.
"Is there anything else I can do for you?", she asked while looking up at the senator.

Both of the Konev's thanked Shanora for there drink before the Mudry senator could say anything Yaroslava said "Gregory I believe there was one thing of dining etiquette."
He looked at his wife before a proverbial light bulb when off. "Yes there is one thing. We are not sure what is the proper amount of food to leave on ones plate after eating. In Darya it is polite to finish all the food on the first plate you are given. I unfortunately do not know what is recommended when lunching her imperial majesty. For the rest we have no further needs for now." Senator Konev said as he turned to speak to Shanora.

"Do not worry about it. With regard to lunch and dinner etiquette, the veolian culture is surprisingly diverse. Her imperial majesty will not feel any different should you leave some food on your plate.
Drinks are another matter. As hemet metabolism requires more fluid intake than that of normal veolians, servants will take care to ensure that your glass will remain filled. If you are done eating, you can indicate so by leaving a large amount of drink in your glass; if you empty your glass, the servants will take this as an indication that you like more food, and more importantly, more drink."
A soft chime can be heard from the hallway.
"Oh. Please excuse me.", the twi'lek woman said while getting up.
After getting up, she quickly left the room.

The mudry couple heard a short dialogue from the hallway, two women conversed in native veolian tongue.
A few soft footsteps later, they veolian empress walked into the room, promptly followed by the twi'lek slave.
"Well met, miss Konev, senator Konev", she said smilingly, "It is an honour to lunch with you."
The empress remained standing for now.

Both mudry turned towards the sound of someone entering the room. They got out of there cairs and once again preformed a poklon only in this case going much lower to the ground than when they greeted Shanora. "We are honored to meet you your Imperial Majesty." Gerogory said after they were flying at a convenient height for the people they were talking to.
"I am glad to receive you. One does not get to meet war heroes every day, senator Konev."
"Shall we move to the lunch room?", she asked.
Without waiting for an answer, she started toward a closed double door at the other end of the room. As she approached the door, it was promptly opened by a servant on the other side.
The lunch room was a large semi-circle shaped room, the flat wall featuring a large window looking out toward the senate buildings, and also offering a great view of the garden in front of the Veolian embassy.
"Please, have a seat", the empress said while sitting down herself.
"So tell me, how is the terraformation of Sokar coming along?"

"That seems like a good idea." Gregory responded deciding not to comment on the war hero thing.
Both mudry followed the empress to the lunch room. when they looked out the window to the gardens below they were impressed with the work that must have gone into maintaining it.
At the empresses her invitation the two mudry sat down.
"The terraformation of Sokar is going very well indeed. Allot of people are very happy with it. The polls even tell us that the plans for the further terraformation of all the moons of Okan are going to pass with an 80% approval rating in the coming elections." Gregory sounded very pleased with the results. "We hope that the Veolian Commonwealth can also help us with the Atmospheric Purification of those moons."

"Handling all the details of such large-scale deals is below my station", the empress started, "But I will make sure that lady Nehket Aeka is aware of my approval of such an agreement."
"How has the recent cooperation between our faction's largest organics corporations been received? On Mirda it has created some uproar, as my husband appointed Iaat Vyapar to be the consortium's director. This, of course, has provoked some of the more traditional Houses to respond critically."

"I am very grateful for your Imperial Majesty support for a project that is close to many a Mudries hart."
"The Dryatech corporation has been very well received in Darya. His Imperial Majesty made a most excellent choice in the appointment of Duke Iaat Vyapar. His reputation as a selfmade Veolian together with the reputation of House Iaat has earned him and the Dryatech Corporation a very good name with most of our population." Gregory stated his approval of Iaat Vyapar clearly showing in his voice. His wife was nodding in agreement with him.
"Your Imperial Majesty how have the spires of DVF Organics been received by the population of the Veolian Commonwealth." Yaroslava following up on her husbands topic.

"As you know, we had to adopt the original designs somewhat, as veolian's are of a larger stature than mudries. As you might now, current veolian architecture does take into account the benefits of green roofs and. Because of this, there has not been a significant interest in the buildings themselves. That is, other than the fact that one can build farms in cities, which though a future wish for most of the great houses, has become a reality due to your generous sharing of expertise.
More interest went out to the actual data on plant species DVF brought with them, as some of the species seem very pliable due to their relative genetic simplicity. Up till now, no actual research has been done due to the Imperial Decree on constructed genetic experimentation. We would not be particularly amused by a rampant growth of tubers."

"I can understand one does not want there planet overgrown by foreign plants. Altough I have to admit I know very little about plants other then how to trim a hedge." Gregory said before looking at his wife seeking help with the matter.
"Most plants on Darya are quite adaptive indeed. Some of the tropical plants grow quite well even in much colder climates. Some of those are quite fashionable at the moment and have found there way in the gardens of allot of mudry." Yaroslava managed to add.

"It is indeed a subset of these tropical plants that have been the cause of much talk within the field of genetics. I will not bore you with the details, but suffice it to say that nature has once more astonished us by its elegant simplicity."
A moment after the empress stopped speaking a veolian man entered the lunch room.
"Good afternoon your imperial majesty, senator", he started. "I am Acca Khanar, your chef for today."
The man bowed to the empress, and then to both mudry.
"Today's lunch will consist of seven courses. The first course, will be a selection of cooked vegetables delicately spiced and topped with coconut icing. The second course will consist of rice, dal and a vegetable curry. The third course will consist of seasoned yellow rice with a fish curry. The fourth course will be a meat curry of lamb served with sweetened rice balls. The fifth course will be pantua, a local confection from her imperial majesty's region of birth. The sixth course will consist of a sweet yogurt with prepared soft fruits. And finally, the seventh course will be a refreshing mint and anise drink."

"That sounds like an excellent meal." Gregory responded to the cook.
((OOC: yeah a bit short but don't know what else to say))

"Thank you, your lordship.", the chef answered.
After a short bow, the chef left the room again.
A few moment later, two servants entered the room and set out to bring cutlery and glasses of water to everyone.
Finally, after four minutes, the servants came back again, this time carrying a large tray containing an extensive selection of bowls and plates. Much to the mudrys confusion, it appeared that the courses were served all at once.

Gregory blinked at the description Lord in relation to himself. "You are welcome?" he replied a bit unsure.
When everyone was seated and ready to eat the Konevs turned to the empress and said in a formal tone. "We thank our host and their household for providing us with a meal." They then gave the empress some time to respond before they looked back at there own plates and the food.

"We graciously accept your thanks, and hope the meal will please you."
The servants set about serving everyone at the table, starting with the first course and staying around, just out of notice, to serve the different courses in order. It seemed the servants were very attentive at the state of the glasses, and seemed somehow able to ensure that the glasses never went empty without drawing attention to the refilling.
The empress remained mostly silent while she ate, and took her time to savour each course.

The Konevs seem to enjoy there meal quite allot and the food vanished of there plates with speed but not without losing an inch of decorum.
during the halfway mark in between being served Gregory commented to the empress "Your Imperial majesty my compliments to your chef. This meal is very different from a Daryan meal but most excellent. I hope your cook is willing to trade some recipes with my cook."

"I shall be sure to have this mentioned to him. I am sure that he would be delighted to converse with a colleague."
During the meal, the Konevs could easily determine that the increased fluid intake of hemets was not a joke. In the time the Daryan senator finished a single glass, the empress drank two and half glasses.
Finally, the meal came to an end, with the last drink a concoction with mint and anise.
The empress patiently waited until the Daryan delegation finished eating, and then lifted her glass. "May our peoples' cooperation be long and fruitful.", she toasted.

"May our people remain good comrades in the many years to come." Gregory stated as he lifted his glass in a second toast.

After raising her glass to the toast, the empress took a sip and held her glass in the hand.
"Shall we move to the lounge? We would love to speak to you about the future of our cooperation in the Union."
If the mudries react positive, the empress takes her glass and walks back to the lounge, where she sits down in a comfortable chair and takes another sip.
After the mudry party sat down, she started: "This period, the commonwealth has supported chancellor Bolv'ar's candidacy. But we now think that he might have bitten off more than he can chew. The recent incident with senate security just shows this, as he left the senate hall, instead of debating the issue. He then called the head of senate security out, thereby depriving other senators the option to question the head of senate security themselves.
And more recently, he welcomed the Teprogranaian Consensus, but failed to inform them off the Union grant and the exemption from taxes. Such examples go to show that he does not seem to keep everything together.
How does the Unified Republic of Darya view such worrisome developments?"

"That seems very pleasant plan." Gregory responded and the mudries followed the empress to the lounge.
"Hmm yes chancelor Bolv'ar when we voted for him it seemed that he was very driven and interested in the future. I even advised President Trostnik that he seemed like a very promising candidate." He looked at his wife for a moment before continuing. "I even saw something of myself in him looking for change but my place was may a bit more extreme. But what I see of him it seems that my trust in him was misplaced." Gregory seemed disappointed.
"We hope that this situation will end soon with either mister Bolv'ar will give an good explanation for these situations and resigned. But I would prefer that he would end his term and then be assessed as is common on Darya and be held accountable for what he did. If it goes the way it went the last time someone in Darya tried something like this he would be in the gulag for a year." The empress did not have to pay to much attention to hear the steel in Konev's voice.

"It is remarkable that we have not yet seen any of senator Bolv'ar's campaign promises in practice. Though the chancellor has at least another seven weeks to enact such laws, it is indeed highly unlikely that he will be able to do so."
"To me, personally, it seems as if he is a very capable man out in a position that demands too much of him. He has served the Union well as minister of defence, and it would be good for him to acquire some experience with the other aspects of the cabinet before trying for chancellor again."
The empress took a sip of her drink.
"I shall let you in on something not yet publicly known. The Imperial council has had enough of Bolv'ar's style of running things, it has been decided that the Veolian Commonwealth will run for chancellor during the next elections. In the position of chancellor, we offer stability and punctuality. Something sorely lacking in this term.
We look toward cooperation without asking for decreased sovereignty. And though we recognize the need for military strength, we do not wish to focus solely on such a single issue, and instead want to look at the overall scheme of things. We trust that carefully selected ministers, whom have proven to be dependable, are sufficiently capable to oversee their domain of expertise.
Would you be willing to support us in this endeavour to bring stability and cooperation to the Union?"

The empress took a sip of her drink.
