[Ministry of Defence] Briefing in the war room. <military liasons only>
"The Sundarian Federation will happily abide by the commands of the Admiral Giambastiani, and any Jedi already on Remunzia." Joyce confirmed.
"Our forces can arrive in
12, 3 in
308 at the earliest, so a joined deployment of troops in
312, which means our forces would arrive in greater numbers, is certainly possible and would have our preference."

"I never let politics cloud my better judgement, Commodore, so yes, I do doubt the jedis proficiency."
Amira said.
"Jedi are trained to use the Force and as powerful as that may be, the Jedi themselves admit they neither control nor fully understand the Force. That makes it an unknown quantity. Using an unknown quantity to make battlefield decisions leads to casualties, failed objectives and waisted lives."
"I would like to avoid that and thus I cannot approve of anyone put in command that might make such decisions. Command decisions should be based on reason, logic and a good grasp of the situation, not on what 'feels' to be the right course of action. To be honest I am surprised non of you have had this objection."

"We would like to repair our damaged ships if there are no further tasks for us.
I would like to remind you that our army is standing by ready to be picked up by a Union fleet. So please contact us on the details."

"We have no further tasks for the Veh Halitra fleet at this moment.
Unfortunately the Union has no combat-ready fleets to spare. All combat-ready fleets are active in the Remunzian sector."

"Lady-Admiral, I have not voiced an objection because I am not in the habit of being uninformed.
You seem intent on not acknowledging that Jedi Master Shebi Ajava has had a distinguished 25-years long military career as Fleet Admiral in the House Shebi fleets, preceded by a decade of special operations training and experience. She only started training as a Jedi after her 60th birthday. In simple terms: she has a liftetime of military experience, and training as a Jedi operative on top of that.
You are free to doubt the proficiency of the Jedi in general. But I will not sit idly by while you deride a member of my House. You will accord Fleet Admiral Shebi Ajava the same respect that you accord any one of us in this room."
Shebi Sundara spoke in a tone that was not anger — she was much to aware of the relevance of this meeting for anger — but still makes clear the she felt personally insulted by what she experiences as the casual dismissal of her House's reputation.
"If you do not want your army to have anything to do with the Jedi, please do us all a favour and follow the minister's advice: do not go to Remunzia."

The Astrian woman maintained her neutral expression.
"I admire your loyalty to your own, Commodore, I really do. But I will not support any decision that I believe needlessly endanger the lives of soldiers who are counting on me to look out for them. I was sent here to do a job, Commodore, not cater to politics."
Lady-Admiral Suzumia turned to the rest of the people present.
"I have attempted to provide advise based on what I believe to be the best way to liberate Remunzia. Only instead of being disagreed with I've basically been told to get in line or get out. I'm slightly confused.
Minister, Admiral Giambastiani, I was under the impression our goal here was to cooperate. But it seems more like I'm just here to relay orders. With all due respect, but that seems counter to getting the best results possible."
She sighed.
"The Astrian Colonial Marines First Army will follow the orders given by whomever is assigned by Admiral Giambastiani. At the very least the additional numbers will help when things go awry."
Amira shook her head as she said the last sentence.

"I would like to stress that we do want to cooperate. However the Jedi are one of the factions that keep us together and play an important role in such situations, we don't understand why you don't trust them.
However since this mission will put armies of several factions on the homeworld of one of our members there are limits and accountability. The ministry is very serious about this and that is why this matter was stressed.
We propose to let the Jedi coordinate this assault. Admiral Giambastiani will stay in command of the operation on and around Remunzia."

"As you wish, minister.", the commodore acknowledged the minister's position on the matter and accepts it as the final say.
Yet, not having received an apology from the Astrian commander, she still hopes to bring her point across to the Astrian commander.
"Lady-Admiral, I am not against you doing your job. While I believe there is no battle that is not in some way political, I have great respect for professionalism.
That said, I do not understand the reasons for why you are against someone with over 45 years of military experience be placed in command just because she happens to also be a Jedi. That seems to go counter to your ideas that you want fewer unknown quantities.
Surely you do not expect us all to disregard the Astrian Colonial Marines because we have not had the opportunity to fight besides them, which in effect makes them an unknown quantity to us... Is it not reasonable to expect the Astrian Colonial forces to be competent and have confidence in their training and abilities? And if we do so, is it not also reasonable to expect Fleet Admiral Shebi Ajava to be competent and to have confidence in her Veolian training and abilities?"

((OOC: sorry for the late reply))
"I don't trust any paramilitary organization not under the direct control of a government. They tend to have different agendas then governments. Call me paranoid if you must, but thirty years in intelligence has taught me trust in anything other then self-interest is dangerous."
Amira replied to the Minister of Defence. Turning to Commodore Shebi, she continued.
"We shall see whether the jedi prove to be competent battlefield commanders or not. I see no reason to further discuss it, considering I have already agreed to the proposed command structure. Fortunately my orders were very specific."

"Well, at least we can agree that organisations not under the control of our government are not to be trusted.", Shebi Sundara replied with a smile. "I have the greatest confidence in fleet admiral Shebi Ajava, and I am sure that she will not let you down either."
