Shebi Sundara took her time to savour the taste of the dish.

"Dejarik is a game of tactics played on a circular board with holographic pieces. The goal is to defeat the other player through well-thought out moves. Most pieces resemble animals from the galaxy, though I have to admit that some of the creatures seem to fantastic to be found in the galaxy."

"No one knows the origins of the game. My theory is that it was originally a teaching device used by the Jedi."

She takes a sip of wine.

"Several older texts, in the Commonwealth at least, describe the game speaking about it as if it is conductive for getting learning something about your opponent's personality, and their way of moving about in the galaxy."

Dana listened to the duchess explain the game.

"I see." She said after the duchess finished explaining. "What do you think about playing with holographic pieces?"

"It seems a little strange to me. I would think playing with solid pieces would be more enjoyable, simply because of the feeling of the pieces in your hand. The firmness, the weight and the texture of each piece adding to the sensation of playing the game."

Dana took another sip of her wine and awaited the duchess' reply with great interest.

"The nice thing about using holographic pieces is the fact that they can do little victory dances. I am rather fond of seeing the little pieces dancing about on their sector of the board as if they are eyeing the opposition and scaling them up for future moves."

She takes another sip of wine.

"And of course, seeing how they are holographic pieces, you can substitute your own pieces for the standard set. I have several sets that were exquisitely crafted by holosculptors. The fluid marble set is particularly elegant. I do know of several players who prefer physical pieces, but I think I would miss the little animated details more than that I would enjoy the sensation of holding the piece."

She puts down the glass of wine, and picks up the chopsticks to break off some of the shell, tasting it with her full attention focussed on the unique dish.
