Act II: The reveal and the discussion
The conference room was well-appointed. And the staff had made sure to take into account the anatomies of the attending guests to make sure that correct seating options were available. It was clear that this was more than your average 'scientists are put together in a room' situation.
The human woman introduced as field marshaal Iaat Shigemi was already here, still wearing a practical military outfit. With her were two veolian men, each of them taking turns talking enthuisiastically while pointing things on the datapad they had with them. As she sees the party arrive, she turns to greet them.
"I hope you enjoyed dinner. It is good that you are all here, the preliminary findings deserve to be heard by those that risked their lives to retrieve the artifact. It is a pity that the Astrian Jedi left in anger, I would have liked him to know what our soldiers died for."
"Please, take a seat.", the previously very terse commander clearly turned up the hostess-factor for this evening.
((OOC: I'm doing a role-call here. Everyone that wants to be there when the big reveal is done should give a short description as if we just started this thread. I will wait till tuesday and continue without those not there (even if they are professor Komian!)))
((OOC: although the tour was a nice idea, I think this is indeed for the best))
Trigiel entered the room. He was his usual self with no clothing and mainly his head painting and body colour to distinguish himself from the other Teprogrenaian full body cyborgs. The padawan walked towards a fitting chair and sat down.

Danar Lorum - PC
At the same time, Danar Lorum entered the room. He is wearing the same traditional stylish armour he wore during the tour. Lorum walked towards the front, sitting in his personal chair for the board members.
Ariana sat down in a corner of the room. She was there to observe.
August entered the room and took a seat. Besides some nice greetings he left everything to Field Marshall Iaat.
Professor Komian walks to the front and gathers all the data of their excavation of the Masuk' faik-khush artifact. His presentation included an elaborate introduction as he did not know much about the knowledge level of his listeners. He looks to the people in the room for some last minute instructions.
A little later some more people entered the room. Some of them were head scientists from the several divisions the group was shown during their tour. Some others appeared to be military personell from the Veolian Commonwealth, Teprogrenaian Consensus and Unified republic of Darya.
While they were coming in, a female veolian helped professor Komian connect his presentation device to the rooms holoprojector system.
"Welcome everyone. This evening our scientists shall present the preliminary results of the analysis of the hiocan Masuk' faik-khush artifact found on the Hali Krani dig site on Erau. However, before we get to the preliminary results, it is my pleasure to announce that professor Komian of the Zavel institute will give a presentation on the dig site itself and its historical relevance."
She turns to the professor, "Everyone, professor Komian.", she announces as she starts clapping. The applause was quickly taken over by the other scientists and miltary personell.

((OOC: Fuck internet, lost my post !!!))
“Welcome, thanks you all for coming. As Field Marshall Iaat Shigemi said I will tell you more about the historical background of the finding of the Masuk' faik-khush artifact.
It all starts with the origin our of race, professor V’Nos has given an presentation on the 1st Intergalactic Science Conference, so please look there for more information. I will give you a short overview of recent history.
As you know the Hiocans are named after their homeplanet Hio. Barbaric description have been found from four thousand years ago. But about 70 years ago ancient ruins have been found on Erau. On this Veh Kelek side, they found the remains of an ancient civilization. After this the Hiocan government has invested big in archeological and biological research.
In the My’enru system there are three planets in the Goldilock orbit, Erau, Hio and Ah’rak and various teams are deployed on all of them. They discovered that on all three planets the ancient Hiocan race lived before the Time of Choas. But during the Time of Chaos there was a big war. On Ah’rak everything was completely destroyed. Hio became quite unstable with a lot of Volcanic activities and only a few small artifacts have been found there. But on Erau a lot of the of ruins have survived underneath a thick layer of earth or water.”
On the holoscreen various picture are shown to support the story. Then a familiar picture, from some, of a swamp is shown.
“The Hali Krani site has been discovered 18 years ago. The site is about 230 quire kilometer. What you have seen on the ground is only the top of a bigger structure underneath the swamp. Due to radiation interference no droids can be used and it have been hard work to clear the site. It will takes us many years before we have uncovered it and all the artifacts. The top that we have discovered seems to be some kind of port. There are various docks but the set up of it is completely different compared to the currents systems in use by the Union. In the centre there was a big central control system and here we found the Masuk' faik-khush data crystal. From what we could make out is seemed that this port could support more than one fleet. As we are no expert on logistic technologies we have asked the Djana research centre to help with the investigation of the Masuk' faik-khush artifact.
I want to thank you all for your help with this the mission to retrieve the artifact and bring it here. Thank you for your attention.”
Professor Komian bows and clears the floor for the research of the Djana research centre.

"Thank you, professor Komian, for this enlightening presentation."
"Now, I would like to give the floor to Danar Cogira of the Djana Research Consult, she will present the preliminary results of the analysis of the artefact."

Veolian Commonwealth - Faction
The slender teprogrenus efficiently attached her datapad to the holoprojection system, clearly having done this more than once already.
"Assembled guests, colleagues, and directors,
It is our, the Djana research centre's, pleasure to show you the preliminary results of the analysis of the artefact Masuk' faik-khush, with archeological code ZA-HK-534.343."
A slide with a complex graph is shown on the holoprojection.
"Based on resonance analysis, we conclude that the artefact is a data storage crystal. Unfortunately, it does not conform to our interfacing protocols, nor does it seem to be intact."
The graph goes away, and is replaced by a blueish translucent three-dimensional projection of the artefact itself. Several volumes and parts are highlighted in yellow and red colors.
"Conductivity tests have shown that the storage components of the artefact have sustained strong exposure to the elements, and have lost data integrity. The volumes marked red seem to be inert, and contain no further information. The yellow volumes appear to contain data, but are beyond our reach until we refine our data access methods."
The image zooms in on one of the parts, with the rest of the item fading away.
"However, this part shows great promise, as it appears to contain several schematics and process diagrams pertaining to flight-routing algorithms. We also found indications of several prototype implementations of space-filling subroutines together with schematics and design parameters for several highly specialised droid-like constructions."
The holoprojector quickly cycles throught several rough sketches of parts and finished droids that resemble miniaturized maintenance and cargo droids.
"We are confident that this information can be used as the basis for further developments in miniaturization and logistics improvements for space port-like complexes. Though the information currently accesible is not enough, we surmise that several leaps of technology could be made possible by further analysis of the artefact, and by reverse engineering the complex processes and construct design schematics contained within the data."
The holoprojector softly faded the images away.
"We look forward to further analysis.
Are there any questions?"

Seeing how there are no questions, Iaat Shigemi stands up again.
"Thank you, Danar Cogira, for this explanation."
"I suggest that we retire for the night. Tomorrow your transports back to Unity or your home world will be available."
((OOC: I think this is a good moment to wrap up this thread? The cooperation on the technology should be discussed in a different thread, methinks.))

But according to the Influence Points rules, you can make a nomination thread based on "Participate in private events with four or more players that are part of a story".))
