"We have an exciting time ahead of us with the pre-finals of the Grav-ball Championship starting up!

The first match held today saw some major action as the Cardinals beat up the Thug Team today, scoring 35 points over the thugs 10. As the pre-finals are single elimination, this means the Thug Team is the first to be eliminated from the pre-finals, with the Cardinals passing to the next round!

Stay with us for more exciting sports news!"

"Corruption tore up the Sons of Pitches from the inside today, scoring a total of 33 points to the Sons of Pitches 14. All in all the match was not very interesting with just a few exciting scores.

The only mayor event in today's match was the penalty given to the Corruption forward "Yun 'the Devastator' Tgghr", who was taken out of play after a very foul move in the final minutes of the match. He will be sitting out the next match against the Cardinals."

"The Flaming Centipedes burned down the Thunder Ducks in the match earlier today, with a meager score of 16 to 7, despite many chances for both teams.

The Widowmakers eliminated any chance of a match for the Queens today, with a score of 23 points to the Queens 7. The Flaming Centipedes and Widowmakers will be matched up in the next round, so it promises to be an exciting event!"

The match between the Beryllium Beatnicks and the Arachnid Gamorreans was held up today by the referees after supporters chanted remarks to implicate that the Arachnid Gamorreans were unable to perform various tasks due to their racial origin. The Beryllium Beatnicks were financially penalised for their fans racist remarks, but still managed to beat the Arachnid Gamorreans 24 to 3.

The Headhunters opened weakly against the Crazy Chickens, but after several fowls on their leader causing him to be taken out with an injury to the right leg, the Headhunters left their opponents running around headless, a condition that this reporter truly is not in any position to envy. The Headhunters won a 14 to 7 victory.

Headhunters crush the Cardinals!

Mirda -
The Headhunters completely obliterated the Cardinals in the semi-finals today, making for a humiliating defeat, so bad the video of the match was uploaded to holoporn websites under the name "Young athletes get fucked by an entire team"!

Though the Cardinals managed to score one honour-saving goal, some say Dan Coorath, the Headhunters defender was simply being generous to allow his opponents to save face. The Headhunter offene completely outplayed them with 13 clean points, with an exceptional beautiful score made by Acchā Khilara from the flank. Robin Van Persian was man of the match making five of the goals.

The question on everyone's mind is: who will the Headhunters face in the finale?

((OOC: The roll results were 1 for the Cardinals and 10 for the Headhunters, plust 3 for support packages for the Headhunters. Rekt.))

Flaming Centipedes win place in the Finales!

Enthor -
In a match that was exciting to the very end, the Flaming Centipedes managed to secure their place in the finals, closing the match with eight points to the four of the Dancing Trees!

The Dancing Trees opened strongly, with Danar Pilaere playing a key role in the mid field, assisting in both goals of Taji Lataan. Their efforts dominated the first half of the game, but the Flaming Centipedes came back strongly with Odrian Mardly playing a key role in turning the game around.

In the end, Erki Upm was unable to hold the onslaught and the match ended 8-4 in favour of the Flaming Centipedes.

In two weeks, the finale will be between the Headhunters and the Flaming Centipedes, in the Lumo Duo system!

Headhunters win the Grav-ball finals!

Praeto -
In what was easily the most anticipated game this year, the Headhunters faced off against the Flaming Centipede.

Both sides struggled valliantly, and much to the delight of the countless spectators accross the entire Union, showed skills and tactics in a display rarely seen before!

The Headhunters took the lead early in the game after a brilliant assist from Acchā Khilara basically gave the point to the Headhunters without further effort.

The Flaming Centipedes were not stopped that easily however, and Odrian Mardly stepped up to the plate, scoring several times in quick succession to put the Flaming Centipedes back in the lead.

It was only through the efforts of Dan Corrath that scoring streak by 'The Blaze' was stopped from finishing the match on his own!

Finally, Robin van Persian landed the final points after with what many describe as a death-defying manoeuvre, that was as effective as it was dangerous, winning the match for the Headhunters.

The score at the end of the game was 10 points for the Headhunters and 5 points for the Flaming Centipedes. What a final! What a victory!

Bozzy Traverse course speculations

Unity - During the break of this summary of local-league gravball championships, we want to talk a little about the pending opening of the new Bozzy Traverse season!

With the upcoming Bozzy Traverse racing season, speculations about the exact layout of this year's course are buzzing around in the holosphere.

The Bozzy Spine extension, now already a vague memory in the minds of most Union citizens, is still in the minds of both professional and armchair track speculators. Some speculate that this year will see the first so called Full Loop course, while others still say that the traditional here-and-there-again course layout will be reused. More pensive speculators claim that much of the course layout will be decided by the yet to be announced sponsors.

Regardless of speculation, with the joining of so many new members in the Union the course is likely to feature new, dangerous, and exciting spacescapes to challenge the teams!
