Senator Konev is making his way to the embassy of the Embers of Aten on Unity. He is waring his generals coat over his aging shoulders with his Star of Darya shining in the light of the hallway. He is chatting comfortably with one of his aides about the new member speculating a bit on what kind of people they are. Arriving at the embassy he lets his aide do the talking while he waits to be allowed in.
Senator Imhotep grants the Daryan senator access to the building, a large obelisk shaped structure made of a dark metal with trips red lighting along its sides. Imhotep goes to the entrance to meet his Solar neighbor wearing his official gown, a robe of black velvet with dark red lining.
Konev and his aid enter the embassy building trough doors around 3 times taller than they are. Konev´s aid seems impressed by how big everything is in this particular embassy while Konev acts as if its nothing. They see the tall catperson standing in the hallway. ¨Greetings I am Colonel General Gregory Konev senator of the Unified Republic of Darya and this is my aid Terenti Krupin. Who do I have the honnor of talking to?¨ Konev asked the tall person.
After a short period of silence, as Imhotep examines his guests and realities just how short the Daryan people are, hew answers Senator Konev.
"I am Senator Imhotep. Please forgive me if my eyes stare upon you, for I have not met any species in person, as it were. I hesitate to ask, but if you require any assistance navigating this building (he subtly hints towards the stairs) do not hesitate to ask”
Konev looks at the stairs and grins. ¨Ahh yes stairs do not worry about them good senator we Mudry may be small but we are very good at over coming tall obstacles.¨ Konev responds with a twinkle in his eye while he and his aid unfurl there bat like wings from there back. ¨In Darya it is a custom to shake hands if that is alright with you?¨
Imhotep relaxes, realizing that a lot of akwardnes has been avoided.
"I'd be happy to embrace this custom" says Imhotep, as he bows to offer his hand (or finger) to the Senator and his aid. "May I escort you to our lounging area?"
Konev and his aid begin beating the wings and take of from the ground so that Imhotep does not have to bend to deeply while they shake hands. ¨Lead us the way.¨ Konev responds now hovering at around chest height for Imhotep. ¨I am intrigued how our new comrades in the union decorate there buildings.¨
"It is a remnant of the Sith era of our system. During The Sith Lords rule, he blended Sith style and architecture with that of our original home world resulting in our current building style. When Aten was overthrown, there was great discussion as to whether we should radically overhaul our architecture, however we decided to hang on to this style for several reasons."
"One of them is that the lighting does not force our eyes to adjust to daylight, so we can easily see during the night. And as a personal reason for many, it is immensely satisfying to walk through the halls of your former slave master as a free man." He says this as he leads his guests through several corridors with red lighting to a room similarly lit and filled with low couches. beds and tons of soft cushions.
Konev and his aid follow Imhotep nodding form time to time at his story. ¨Getting rid of a tyrant is always a good thing. Its seems that although we differ allot in our physical appearance we have things in common.¨ Konev responds as they fly along. ¨We too were ruled over by a tyrant not that long ago.¨
"Then we may have more in common then we have anticipated" says Imhotep as he beckons his guests to take a seat.
¨Indeed we do.¨ Konev responds as he lands on one of the comfortable looking pillows. ¨I got the Star of Darya for my actions during the war of liberation.¨ he says pointing to the most impressive medal on his chest.
"Then you are a good and fortunate man. None of our war heroes have survived the rebellion. Many good Tefnutians lost their lives. Your medal, did you earn it for a specefic event or for your general good service?"
Konev smiled you can see in his body language that he likes to talk about his medal. ¨I got it at the last big battle. At that time it seemed that we might still lose for they had better equipment and more personnel. but I had manged to outmaneuver them and send part of my force from an angle they never expected. This left the road open to our former leader and we captured him. This is how I got my medal for saving Darya from that mad fool.¨
"An impressive feat indeed. So your rebellion actually became an all out war?”
¨Yes we had a system wide civil war it also destroyed our colony on Yasno they were dark times.¨ Konev looked like an old man at the time he said that. ¨but it was necessary he was a mad man who was going to destroy us all. we suspect that there were Sith involved but we could never prove that. We had to destroy him along with his compound and there was not much left but wreckage. but enough about our history we wish to know more about possible ways we can help each other because a good neighbor is a good comrade.¨
"Very well. So far we are busy trying to get a stable income, which we have succeeded in so far, however we have no plans for the immediate future. On the long run we hope to rebuild some military facilities and aid the Union in its defenses of those who are either less capable or less willing to take up their arms."
¨That is a noble cause we hope that we can start providing vehicles and the like to the union. We have extensive experience with building them and hope to share the with the rest of the union.¨ Konev responds.
The senators talked for a few hours about there people and plans and then parted ways again.
