[Senator Danar Tassar]

((OOC: This meeting is private between the Teprogrenaian Consensus and the Astai Republic.))

At the agreed time Tassar arrived at Purgatory in the senators lounge. He saw that Atheos wasn't there yet, so he reserved two comfortable seats where they could talk. He also ordered a small jar of tea which the teprogrenus started to drink while he waited for Atheos to arrive.

[Atheos]

Shortly after the agreed time Senator Atheos arrived in the senators lounge of Purgatory. He informed as to any reservations and was pointed to Senator Danar Tassar.

Arriving there he made a small bow to Tassar and said "Good day" before sitting down and pouring his own cup of tea and starting to drink from it.

"Avé, Atheos," Tassar greeted with the tube of his tea drink jar in his hand. "How has your day been?"

[Atheos]

"With the Mandelorians stirring my days are worrisome. Though no doubt we will be fine the Astai Republic is close to their borders as well and we have to take adequate measures and I spend a lot of time on the neccesary arrangements. Otherwise I have been quite fine. How has your day been?" Atheos replied to Tassar.

Making a gesture with his hand to order over a waiter, to order his own jar of tea.

"Very hectic as well. The political Consult is worried about the war and the refugees. They want to sharpen our asylum policy while the economical Consults walks around with tax signs in their eyes with the foresights of an increase in demand of capital ships. At the same time, the philosophical Consult talks about the decline of civilisation and I am asked to represent all of them. At least the construction of the Cradle is pushed forward in light of the recent events so there is some important progress after all.

Luckily I am able to get a good drink here to get to rest a little." Tassar immediately put deed to his words and put the end of the tube in one of his gill-like mouths to drink some of his tea.

[Atheos]

"I think that it is important in such times to have a unifying grand prestige project like your Cradle. We are currently working on the restoration of our great planet Enthor in cooperation with the Veolians. It has been a dream of my people for generations and so it unifies us. Working on such things I find I do not tire. How are the preparations going in the Teprogrenaian Consensus? Capital Ship production must be a mighty profitable enterprise nowadays."

The teprogrenaian senator was sucking tea through the tube while he was listening to his colleague.

"you would think so, but it is quite the opposite. The Consensus is forced to reduce its current production with a third because we simply are unable to usefully process any more ships. We think that most of the Union members either don't yet comprehend the situation, or don't feel the need to do something about it is as they feel quite safe themselves at the moment.

We are currently in discussion whether to start building our own fleet or wait with it. The problem with waiting is that our production is not used to its full potential, and that we might be in trouble later when the Mandalorians or pirates are able to come through the outer line of worlds in the Union.

The issue of starting now is that it is very expensive to maintain a fleet, and there is a certain chance that when we are in the middle of constructing a fleet there is a sudden dire need of capital ship goods to repair damaged fleets. When that happens, we have a unfinished and undefended fleet or the damaged fleets cannot be repaired. Both situations are most unwanted.

I read that your system had a very active sun in the past due to the fact that too much space debris entered the sun. Your sun has calmed down enough to recreate the planet to its old state? And please tell more about this rachnarok, it seems an important part of the history of your world."
