((OOC: This meeting is private to Lady Alexandra Koniova of the Sundarian Federation, Lady-Admiral Amira Suzumia of the Stellarian Triad Federation and Zatiri Ferumdra of the Praetorian Empire))
The meeting took place in one of the meeting rooms adjacent to the offices of the ministry of defence. The room contained a large oval table and large comfortable chairs in various sizes. On one side of the room a holographic star chart was projected on the wall and on the other side another projector was placed that could be used for presentations. The lights were still off.
Zatiri Ferumdra entered the room an hour early, dropped some datapads on the table and curled up in one of the largest chairs. She closed her eyes and waited for the rest of the comittee.
In the dim lighted room you could see a large reptilian curled up in a chair. Parts of her body sparkeled due to her almost crystal like body and the gem stones that were attached to it.

After receiving the invitation for the first meeting of the newly formed committee, Alexandra prepared for the meeting by up on the current status of the Union Intelligence and the Information gathered by the Sundarian Military Intelligence, as far as she was privy to.
As this was the first meeting, she was curious to meet the other members of the committee, but she also had few ideas and questions she wanted to discuss, not in the least of which was a meeting with the new Minister of Defence, shortly after the elections. She felt it important to make sure that the cooperation between the minister and the committee would be good and fast, mainly on the subject of information, so that the committee could take adequate measures would be able to make swift decisions should there be an imminent threat.
When she enter the reserved room, it was dark and in the dimmed lights she noticed a feint shimmering as the light reflected of a reptilian form curled up in a chair. This startled her slightly and she stammered:
"Oh, I'm sorry."

Zatiri quickly raised her head and opened her eyes.
"Please come in."
"Please come in."
Regaining her posture Alexandra walked in and sat down in a chair.
"Thank you, Miss Ferumdra. I am sorry if I interrupted you but I felt like arriving a bit early too. This committee is my first independent position, so it is a bit exciting for me and wanted to make sure that I left a good impression."

Shortly after Alexandra Koniova sat down a woman in a black military dress uniform entered. Embroidered on the right sleeve was the insignia of the Stellarian Triad Federation.
"Good day, ladies." The woman spoke with smooth deep voice.
"Shall we start with a short introduction?"
Without waiting for an answer she stood at attention and gave a salute.
"I'm Lady-Admiral Amira Suzumia, from the Stellarian Triad Federation. I look forward to working with you."
And with that introduction she lowered her hand and sat down near the other two.

"Its a pleasure to meet you Lady-Admiral,"
Alexandra responded as she introduced herself,
"I am Lady Alexandra Koniova from the Sundarian Federation. I hope that we can work well together and I hope that we can benefit from each others experience and knowledge so that we may fill the mandate this committee adequately."

Zatiri picked up one of the datapads and used it to increase the intensity of the lights in the room. The room was now well lit.
"I am Zatiri Ferumdra of the Praetorian Empire. I am the leader of the Omnipotari project and advice Dareal Noxim on economical matters at the Praetorian Embassy.
Let us get to business. It seems we still have to divide roles in the Commission. Let's see Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. I am willing to lead this commission, but I guess Treasurer could be fitting as well, since I am a Praetorian. What do you think?"

"I would feel out of place as chairmen," Alexandra admitted, "I reckon I would do better as Secretary, since I cannot yet match your expertise in either the financial or military fields but do know my fair share on politics and diplomacy."
"Might I request the position of Chair?" Amira asked the other two.
"I have practical and theoretical knowledge of most aspects of intelligence gathering. I can use my knowledge and experience to determine which assets need how much funding."

"It is decided then. Amira you will be the Chair. I will be the Treasurer and Alexandra will be the Secretary.
Let us continue with allocating some intelligence tax. Before we can do this we might need to look at the current state of the intelligence network.
We have access to the scanning capabilities of each sector with a homeworld and we have scanning on the bozzy spine and some spies in foreign factions of course. Did I forget anything?"

Zatiri Ferumdra of the Praetorian Empire - Treasurer
Alexandra Koniova of the Sundarian Federation - Secretary))

"Yes," Alexandra added, "We shall also have access to the data from the surveillance by the Sundarian Scanning fleets and their capabilities will be significantly increased in the next turns, thanks to a new breakthrough in Hyperspace Monitoring.
As for an allocation of funding I propose we convene with the new minister of Defence, to see what his plans are and in the mean time I suggest we invest in expanding the network of operatives within the Mandalorian Empire as they seem to be the largest threat. Perhaps we can set up several businesses on (Minor-2, in
5 -6) as a front for our operatives and monitor Mandalorian activities and rumors from there.
An investment in to research and the acquisition of new technologies is also an option, but this would depend on further investments plans by the minister and the cabinet. So it might be best to hold off on those until after the elections."

"The law that provided this commission with funding was voted in in
91 which means there is still 2500
left from this electoral period.
Your suggestion is implementation for this
instead of research? I agree that we need to look at the options before we can propose research. My advice to the minister of defence would be investing in spies for the region between the Mandalorians, Echani and the Union. Since I have heard that this will be contested territory soon. Unless the Hiocan society is exaggerating of course on their need for defence.
Of course it is still the ministry of defence who decides what will actually happen. We unfortunately only have an advisory role in these matters.
Amira what do you think? "

Amira what do you think? "
"I think a better way to expand our operative network would be to get them into existing businesses than setting up new ones. They already know these and are more likely to trust them.
I suggest we also look into the Mandalorian criminal underworld, get them to let us have access to their operatives and connections. That way infiltrating them becomes easier and the Union can deny any involvement."
Amira paused a moment.
"I also think we shouldn't focus to much on the Mandalorians. While they are the biggest threat at the moment, they're hardly the only one and we don't want to be caught of guard. I don't put it past the Hutts or the Mandalorians to gang up on the Union."

"An excellent suggestion," Alexandra conceded, "and a much better idea then my original one. Expanding our network should indeed not be entirely one sided, but we can warrant the Mandalorians some additional attention at this time, while also improving our intelligence capabilities with Hutt, Slave Rebellion and the Core Hegemony.
Perhaps we should also speak with the Jedi or the Veolian Empress once they have returned from the Slave Rebellion."

"We agree on the direction but seem to have other opinions on the implementations.
Amira will you contact the minister of defence to tell her that we have decided that implementation is our choice for the 2500
from
91 -
100.
Our advice is strengthening the current operative networks. How and if she will implement this is up to her."

"I have contacted the minister and she agrees. She will implement the funds as soon as possible."

((OOC: Yes, you can make a report similar to the reports by the Ministries of Finance and Commerce.))
