"No that's not it.

I prefer to travel alone as do most other Travellers."

Shadow paused a moment.

"I can operate all my systems myself and routine maintenance can be done by droids."

"Why do you prefer to travel alone?", the princess asked softly, not sure whether she would hit a nerve.

"So that I don't have to take others into consideration." Shadow was still as calm as ever.

"I travel to countless places, some times spending days in hyperspace. Some of the places I go are dangerous, I can't count on others to be willing to take the same risks I take. Travelling alone ensures I can travel where I want, whenever I want."

"Your Highness, I have little more to show you, are there any questions you still wish to ask?"

"I can walk back while we speak."

"Do you not miss your friends, family and your mate?", she asked while walking back to the hangar, relying on Shadow of War to guide the way by opening the right doors.

"I never had a partner. My father passed away a few years ago and mother..." Shadow paused searching for the right words.

"Well lets just say she got a new life."

"As for my friends and siblings, I keep regular contact with them through the holonet, so I don't really miss them."

As he talked to the princess he carefully guided them to an elevator that would take them back to the air lock they entered through.

While she and her servant and bodyguard rode the elevator, the princess replied

"I am sure that your current body makes certain types of exploration and interaction infeasible. I think you should really find a partner, at least. Someone that is willing to share your travels with you, and to represent you in a more relatable form."

She sounded very resolute, as if that was her final verdict on the matter.

After the elevator arrived at the air lock, the princess and her entourage stepped onto the hoversled.

"Shadow of War, thank you for allowing me on board. It was very interesting to speak to you. I wish you the best on your continued travels."

After Shadow of War said any parting words, the bodyguard activates the sled to leave.

Shadow ignored the princess' comment, she was free to have her own opinion on that matter. But ultimately the choice to have a partner or not was up to him and him alone.

"It was my pleasure to receive you, Your Highness. Thank you for allowing me to visit your world.

I bid you a very fond farewell and hope our paths cross again in the future."

He again used his anti-turbulace systems to keep the high speed winds of the sled. Whoever the genius was that thought it was a good idea to use an open platform hover sled probably knew nothing of altitude winds and other common weather phenomenons.

Once the trio was back on the ground safely, Shadow started to warm up his engines. He contacted local air and space traffic control.

Mirda control, this is Shadow of War. Request permission for take-off.

"This is Commander Riksan Anila of the Imperial Guard. Shadow of War, you have been cleared for takeoff from the Sain'ya military base. Please use the transmitted exit vector, your escort will be waiting."

Together with the message, a burst of data offered an exit vector to exit the orbit of Mirda.

True to their word, the escort group was indeed awaiting Shadow of War's arrival.

"This is admiral Saman Machal of the Trance of Unhesitating Speed. Welcome back, Shadow of War. We have prepared a nearby hyperspace navigation buoy for your use, to allow pre-jump course corrections and compensations."

The trip out of Smi's heliosphere, and into the Nebula is uneventful, and soon Shadow of War was free of the escort as he jumped into hyperspace away from the Smi-Halek system.

"Roger that. Proceeding on specified vector."

Shadow's engines roared to life. A moment later he lifted his massive weight of the ground. Transferring back to flight mode he followed the flightpath he was sent.

When he reached the escort he responded:

"Roger that."

As he neared the jump window he performed a standard pre-jump check. Satisfied with the results he contacted the escort for one last time.

"All systems green. Thanks again for the escort Admiral" He started to spin up his hyperdrives. "Shadow of War, over and out."

And with that he jumped out of the system, in the direction of the bozzy spine.
